Fortnite, it happened to me in 2 different apps they removed my listings, can someone please explain why I still see other people selling it like nothing? I had only 2 items and they got me almost right away.....
Wow....I don't understand this??? I have never sold anything on eBay but I sure buy a lot from eBay. I've bought Coach, Fossil, NAOT shoes, Brighton, so many other items just by typing those words in and lot's of stuff came up....new, used, with tags, without tags....so how are these items all listed on eBay to sell??? Is it that some get caught and some don't? I was wanting to get rid of a bunch of stuff that I don't need anymore (clean out the closet) on eBay and make some "side money"....buy now I'm scared. I have lots of "brand" name clothes, shoes, purses that I want to sell....darn.
Beachbody was one strike this summer. They took the listing down no suspension. No problem. Then few days ago I had a version of microsoft xp software that was taken down with no explanation or reasoning even after repeated emails to bsa.org the company working for microsoft to take down listings and report to ebay. ebay said they have to suspend me for 7 days even if the items are completely different and even though they are genuine used copies. Yet to hear back from microsoft.
before two day ebay vero catch me and removed two lists , one for clic company and the second a Denmark brand name , i dont even remember the brand name , they give me a warning. i think this is unfair , today i send a message for both companies and trying to find a solution , one of my list i sold 188 item in 3 weeks , i become crazy when they remove it .
I just got a 30 day suspension over a replica Halo Energy sword, from Microsoft. Apparently, this sword wasn't officially licensed. Also, avoid like the plague anything Beachbody/P90X related. So crazy how I have so many things to list and resell, and now I can't over a technicality. Thanks for the tip on "onesies" and "velcro", RockstarFlipper
hi sir, do you know what is eBay rules when an Ebay-seller claims design ownership ( Copyright) of a certain listed on ebay, but he is not, he just registered it to forbid other sellers from selling such item, like unfair competition, he wants to be the only one on ebay selling, so he makes a lot of money.... should´t ebay close his account ?? thank you
I just received 2 of these violations in one week - for two different products. My account is still fine and eBay simply took them down. Both products were women's handbags I bought at thrift stores and decided to offer on eBay to try the market. I've had some success selling women's designer handbags in the past, so I decided to try again. After being on eBay for 8 years and having Power Seller status, these two violations were unexpected. So, to avoid future violations from happening, I'll just stick with what I sell and know best -- comics, trading cards, toys and sneakers. Staying away from women's bags, shoes and clothing! Not my expertise.
I got suspended 7 days for selling Shears... hairstylist ones, from a company called Kai that wasn’t on the Vero list, the woman that sent me an email from that company was really nasty about it...I called eBay they told me to correspond via eBay with her and not an outside email and they will look at the correspondence...
RockstarFlipper Casey... she implied I wasn’t smart enough to know an authentic shears from a fake one!!
I told her these actually look like they are made better than hers...that didn’t go over so well... haha
I had an auction removed for Waterpik. It wasn't using the name as much as I used one of their pictures. I have got to be more careful. So many using the exact same pics and staying listed and getting sales.
Battle Balloons Color Burst.
Had one package of these that I bought on clearance at Walmart. Had no idea that I couldn’t list them. They weren’t listed very long because eBay took the listing down. I was very new on eBay snd had less than 100 listings at that time.
What I don’t understand is if you look there are plenty of them listed now and they don’t take those down. So why and how did they single mine out? I’ve been told by experienced sellers that most likely another seller stabbed me in the back and reported it to eBay. I guess the cut the competition. But, my listing was right around the same price as everybody else’s for that item. I hope that’s not true, because if it is, that’s pretty sad. Either way, I didn’t get suspended item just got removed. I know not to mess them anymore. Lesson learned!
Recieved a Vero complaint from Apple against a non-Apple set of earbuds. No detail as to what they are upset about, I don't use their brand or words anywhere. I sent an email, but I don't expect a response. Frustrating.
I know this is an older video but I received a ceast and desist letter through ebay. I came looking to see if you made a video about it and this is what popped up. My question is, are they allowed to send it through ebay messenger or do they have to send it through the mail to me? I dont know what to do in this situation.
Had this one removed recently by eBay with no explanation or reason given.
DSLR Nikon D70 by Peter iNova ebook on CD Mac or Windows Demo Software ... but I think it was because of Mac or Windows reference.
I got a hand slap from Dunkin Donuts and received letter from attorney. Items were pulled and I was suspended for 7 days. This was years ago and I have not had any problems since. It was a live and learn lesson for me. Now if I am not sure, I check the Vero List.
Sue Arnone I would love to buy a copy of that letter from attorney if you still have it. So many sellers steal my photos and VERO doesn't do much i keep reporting. I can't afford attorney I would love to send professional letter maybe it would help. It pisses me off they using my photos and my description selling at the higher price and my item not selling. Thanks
I just checked that link and that is a huge list, almost all good brands. This scares me because I am one that likes to follow the rules, and I see a bunch of listings with the same names that are in the Vero list. Maybe I will have to stay away from selling clothing or shoes, this kind of disappoints me in that I am very close to start selling on eBay. Thank you so much for all this good information.
My account is suspended for selling Microsoft Product for 7 days, I am scared how to sell now other, brand item, can some one suggest me, can we use simple alteration technique key word" for the title,
B Jaiswal DO NOT list that item or anything like it EVER AGAIN. EVER. PERIOD. You will lose your account forever. It’s 1 item. Sell it locally and move on. If you list it again your being closely watched and will be nailed. I don’t care how you change the title or keywords
Avery filed a complaint and had a SOLD listing removed because I sold a generic FBA label pack with the words "Avery equivalent #blahblah." They got butt hurt over that??? I will never buy an Avery product again. They obviously don't want anybody to know you can buy generic equivalents to their overpriced products. Generics work just fine, don't be fooled. It is now my life goal to educate people to find and use Avery equivalent generic products. In fact, FU Avery, I'm going to go out of my way to source generics to sell. I just can't use your precious little word.
What I don't get is there is a ton of trademarks everywhere....how in the world can anyone survive on ebay....you can't sell anything. What about so many secondhand places or even places like poshmark that sells brand new items that are designer brands and poshmark has a huge policy on counterfeit items...is that fake too? The brand coach says the only place to know that you got a authentic item is through them...ha! I don't think so! What about all the people who bought from them the correct way? Ebay is messed up!
Many cosmetic companies pull items especially those owned by Coty. I once had 250 OPI listings pulled in one day for trademark violation. Relisted a month later and they were pulled again. Had to see an attorney who told me what to post on each and every listing regarding the First Sale Doctrine and fair use of trademarks. Also re-photographed every picture so the full name did not show. Attorney also said OPI claimed they owned the OPI name on the bottle and therefore they were claiming no one could use it. Turns out they do own it but under the first sale doctrine others may use and show the name as long as they are not claiming to be this company. It is considered fair use of trademarks.
How do you do that? I have had 3 violations in under 6 months and just was suspened for 7 days. On was popsockets, one goodyx phone, and one was for a whirlpool water filter! We are relativly new and Im concerned we will lose our account.
i got an already sold listing pulled on a pair of shoes that i described as croc type....i felt stupid because that's an obvious one but i guess stumped for a description in the title. crocs are ok if they are actual crocs
I just had three listings taken down for trademark violation and unauthorized item. Sales deleted but money stayed there and no suspension. I was selling earphones/earpods/earbuds for iphones. I didn't state they were Apple or OEM. Not sure why they were taken down but the lady said Apple came after me. Ideas....thanks again.
You know who got me? Arbonne, and they aren't even on that list. They sent me a message via eBay telling me to "Cease and desist. They said that Arbonne products are for Arbonne Consultants only and I'm infringing on the business. What they didn't know was that I was once an Arbonne consultant at one time and I was selling my residual products that I had to pay for myself because that company is a scam. So basically I owned that sh*t full and outright. In as much, I expressed that sentiment, and was almost ready to tell them to bring it on and I'd lawyer up and countersue for fraud of the original contract and extortion now. My lawyer, however, said that it would be most unwise to take that road because their lawyers will eat people like me alive. So now it'll all get sold at a rummage sale this summer and Arbonne's troll lawyers can drive around in their white Mercedes looking for me to try and stop me and then they can suck it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. ;)
In as much, a few other names maybe to be weary of;
Madison Reed <-- for sure be weary
Chanel <--for sure be weary
Dell <--for sure be weary
Hope that helps someone.
Let's just say I've been digging through my books, cassette tapes, and gently used pet toys right about now. BTW I am learning so much from your vids. I did find your tax vid. Very helpful. Thank you. Though I'm still unsure about SS, State Tax, and Medicare. I'm calling an acct. today. But everything else, you cleared up. Fees too. *fist pump*
Do you have a schedule of when you do your live Q&A?
Received one of these Vero warnings for selling Harley Davisdon pins. All listings were removed even though they were authentic. The email they sent me said i had to be an authorized Harley Davidson seller to be able to sell their products?!?
Hey man. I have a question I posted P90x program and it was removed after it was sold and before I was able to ship. I posted as like new. Would you be able to suggest a different way to post it?
As always your videos are so helpful. Thank you
Yeah, I am relatively new to selling on Ebay and just got my listing for P90x/Beachbody removed for VERO/copyright. Of course, I still see others with their listings up, oh well. I guess I really need to do a little more research before listing items by looking at that VERO list. As a new seller, I don't need to get any more of these, I'm sure. I have a pair of Versace eyeglasses up...wonder if I should take that down now??? Scary stuff!!!
Copyright yes. I have original proof of purchase so it isn't fake and I was selling as "like new" since i never opened it. Looks like me and another ad was taken down but someone with condition "very good'' is still up.
Just had some listings removed yesterday for using the word Velcro. Didn't know it was a trademark name thought it was the name of hook and loop! Then, today they nailed me again for Onesie! They didn't say they were going to suspend me, but it's made me paranoid!! I've started googling info on it to make sure I don't do it again!! Geezzz
Many praises Casey! My husband is an attorney, A GOOD ONE LOL! I have been gleaning so much info from you and the other people doing videos on eBay.I signed up for my store last night to just sell a lot of our personal belongings and eventually start sourcing once I've cleared out my hoard. Now I'm scared. I told my husband about this and I asked him what could be done if I get suspended or shut down.. He doesn't know much about this, but asked me to do some research. Unfortunately I do have some of the brands that are red flags. How do clothing consignment and resellers get away with this? Sellers are being punished for trying to make ends meet. At least they are not taking welfare like many other people are illegally doing. Resellers work so hard for every dollar. I know because my mother was an antique dealer and reseller herself for a long time. Does anyone know of a very comprehensive list with exactly what can and can't be done. I went to eBay and looked at what they have, but it still is not exhaustive enough to actually help protect people. If they shut you down, do you get any fee reimbursement from your listings? I totally respect trademarks and copyrights, but this is a bit extreme.
I have North Face and Columbia jackets I want to list now before the weather gets warmer. Anything cold weather. Also, I have some Formal dresses that are from Davids Bridal. I was going to try to get them out for the high school spring dances and people looking for brides maids dresses. My youngest also has outgrown all her toys and I have tons because she was the youngest of four sisters. American girl, and many awesome brands. The toys I got her for Christmas she doesn't want so they are almost brand new. We are hoarders and want to unload all our stuff- it owns us lol! Thanks Casey. You have seriously given so much great advice.
rockstar flipper, i have people leaving me best offers, that is the same price as my BIN price, why wouldent they click BIN? 2 users did this, both new accounts 0 feedback. i declined both.... whats the scam there?
Because it doesn't require immediate payment when they offer and you accept. They then have 48 hours to pay or change their mind and your listing is off the market during that time. A person waiting to get paid or another person selling the same item for more and they just
Removed the competition.
Zero feedback can be a flag for sure. Do you require immediate payment? If so, a lot of the times people will make an offer for the BIN price just to guarantee you'll accept it just so they can get around the immediate payment. They know at that point they have several days to pay for the item.
I had a NHL St Louis Blues Velcro Cap removed one day, then the next day, I had another NHL Cap with Velcro removed. I contacted eBay and told them I was having issues with the health of my coworker and had to work long hours and did not go through my listings to remove the second one. They said just to do it asap. I now know, do not use Velcro. I actually sold some packages of Velcro a year ago. Sold about 20 of them, one at a time. Never had a problem. Now they are cracking down I guess. Thank, I think they know NHL uses their product quite a bit and check on the easy violations. Thanks for the info. Alfred
There is something else that you can not use in any listings that a lot of people may not know about and it is 'CARD GAME' it is a registered name and you must pay a fee to use it.
I did a quick search most of these people will know, however some may surprise you, like pop cicle or ice pop, I have added a couple of links that may be of some help.
I dont know about your area, but where im at, right now, there is alot of Adidas and Nike fakes coming into the bins. And if you accidentally sell it, they can suspend you or cancel you and you could face fines or more. I have actually stopped going to the bins and only buy new retail now for the simple fact that i dont want to risk it,
Pa. I dont do the bins no more. Its been a real waste of time lately. ive been hitting the outlets, ross, and tjmaxx along w some outlet shoe stores. Getting giftcards for cheap and then reselling all new. Im spending more, but making double in profits. And not having to dig in those bins is a plus.
I received an email from 5.11 tactical pants about trademark infringement not too long ago. I pulled my listing. In the past I have used onesie and Velcro and listings pulled. I now use one-piece and v-closure respectively.
Don't use FAROUK or CHI Iron. I lost my listings, my ebay store, and got a nice threat letter from Farouk in the mail. ALL of my listings were gone and every item I sold that was totally not related was cancelled. Let's just say it took me 10 years to forgive ebay and now I am having to start all over with a completely new business. I've had about 150 CHI Irons that are still sitting in their boxes and have been in my closet for awhile. BIG lesson learned :(
Yeah, it was strange because it was on the restricted list, but when I'd scan anything Belkin, it never said restricted. Then in reading comments of videos, I saw several people who Belkin contacted (or Amazon contacted them). Scared me away from anything like those products.
RockstarFlipper I got a legit multicolored Louis bag and I can't sell they go for about one point two grand
You wanna buy it off me I'll sell it cheap so you can resell it I can email you some pics if you would like
Weight Watchers searches Ebay regularly. I tried to sell the older points system book and my listing was taken down. And I received a serous email. That was several years ago. I should have known better. They expect people to join to get that info.
I got a trademark violation one was a seven day suspension for a coach bag and the other was a 30 day suspension for a Nike T-shirt. The first one was because I didn't give enough info in the description. The second was for not enough pictures and unclear pictures. (Not including pic of tag) stupid mistake
