I’m having problems with shipping fees. For example, I have beads that I would like to sell. Others list beads for 99cents with free shipping. The cheapest shipping I can get from eBay is $3.50. What am I doing wrong???
chrissiem4 (15 days ago)
Thumbs up! I love your videos, great tutorial! Thank you!!!
RockstarFlipper (15 days ago)
Thanks so much!!
Prices in this video are way out of date!  Better check with your post office to get 2018 prices.
Precious Metals Guy (25 days ago)
Can you do a video about how to compete with sellers selling so cheap and with free shipping that it would break your own bank to do the same?
PrairieGirl1000 (26 days ago)
What about the labels themselves? What kind of printer do you use? What kind of sticky labels? Does your account get charged when you print it? I'm afraid you left out a whole other subject! Either that or I really am completely clueless. Thanks.
Nlsc13 (30 days ago)
I’m going to go check to see if you have a video on mailing shoes! Thx. Your videos are awesome. Like the others say... no wasted time! 🙂
Nlsc13 (30 days ago)
What about the tyvek envelopes? Are those first class under 16oz? Is there a drop down for those or would it just be a first class envelope?
Jose Sut (30 days ago)
Thank you man I hope you make one for Mercari.
Thank you!!!

Omg dude I’ve been looking for a video that explained what u just said thank you so much I can’t believe it I finally know what flat rate and first class are definitely subbing
Thank you for being so clear on your YouTube video. Just to the point.
Kate EDid (1 month ago)
You didn't mention Media Mail--I was under the impression this was cheapest for heavy items like books? I've also heard it takes longer to get there...is this why you don't use it? Also, are prices on poly and padded mailers competitive? Do you recommend a certain company or brand that has it cheaper? Thanks for the video Casey!
Ed Gein (1 month ago)
Flat rate envelope holds more and is cheaper than small flat rate box.

Thanks man! Saved me a lot of research time.

First i gotta say thanks for explaining this item very well. I have been selling on eBay on a low to medium level for about 3 years now and understand it pretty well but shipping has always left me with questions. I pretty much do exactly that but always thought there might be a better or cheaper way, but i guess i am good. Your video was great, and didn't leave me with any questions. .....well actually just one. How comfortable is that chair? I don't know why but, I noticed it when you got up. thing is cool, i want one. do they sell em on eBay? lol -cmagic

Would it be weird if I shipped a reused amazon envelope envelope to ship something to a customer on eBay? I save a lot of those and was wonder I can reuse them.

@Rockstar Flipper How do you have a 17% discount on shipping through ebay?
RockstarFlipper (2 months ago)
Derek thank you so much!! appreciate that
Derek Ferguson (2 months ago)
@VersatileMindz909 @Rockstar Flipper Rockstar is indeed a Commercial Plus customer because he ships 300 packages per month on average over the course of 12 months running, not fiscal. He gets 17% on Priority Mail (not flat). He would get 24% if he was using eBay Labels. Flat Rate Priority is only 2.75%. First class, on the other hand, is upwards of 12%. Both of these rates are 10% higher using eBay Labels. Hope you don't mind me answering the question Rockstar!!!!
RockstarFlipper (2 months ago)
Ebay gives top rated sellers a shipping discount. Has been that way for awhile actually. Im not sure of the percent but that sounds a little high I thought it was more like 5-10%. usually a $7.10 padded flat cost me $6.90. so $.20 off
Sleekcartim .sleekcartim (2 months ago)
these companies keep raising rates so some of what you covered has prob changed. I try to recycle boxes, padded envelopes & packing material. that stretchy saran wrap type stuff that goes around pallets in big box stores etc... makes great packing materiel esp for heavy items, If its off the pallet just grab it & throw it in your shopping carts the workers will thank you lol
Super awesome vid and info thanks a lot! Subs!

NOPE.. I don't do Drop shipping.. risky
Sturm Reiter (3 months ago)
Somehow I feel duped. I sent a measly HP inkjet packet in a lightweight padded envelope. They charged me over $3.00 when I dropped it off at the PO. I mean, it weighed hardly.. well... nothing! I don't get it. Very annoying. I buy it for 99 cents, I sell it on Ebay for $10.00 (shipped free to buyer), and expected to only pay no more than say, $2.00. So after Ebay fees, PayPal fees and shipping, I make very little on this item.
RockstarFlipper (3 months ago)
Sturm Reiter because it was first class which ranges from $2.66-$4.76 depending on how many ounces 1-16oz. at the Usps it’s a little more expensive. Like $3.05-$4.96. The first prices are printed through eBay which gives a discount. Always print that way. But the $3 you paid is about right. Can’t ship anything less expensive first class

I want to use the first class option by weight (cause I am shipping something small and extremely lightweight), but the problem is .. will it come with tracking? Cause I don't feel comfortable shipping something without it.
Steven Kwon (3 months ago)
It looks like on eBay that $3.50 is the cheapest it will go for shipping....
Donna Bailey (3 months ago)
last i checked small flat rate only is flat rate price for shipping if 7 pounds or less in weight
Michael Post (3 months ago)
When you say priority by weight, you mean "Priority Mail, Package/Thick Envelope"?

We use 1st class every chance we can AND if needed or higher value items ADD insurance. We have lots of shipping info. UPS or FedEX can be cheaper for large/giant items.
Joyce Nagy (3 months ago)
Thanks, appreciate all your videos
linross246 (3 months ago)
I have to disagree BIG TIME on not FedEx shipping! Most of the items I ship are larger (larger than flat rate USPS boxes). But I always compare USPS and FedEx SmartPost or Ground. For anything over 2 or 3 pounds, I usually save a LOT by using FedEx SmartPost or Ground. And if it gets over 5 pounds or more, I usually end up using FedEx Ground and save anywhere from $10 to $30 or $40, but usually $15 to $20 over USPS. Again, it's usually if you're shipping small or a pound or two that USPS is the better option. And as for the free USPS Priority boxes, I get boxes free from a couple of local retailers
Linda Justice (4 months ago)
How do you ship heavy items i.e.: guitars, amps, lamps, large boxes of books etc? Thanks
RockstarFlipper (4 months ago)
I dont, because its to much work and too expensive. As with ANY OTHER ITEM being shipped you get the weight, you find an appropriate box, and you compare prices between USPS priority (items over 1 pound), UPS and Fedex and select the cheapest one.
IGL (4 months ago)
Question: How much would it cost you to ship an 18" x 18" x 18" box that is 16lbs from New York to California? Answer: $16.99 USPS Priority

RockstarFlipper (4 months ago)
Top rated selling on ebay gets a shipping discount yes
azactor (4 months ago)
USPS actually does have Priority Mail boxes (for free) that are non-Flat Rate. And you still use the "Priority Mail Package/Thick Envelope" options on eBay Shipping.
Estefania Amaya (2 months ago)
I thought so too, but I haven't tried it yet. I've sold 3 items on three different selling apps and I'm trying to figure out how to do the shipping correctly. It is difficult to understand the whole process.

When shipping with first class mail can I reuse old boxes that have manufacturers logos on them or is that not allowed via the USPS? I work for a company that has a lot of excess cardboard boxes but they all have logos on them. Can I use them?

I want to ship a 1lb roll of cotton. Would it be best in an envelope? And my own or 1 of the USPS envelopes? Thanks I'm new at this.
RockstarFlipper (4 months ago)
if its 1 pound or more you have to ship priority. It can go in a plain envelope by weight OR it can go in padded flat rate if it will fit for $6.90 (should be less expensive)
Cee Cee Brown (5 months ago)
Do the customer or seller pay for shipping?
RockstarFlipper (5 months ago)
Depends if you charge shipping or do free. Either way you pay for the label but if you do free shipping you should increase the price to offset it

My man this is a dope as video. I was cutting boxes practicing today for these Barbies in my inventory. I came across your video after my practice session, and I appreciate this. I respect your hustle. I just started on Ebay like 30 days ago. I sold about 15 items not a big profit, but I am just learning the game. I started my Amazon FBA, BUT I am working on getting ungated. This damn CPC is killing my hustle. I am starting to see what to sell on Amazon on what to sell on Ebay. #Determination #Private labelallday. Keep doing your thing. After wathcing this I had to sub dog.....

Everyone seems to think "Flat Rate" is the cheapest way to ship EVERYTHING. This is the first video I have found, that doesn't push using ONLY flat rate. It sounds like the best way to ship, is to keep the total weight at 8 ounces or less. The best thing I found, is using Ebay. Create the start of a fake item to sell, like a Ring. then scroll down to shipping details, and put in different weights and box shapes/sizes and shipping methods and make notes of them. When making the fake listing, DO NOT CLICK 'LIST IT' FOR SALE, just cancel it after you get prices.
