This is true. I have half of my family of hungarian origin and my partner too. Theyre passionate people and proud of their culture. I never learned their language cus is too difficult. I only understand a bit spoken words but memebers of my family are fluent in their launguage.
10+ things people from Hungary want you to know : joking about being hungry whenever foreign people see or hear about our country is not funny. It wasn't funny the first time and still isn't funny the 38437475747483834456th time
Our inventors were not irrelevant. Look at Edward teller fo example, "the father of the hydrogen bomb" (which title he did not choose neither did he like btw.) the most destructive weapon known to mankind. Totally irrelevant. To say more recent things we're working strong in agriculture and healthcare and IT sectors. The country it self is small, there are about 15mil Hungarians that's not that much either. But we do shape the world somewhat. Take care and blessings to you.
Thank you for thinking about Hungary in your lists but...Hungary is central European. Like, it's not an offensive mistake, but Hungary is very much in the centre of Europe and, like, if you're doing a list about it, maybe think that through so your first sentence isn't automatically incorrect? Other than that, thank you. It was a nice surprise :)
Oh, come ON. How is it one of the most difficult languages? Maybe for Americans (or English speaking people), BUT not for Europeans. I am from SLOVAKIA and almost my entire family speaks fluently Hungarian. I speak a little too and it is NOT that difficult. Not easy either, but calling it one of the most difficult languages is just TOO MUCH. Viszonlatasra!
I don't need to be an expert to know that WatchMojo is exagerrating. I live in region where people are speaking fluently both Slovak and Hungarian (and they are totally different languages). Plus, my family is half Slovak half Hungarian. I have Hungary in my blood, so I guess I know what I'm talking about. The honor goes to Chinese, Korean, Japanese and other Asian languages.
I don't want to argue, but as I said, Hungarian is NOT easy, but it might be difficult MAINLY for English speaking people. In that case, there would also have to be Czech, Polish, Slovak, Russian and other Easern European languages.
Hello from Toledo Ohio! We have a significant Hungarian population here! My stepmom immigrated from Hungary when she was a child and my dad grew up in the Birmingham area of Toledo which was mostly Hungarian at the time. He’s even done some business in Hungary. Proud to be Hungarian!
+Brigitta Kovács I should have worded it better. Yeah the history is the same, but also the traditional usage like some older words still used today, especially in middle and Northeast Finland which is more isolated compared to the busy south. Hungarian is just surrounded by influencers.
this country now is the worst place in europe, even romania is better in terms of corruption and white collar crime scenes. This country is led by the worst people on earth, they build football stadiums in every major city, but our healthcare and hospitals are falling down and rotting, people die every day from infections and not sanitary conditions. Saddest place in europe and even the Eu wants to kick us out..
Hungary wants the rest of the world to know that borders do actually work, and because they repelled the muslim invaders they don't have terrorist attacks, rapes and other crimes, compared to the progressive west.
We had like a hundred immigrants here, the rest we just exported straight to the western borders to austria and germany to deal with. And the stupid far-right german fuckers even thanked us for it :D cheers from Hungary
+Alex 420 darling
The kingdom is not dead. Still hungary controll the whole area
Greater hungary indeed will happen
The russians are really supportive
( i think you heard)
As the video claims we are amongs europe most oldest nations
Older then germany and england
Your countrie borned in the 19 century
( hungary was already more then 1000 years old)
Your people are pathetic
And your countrie not works at all
I knows a lots of romanians
Not i am inventing this things up
You are going to loose transilvania for hungary
Wallachia for bulgaria
Like the things should be
Transilvania was a part of austria hungary
But austria hungary means the kingdom of hungary austria and the czeck republic
Well man i would be drunk too if i had to live with your people
This is why the hungarians considered the most smartest europeans lol
Kingdom of hungary is dead forget about it, greater hungary will never happen and the romanian folk was crated long before the bozgors settled in Pannonia and of corse there are hungarian influences if Transylvania was part of the austro-hungarian empire, but the reality is that now the hungarians in romania are either drunken workers or stupid hairdressers because they are too stupid to do something with their lives, you idiot!
The first king of Hungary was King Stephen I (975-1038). Many people don't know that the famous wrighter Stephen King is actually a Hungarian. He wrote over 50 novels and 100 short stories in Hungarian, but in 1974 his novel "Carrie" was translated to English and it became so popular, that they destroyed every Hungarian copy of his books and started to republish them in English. Later he moved to the US and they created a fake identity for him. Now you can only find that he was born in Maine, but that's not true. He was born in a Hungarian village called Pusztakodkodács. He decided to write under the name of the great king, then he batrayed the country. Now Hungarians have a pact that if any of them sees Stephen King they must bring him back to Hungary and make him confess. One of the attempts to do that inspired the famous novel "It".
Hungary also had a amazing cartoon called: Mézga Family. It was like the Simpsons type cartoon, only in Hungary. It had 3 series and one cancelled 4th series, only released a intro. The show was also aired in other countries like Rusland, Germany, Italy and Holland.
Hungary is full of historical conspiracy theories. There are many Hungarians that claim we're related to Attila the Hun an such things, I've heard some saying that ancient Hungarians built the Egyptian piramids and they were the residents of Troy or Carthago. Some people say that "Carthago" is actually a distorted Hungarian name "Kard Hágó" which means "Sword Pass". There are even some who claim that Hungarians came from outer space. Basically Hungarians are aliens from Sirius who fought Romans and Greeks and pretty much every existing nation. Just go and look it up! There are some pretty messed up things.
Both country made crimes against Humanity. There are not a single country in Europe which haven't commited atleast 1 genocide. All of our flags are in deep blood. But that's how it worked back then, now we can work together instead of fighting and make something good, that's the plan at least we're on this road now. Hope all is well.
+Richard Endresz Hahaha that's what they teach you incels? You insignificant stain, before going back to cleaning toilets know this, hungary betrayed the romanians many times in history, start reading more history from reliable sources before giving me my McDonalds order, ok? What is your education lever, you inbred?
The Doc you....oh god how should I explain so you can understand with your tiny brain? Romania is a traitorous country and switched sides in ww1 when they were losing and when they “won” they demanded the most parts taken away from Hungary so yes think before you speak also being mongol does not mean I would hate my Hungary since history is faked to an extreme extent everywhere around the world especially in Romania where it’s so fake they are teaching that the world was populated by Romanians and the other nations killed them for their land 😂
I took one of those dna tests and was surprised to find my parents had been honest about my heritage. Mom’s side is indeed French, Scottish, and Irish. Dad’s side is indeed Hungarian. It even showed combined areas like Iberian Peninsula and a bit into Turkey. All regions that historically belonged to Celts and Hungarian-Ottoman Empire. I thought, “Damn, I am related to these people. I’m not an alien or a Faerie. This explains everything though. There’s still hope!”
There's a saying that my dad told me that originated from the US: "The Extraterrestrials are already here. They only call themselves Hungarians."
Because Ede Teller, who was involved in the Manhattan project and also invented the theory of the Hydrogen-bomb was hungarian and was always talking in Hungarian with his other hungarian collegues. You can imagine how shocked and dumbfounded some of the only english speaking people back then were, when they couldn't understand Ede Teller and his collegues.
Yeah am not big fan of Hungary .For reasons seems to current racism. ,And seems to like that even in the distant past .There is only reason is where they shoot Game of Thrones ,I think could be wrong on that ,But I won't visiting some country. that has a wall around it ,Since seems to scared of the outside world ,And must bust be since seem love living under the boot of the Russian heel ,But it till see so real change in that country...And sure their some nice people from that country. ,But the people run it ate low life scumbags who deserve a real whipping. .So no warm and fuzzy thoughts from me ,When comes to Hungry .
Yes it is the hardest language in the entire world omfg.....
My fiance is Hungarian so im trying learn it talk to her family
everybody including her tries to warn me lol
Wish me luck mates hope all my hard work pays off Ill be getting married in Budapest in 4 months(hope I can say more the 4 words and the tons of cuss words I know) lol
Number 7, yep, because it's a language that's spoken in Europe, but not Indo-European. That's one of my deterrents to going there. Even if some folks speak other languages (I checked, English and German have significant amounts of speakers, but not a majority), I still think it good to learn some of the local language. I have a bit of hearing loss, so I'm worried I won't be able to hear some of the sounds.
+Cursedimage , Hungary is geographically in Central Europe and is culturally Western Europe - Catholic and Lutheran rather than Orthodox.
There's nothing Eastern European about it, not even the alphabet.
