use a priorty box for free. then put box in a poly mailer. cheap way to use priorty boxes with first class lables
RockstarFlipper (22 hours ago)
AAAnd congrats on encouraging mail fraud :-). Thats completely illegal. Free priority boxes from the USPS are for priority shipping only... NOT first class
Alan T (4 days ago)
In the past I used to use USPS for almost all my shipping but that last couple years FedEx has gotten to the point where FedEx often... is less expensive. And I save and reuse the Amazon Prime envelopes. VERY good video!!
Edward Siger (4 days ago)
So much more expensive now fuck

Hi how do you ship a tyvec envelope. What do you select on the ebay platform?
Required Taste (16 days ago)
Does the package size matter for first class mail or is it solely based on weight?
Required Taste (13 days ago)
+RockstarFlipper Thanks for the help!
RockstarFlipper (16 days ago)
First class is always by weight under 16 ounces.. doesn't matter how big it is
angela walker (18 days ago)
I have a large heavy package that I need to ship cheaply. Weight 58 pounds meas. 40x23x23. What do you recommend?
Renee McClain (22 days ago)
Fantastic video...you covered everything and I'm really grateful for your wisdom. Can't wait to start selling on Ebay! Thanks so much!

But a purse won’t fit into an envelope. Can it just be a box?
Stunz (21 days ago)
Marcos Gonzalez yeah not sure
Marcos Gonzalez (21 days ago)
Stunz Does it? I was wondering the same thing??
Stunz (30 days ago)
+RockstarFlipper awesome, thank you, does it matter how big the box is?
RockstarFlipper (30 days ago)
Yes it can be
Jamie Hayes (1 month ago)
Is it always best to do delivery confirmation in case the customer claims they did not receive the item? Since I do not have a printer I would like to just write the address on the envelope and slap some stamps on it and let the mailman take care of it but of course packages get lost all the time. What do you recommend?
Rafe Arrington (1 month ago)
AndTheCorrectAnswerIs (1 month ago)
DO NOT USE THE FREE PRIORITY MAIL BOXES OR PADDED ENVELOPES AS PACKING MATERIAL. That is fraud, and it is a crime. The cost of the box is built into the shipping price. These materials are to be used ONLY for Priority Mail shipping. If the Post office finds that you stuffed your package with free Priority bubble envelopes, they will charge you the shipping fee for EACH encelope, and possibly prosecute you if you are a business doing this on a regular basis.

Very helpful and easy to grasp explanation! I've been hitting my head on the brick...figuratively speaking... to figure out this shipping puzzle, and now it is clear. Thank you so much! P.S. I made a writing error in one of my previous posts about "junk drawers" which caused my post to become nonsensical. Sorry about it!

Excellent video and Excellent guidance! Can I use a box that says Target or Mattel on it or does it have to be completely plain in order to send it Priority Mail? Please advise. Thank you!
Beautifulmusiclistnr (1 month ago)
+RockstarFlipper Thank you very much! I'm sure I'll have other questions for you! Thank you again!
RockstarFlipper (1 month ago)
Yes you can use any box to send priority mail, so long as it dosnt say flat rate..unless your sending flat rate. otherwise you'll be charged the normal priority price

Cyberbob (1 month ago)
Just list items for 99 cents and then make the shipping 180 bucks. (that's what true assholes do on eBay every day)
Cyberbob (1 month ago)
+RockstarFlipper It's to get people to click on the item. They see 99 cents and think "Oh cool!" And some idiots don't even look at the shipping prices and then negative feedbacks ensue.
RockstarFlipper (1 month ago)
Final Value fees are charged on the COMBINED price

USPS also provides free Priority Mail boxes that NOT flat rate.
Peter Bogdanoff (1 month ago)
You have to order the boxes on USPS.com and they'll send them to you free. Shipments in the non-flat rate boxes are priced by weight, generally in 1-pound increments. Flat rate is good for heavy articles, but usually by weight is a better price.

Please don't package video games in envelopes. You need hard protection. Almost every game a get in that packaging is cracked.
RockstarFlipper (1 month ago)
I bubble wrap all my games, so I highly doubt any are showing up with damage. sorry
FroztiProductions (1 month ago)
+RockstarFlipper Many people don't care if the case is cracked and don't say anything. I got three games last month, all damaged cases. Games were brand new sealed. 1 amazon bag, 2 gold envelopes.
RockstarFlipper (1 month ago)
FroztiProductions shipped thousands of games. Never an issue

I shipped a piece of jewelry today in a bubble mailer that weighed less than 3oz and was charged $3.50 because it was considered to be a package. Should I be using a brown envelope instead?

I’m having problems with shipping fees. For example, I have beads that I would like to sell. Others list beads for 99cents with free shipping. The cheapest shipping I can get from eBay is $3.50. What am I doing wrong???

Can you do a video about how to compete with sellers selling so cheap and with free shipping that it would break your own bank to do the same?
PrairieGirl1000 (3 months ago)
What about the labels themselves? What kind of printer do you use? What kind of sticky labels? Does your account get charged when you print it? I'm afraid you left out a whole other subject! Either that or I really am completely clueless. Thanks.

I’m going to go check to see if you have a video on mailing shoes! Thx. Your videos are awesome. Like the others say... no wasted time! 🙂

What about the tyvek envelopes? Are those first class under 16oz? Is there a drop down for those or would it just be a first class envelope?

Omg dude I’ve been looking for a video that explained what u just said thank you so much I can’t believe it I finally know what flat rate and first class are definitely subbing
Thank you for being so clear on your YouTube video. Just to the point.
Kate EDid (3 months ago)
You didn't mention Media Mail--I was under the impression this was cheapest for heavy items like books? I've also heard it takes longer to get there...is this why you don't use it? Also, are prices on poly and padded mailers competitive? Do you recommend a certain company or brand that has it cheaper? Thanks for the video Casey!
Ed Gein (3 months ago)
Flat rate envelope holds more and is cheaper than small flat rate box.
MA USA (3 months ago)
Thanks man! Saved me a lot of research time.
Chris Maciejewski (3 months ago)
First i gotta say thanks for explaining this item very well. I have been selling on eBay on a low to medium level for about 3 years now and understand it pretty well but shipping has always left me with questions. I pretty much do exactly that but always thought there might be a better or cheaper way, but i guess i am good. Your video was great, and didn't leave me with any questions. .....well actually just one. How comfortable is that chair? I don't know why but, I noticed it when you got up. thing is cool, i want one. do they sell em on eBay? lol -cmagic

@Rockstar Flipper How do you have a 17% discount on shipping through ebay?
RockstarFlipper (4 months ago)
Derek thank you so much!! appreciate that
Derek Ferguson (4 months ago)
@VersatileMindz909 @Rockstar Flipper Rockstar is indeed a Commercial Plus customer because he ships 300 packages per month on average over the course of 12 months running, not fiscal. He gets 17% on Priority Mail (not flat). He would get 24% if he was using eBay Labels. Flat Rate Priority is only 2.75%. First class, on the other hand, is upwards of 12%. Both of these rates are 10% higher using eBay Labels. Hope you don't mind me answering the question Rockstar!!!!
RockstarFlipper (4 months ago)
Ebay gives top rated sellers a shipping discount. Has been that way for awhile actually. Im not sure of the percent but that sounds a little high I thought it was more like 5-10%. usually a $7.10 padded flat cost me $6.90. so $.20 off
Sleekcartim .sleekcartim (4 months ago)
these companies keep raising rates so some of what you covered has prob changed. I try to recycle boxes, padded envelopes & packing material. that stretchy saran wrap type stuff that goes around pallets in big box stores etc... makes great packing materiel esp for heavy items, If its off the pallet just grab it & throw it in your shopping carts the workers will thank you lol
Super awesome vid and info thanks a lot! Subs!

NOPE.. I don't do Drop shipping.. risky
Sturm Reiter (5 months ago)
Somehow I feel duped. I sent a measly HP inkjet packet in a lightweight padded envelope. They charged me over $3.00 when I dropped it off at the PO. I mean, it weighed hardly.. well... nothing! I don't get it. Very annoying. I buy it for 99 cents, I sell it on Ebay for $10.00 (shipped free to buyer), and expected to only pay no more than say, $2.00. So after Ebay fees, PayPal fees and shipping, I make very little on this item.
RockstarFlipper (5 months ago)
Sturm Reiter because it was first class which ranges from $2.66-$4.76 depending on how many ounces 1-16oz. at the Usps it’s a little more expensive. Like $3.05-$4.96. The first prices are printed through eBay which gives a discount. Always print that way. But the $3 you paid is about right. Can’t ship anything less expensive first class

I want to use the first class option by weight (cause I am shipping something small and extremely lightweight), but the problem is .. will it come with tracking? Cause I don't feel comfortable shipping something without it.
Steven Kwon (5 months ago)
It looks like on eBay that $3.50 is the cheapest it will go for shipping....
Donna Bailey (5 months ago)
last i checked small flat rate only is flat rate price for shipping if 7 pounds or less in weight
Michael Post (5 months ago)
When you say priority by weight, you mean "Priority Mail, Package/Thick Envelope"?
Great vids just a bit long

We use 1st class every chance we can AND if needed or higher value items ADD insurance. We have lots of shipping info. UPS or FedEX can be cheaper for large/giant items.
Joyce Nagy (6 months ago)
Thanks, appreciate all your videos
linross246 (6 months ago)
I have to disagree BIG TIME on not FedEx shipping! Most of the items I ship are larger (larger than flat rate USPS boxes). But I always compare USPS and FedEx SmartPost or Ground. For anything over 2 or 3 pounds, I usually save a LOT by using FedEx SmartPost or Ground. And if it gets over 5 pounds or more, I usually end up using FedEx Ground and save anywhere from $10 to $30 or $40, but usually $15 to $20 over USPS. Again, it's usually if you're shipping small or a pound or two that USPS is the better option. And as for the free USPS Priority boxes, I get boxes free from a couple of local retailers
Linda Justice (6 months ago)
How do you ship heavy items i.e.: guitars, amps, lamps, large boxes of books etc? Thanks
RockstarFlipper (6 months ago)
I dont, because its to much work and too expensive. As with ANY OTHER ITEM being shipped you get the weight, you find an appropriate box, and you compare prices between USPS priority (items over 1 pound), UPS and Fedex and select the cheapest one.
IGL (6 months ago)
Question: How much would it cost you to ship an 18" x 18" x 18" box that is 16lbs from New York to California? Answer: $16.99 USPS Priority

RockstarFlipper (6 months ago)
Top rated selling on ebay gets a shipping discount yes
azactor (6 months ago)
USPS actually does have Priority Mail boxes (for free) that are non-Flat Rate. And you still use the "Priority Mail Package/Thick Envelope" options on eBay Shipping.
Estefania Amaya (4 months ago)
I thought so too, but I haven't tried it yet. I've sold 3 items on three different selling apps and I'm trying to figure out how to do the shipping correctly. It is difficult to understand the whole process.

When shipping with first class mail can I reuse old boxes that have manufacturers logos on them or is that not allowed via the USPS? I work for a company that has a lot of excess cardboard boxes but they all have logos on them. Can I use them?

I want to ship a 1lb roll of cotton. Would it be best in an envelope? And my own or 1 of the USPS envelopes? Thanks I'm new at this.
RockstarFlipper (7 months ago)
if its 1 pound or more you have to ship priority. It can go in a plain envelope by weight OR it can go in padded flat rate if it will fit for $6.90 (should be less expensive)
CeeCee Da Foodie (7 months ago)
Do the customer or seller pay for shipping?
RockstarFlipper (7 months ago)
Depends if you charge shipping or do free. Either way you pay for the label but if you do free shipping you should increase the price to offset it

My man this is a dope as video. I was cutting boxes practicing today for these Barbies in my inventory. I came across your video after my practice session, and I appreciate this. I respect your hustle. I just started on Ebay like 30 days ago. I sold about 15 items not a big profit, but I am just learning the game. I started my Amazon FBA, BUT I am working on getting ungated. This damn CPC is killing my hustle. I am starting to see what to sell on Amazon on what to sell on Ebay. #Determination #Private labelallday. Keep doing your thing. After wathcing this I had to sub dog.....
