I have done pretty much all of your suggestions and yet my items still sit. I sell mainly Disney pins so I know that there is huge competition. I price my items very competitively (most of the time for a few $'s less and I take really good photos. (Canon T4i) I offer 30 day returns, best offers, free shipping and 1 day turnaround on getting the item shipped. It is just so frustrating when you see other sellers doing so well in the same category that I am in while my items sit and yes I do have a Top Rated Plus emblem on my listings. I also have 100% feedback and I also mention that my home is a non-smoking home. :(
I have literally copied and pasted their title as my title...not that often as I don't want to get anyone angry. I hate gone to a website that helps with telling you which keywords are more popular than others as well. My only thought on what is going on is that eBay is hiding my listings! I even upped my store from a basic store to a premium store. I am really hoping that it turns out to be a good investment! I just did it a week ago so we will have to wait and see! Great videos by the way! VERY HELPFUL!!!
Thank you for your videos! I do have a question, I am recently stepping it up on Ebay and started a store finally. When I list BIN watchers seem to watch till the end of the 30 days. I think they might not get that it is NOT an auction. When you list BIN do you say something in the description about the type of listing so buyers understand that they can buy at any time? Thank you :)
hey Rockstar, I have had some success on eBay but I'm scared to list more items and getting overwhelmed with packaging and printing labels Etc. I would love to go full-time with an eBay store but I drive a truck during the day and don't have but a few hours at night two process my orders. also less than 20% of my customers leave feedback and that pisses me off. I love your videos and you offer a lot of great information and I wish I had you on my side as a mentor. thank you, clarksville.parts.plaza
I have been binging away at your videos for days and I wanted to take time to say a sincere thank you for all the wonderful knowledge you share. I have shopped my own house for items and thrifted for some. I have made my templates on ebay and am waiting on my packaging and tape to arrive. Then I am going to plug into all the things you have taught us to get this show on the road. From the bottom of this stay at home moms heart, THANKS SO MUCH! My kiddos thank you too.
Thanks for the tips! If you are accepting best offers, you can automatically decline any low ball offers by setting a minimum price. It helps me a lot because I really don't like receiving super low ball offers haha! It's almost offending sometimes and I just like to not even see them :) Also, not putting your price too high just because you want to leave room for people to send best offers. A lot of people filter by low to high price and I like being on the top! So with some items I simply do set a buy it now price and those items sell well for me too. I do this with the bread and butter items mostly. Higher end brands are priced higher and I accept best offers. And yes! Do take 30 day returns, easy to change and puts you up there. Also, set up international shipping. I know you have mentioned this before, but I get a fair amount of international orders. Thanks again! Always good to learn, keep learning :)
I agree with everything you said Except, the Returns....I sell on EBay I have a No Return Policy, the buyer is protected by EBay anyway....I have heard So Many Horror Stories about sellers Not getting their Item Back the buyer will ship Anything in a box and say they returned the item or it's Damaged...It's Not in the condition that the seller Shipped it in ..So not only does the buyer get to keep your Item, but they also get their Money Back...Also I learned Not to sell Expensive Items on Ebay keep it between $20-100 dollars. ..the more expensive the item the more people try to get Over on you...Claiming none Delivery even tho you provided a Tracking # and it says Delivered etc....It's a lot of Scam Buyers on Ebay. ..I've been selling on Ebay for 3 yrs 100% rating No Problem. ...Until recently when a Buyer tried to get over on me,claiming Item wasn't Delivered and kept messaging me to Send him Another they were New With Box Armani Sneaker he said that his Mail Carrier delivered it at the Wrong address and that his Post Office told him to Contact Me ,he sent me a Link to contact the Post Office. ..I didn't That's Not My Problem...No more Items over $100..
Something I realised that seems to work is to have a small stash of hot selling or holy grail items that you can list when sales are down. I found it much better to list them intermittently as they act like a spark plug in activity for my account and it's generally opened the gate to a burst in sales.
Casey, I sell motorcycles and parts on fleBay ( vintagekingmotorsports ) and this last year SUCK's. It;s like someone flipped the sell switch to OFF. I generally do not accept returns because the second eBAY TOOK AWAY OUR ABILITY TO LEAVE ANYTHING BUT POSITIVE feed back the dead beats crawled out of the woodwork, ex: I sold a carburetor and the buyer immediately filed a " not as described " The carb was new in the box NEVER opened!!. eBay made me take it back and guess what I got back in the mail??? A box full of pee gravel!! I lost $150.00 and eBay said " that is between me and the buyer "
I will try some of your suggestions and see how it goes.................
My best time on ebay is Halloween
Im only list 6 items in my store and I sell like crazy very expensive $100 and $120 each costume.
Im manufacture my own costume I don't have any competition.
But the rest of the year Im sufferin for sell.
It's a website that aggregates one's Seller's Feedback generates a widget to display on new eBay listings and also has a marketplace component where seasoned ebay sellers can resell inventory - like an ebay Alibaba -- I am trying to build my ebay presense and makes sales (ebay username: HauteSalesGal) and it's been extrememly slow for me - 1 or 2 sales a month if that and when searching for how to promote my listing I discovered this website however I haven't seen much of a change +RockstarFlipper
World Top10 Good point. That's why I got the basic store for 20 bucks a month once I knew I was going to be selling and listing regularly. You have to weigh your avg monthly sales vs the fees for individual listings to see if you would come out ahead with a store. You get a lot of cool tools when you have a store. Also quarterly coupons for shipping supplies.
i got some advice for you handsome, get better lighting & sit closer to camera, show off those killer blue eyes, ppl will watch you more ;) U got great advice too buddy, esp have NICE pics, even sweeten them up a lil (not a lot tho)!
No magic number, although i have heard people say to list 9 and not 10 because ebay displays a "more thn 10 available" number. some people list 1 at a time then as soon as it sells list another, or they list 2 and keep reupping it. all my items are almost alwasy 1 of, so i dont typically have that issue. thanks
Honestly it can't hurt to have both catchy and if possible the same. You kind of always want everything to be the same so anyone can find you anytime. It's not a deal breaker if not but it's kind of like "branding" make everything the same
It is crazy though because I have a really good camera (Canon T4i) and I take pretty good pictures with it but...I have seen others have really bad (out of focus etc. pictures) and their item sells while mine sits! Most of the time my item was even priced for LESS than theirs was! Do you think that eBay purposely hides listing?! That is the only thing I can figure is going on...it doesn't make any sense otherwise! Don't people price shop anymore?! I have had added a fee for shipping but my item was still less than my competitors and theirs sells. I have also had free shipping and you guessed it...theirs sells! When I am looking to buy something, I don't care if they are charging shipping or not...it the total is less than someone else, I am going to go with the person that is going to save me money! Anyone have an opinion?
Photos are THE most important thing on eBay. That's the only indicator that people have of what the actual thing is that they are buying, what condition it's in, etc. They're buying online, so they can't hold the item in their hands and examine it, but you gotta give them the closest possible to that in your photos.
