I had to pause and write a comment about you doing/showing how to list by yourself. Lots of respect for showing us not to be lazy (like im always because i just love the thrill of the hunt items to resell more than listing) so this video for sure will help me get my momentum back. Ok im gonna resume to watch your awesome vid.
Ray Paramio (30 days ago)
ok now i watched the whole vid. I cant even list 20 items in one day because i have to wash the clothes, take pictures, measurements, research how much i can price them competetively and then list it. Still a great vid but im kinda sad a lil bit for myself but i need to keep going and grinding.

Not sure how I missed this video with all my roots binging but great video Ryan!

This is an excellent video as always~! Someone asked a question below about how to give access to your account to an employee? Do you keep changing passwords? Or is this info you trust an employee with and just create one and leave it? (We are all looking for our Alli =) Thanks!!
Beth Dixon (11 months ago)
Brilliant 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🌵🌵🌵
Carlos Gomez (11 months ago)
I thought you and your wife did the listings too. How often do you get help? Do you have a full or part time employee?
RALLI ROOTS (11 months ago)
We have a full-time employee
Lorette D'souza (1 year ago)
From what I see you basically just took pictures but I think putting down the right description when listing is the most time consuming thing.
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
This was the entire process not just pictures, everything from beginning to end. Cheers.
Mountain Crest Farm (1 year ago)
I saw a tape measure being used. What measurements do you include besides the measurement/size on an item's tag/label?
Steven Fadrowski (1 year ago)

RALLI ROOTS went to Amazon fba with all so much free time total love it
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
that's not bad :) keep growing!
Steven Fadrowski (1 year ago)
RALLI ROOTS I did look at a lot your videos. My prefer way to sell in Amazon platform. Ebay for good things Amazon not letting me type of thing. I don't count my 3rd platform that's Facebook. I do supper well on 3 platforms I do 4500 after everything every week.
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
cool, yeah stuff like games, toys are much easier to list than clothing :) good system, this video was more to show people how to list everything mobile. If you look at our recent vids you can see how our systems work now.
Steven Fadrowski (1 year ago)
RALLI ROOTS I sell bordgames and kids toys puzzles and clothing. When I put a team together I have 1 for photography and 1 pricing. 1for drafting and item detailed that normal be missed like model and UPC and. I do not waste time putting in shipping information till Varry end till item sells.
Taylor Goines (1 year ago)
How much is your warehouse? I am looking for one but yours looks more like a big storage unit with power outlets.
TheMediaMarauder (1 year ago)
Back in the day I use to list over 500 items a week.... by myself.. did a lot of the same stuff... Signed PHOTOs just went back and changed title and price... It was only one screen...not the three or four screen process that it is now.. It use to be so much faster to list....LOL
TheMediaMarauder (1 year ago)
Agreed... It takes me forever now... I am upping my game on my photos... I have been fighting with my lighting for 30 minutes now... It was good last night... I moved them... and now cant get it looking good again...LOL
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
Let's go back to that! lol
Eric Perich (1 year ago)
Really like this video because I do EVERYTHING Myself. I have learned a lot watching your Videos. Lots of Very Helpful Tips. Thank You...
Chilidog (1 year ago)
Question... I can do about 10 to 15 in 3 hours. So that's about 15 min per item. But that is photos (6-12 per item), basic editing if needed, full measurements on clothing, custom descriptions with specific item details, and quick price research. Does this seem reasonable?
Melanie N (27 days ago)
Chilidog yes 👌
J G (1 year ago)
Ryan, did you use your mic on your iPhone or did you copy & paste templates to make the job go faster? I'm talking about the mic to text.
mommipreneur (1 year ago)
Great video!!
MrDutchhack10 (1 year ago)
Sorry if you have answered this already but how many pics of each item do you take and post?
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
depends on the item but usually 8-12
Dennis (1 year ago)
When I list something on my phone it doesn't give me an option to opt in the "best offer" option. Did it ever restrict you as a new seller to have that option?
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
woohoo! that's awesome :) exactly how we started
Dennis (1 year ago)
RALLI ROOTS Got it figured out. Thanks for the help! Since about a week of watching yalls videos, my girlfriend and I took $200 and went out and found some good deals locally and odered supplies from usps. Today im listing items on my 8th listing.. Thanks for all the awesome content helping us learn!
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
when you put in the price click on the drop down option, that is where you'll be able to turn on best offer. you can definitely do it from mobile
Daniel Johnson (1 year ago)
I was wondering where you get the pallets at?
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
We got them for free. Businesses throw out pallets all the time.

$20 profit per item? What are you smoking?? :P
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
Not smoking anything unless you're sharing lol :) $20 profit per item is pretty low for us. Our ASP is over $40..

This was really informative! Thank you. Love your pinned post lol
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
Iris Gross hahaha 😜 no worries!
Deborah Smyrl (1 year ago)
Thank you for the info. I am new selling on EBay so I'm still a little slow. Good to know what to expect as far as hour much can be done in an hour. I've heard other EBay sellers say about 10 listings per hour. That also shows that all that work really can be worth it. Thanks again!
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
Deborah Smyrl no worries 😊 good luck!
Etoyroom (1 year ago)
Do you find it's faster to take all the pictures at once and then go back and write the listings or do you write the listings right after u take the photos? Thanks
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
FamilyFunNmore haha! I need longer hair but I'll take it 😉
Etoyroom (1 year ago)
Thanks for quick reply:) could be bc I'm from New Jersey but u remind me of Bon Jovi, younger version of course, lol
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
Definitely faster to take all the pictures and list everything at the same time from a computer, but in this vid I was doing the listing right there on the phone.
Megan Mawhinney (1 year ago)
Your profiting $20 average on each of your items? What are you selling?!!? gosh. If I ever hired someone I would pay them like $1 for each item they list. I'm too cheap to pay someone $20 an hour and not have them listing quick enough.
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
Paying someone per item listed works too. Some people also pay a percentage only when the item sells, there's a few ways to "hire" people :) We're just very picky about the items we buy. Try to keep our revenue per item high, it's currently around $43 an item.

no worries :):)
Shon Turner (1 year ago)
RALLI ROOTS Thanks for the quick reply. I really appreciate your videos and time. You guys are awesome!
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
we take at least 8 per listing
Victoria Schless (1 year ago)
Impressive, but I have some questions. I also do a lot of listings through my phone. However, I can only post about 6 items an hour no matter how hard I try. I tend to do one thing at a time, though people have suggested taking all of the pictures and measurements first, and then getting on the computer and entering everything that way. I have found with the phone the templates don't stick and eBay changes your settings. For example we're set for one day shipping. I get to that page and see not only am I set for two day shipping, but I also don't take returns, and my return policy has been erased. I also noticed that you only took a couple of pictures of your items. You don't subscribe to the philosophy that Casini bumps you up if you have 12 pictures? Just some thoughts. I'd love your feedback. Thanks.
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
Hey Victoria, so we only take an average of 8 pictures per listing, we haven't found any issues with Casini with 8. You're right, the templates with mobile don't save but we copy and paste a description from our notes. We also take a picture of the measuring tape in with the pics so that we don't have to list the measurements in the description, we just say see the pics. Doing it that way we can pump out at least 10 an hour pretty easily.
Victoria Schless (1 year ago)
OH...and research and cataloging, all that good stuff. It seems like it adds up to more than 10 minute listings. :? I'd love to go faster. I'll never get through this death pile.
Adam Taylor (1 year ago)
Hey Ryan, I started reselling about 4 weeks ago after finding your videos and have been having great success, thank you! Yesterday received a Vero for a Ralph Lauren shirt, do you have any tips for us newbies or is this one of those roll with it and learn type of deals? I'm a little put off to go sourcing today 😥
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
ATPerformance you'll be fine. Don't sweat it.
Adam Taylor (1 year ago)
RALLI ROOTS You're a superstar, thanks for the reply! Yes turns out the shirt is a counterfit, a very good counterfeit. Now I know what to look for and what to steer clear of, just worried about getting strikes so early in. It seems a lot of the information about it on YouTube is eBay and brand bashing, not a great deal of reassuring information for someone new to the game thinking they are going to be shut down worse😭 Keep doing you 👊👍
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
That's awesome that you're having success! hmmm..was the vero for a counterfeit item? They do happen, just make sure you are being careful about the brands you are buying. We've been hit with a couple out of the blue as well, it's usually good to call ebay and talk with them if it happens again. Keep sourcing, happens to the best of us. Cheers.
Coastal Resellers (1 year ago)
Ryan you are DA Bomb lol. omg I use maniquinn - listed 7 items & don't even want to say how many hours it took :( I have fibromyalgia as well ouch!! AHH HELP IM DOIN SOMETHING WRONG BROTHA!! love you guys
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
we take a picture of the measuring tape with the item.
Coastal Resellers (1 year ago)
RALLI ROOTS ok I do long descriptions plus include measurements How do you measure?
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
Thank you! You're probably not doing anything too wrong. Using a maniquinn does take longer but it looks nice. We stopped using a maniquinn and we haven't noticed a bid difference. Also, we don't type out a long description. Basically just see the pictures for the measurements and condition. Just gotta get them up and out the door ASAP ;)
Mike Tatum (1 year ago)
Do you tell the person listing the item how much to list each one for? Or save a sell similar draft for them? I'm just curious because some of the time I spend listing on my own is actually doing the research on the item itself and pricing it.
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
Mike Tatum of course!
Mike Tatum (1 year ago)
+RALLI ROOTS that's a great idea thanks for the info
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
Mike Tatum usually when we're working with somebody we'll have them just do drafts and then we'll price and list them when we've checked them out.
Noaj (1 year ago)
Do you tend to use auctions or fixed price listings more often? What items work well for each one?
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
no worries ;)
Noaj (1 year ago)
RALLI ROOTS thanks!
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
fixed price with best offer 95% of the time.
just an older guy (1 year ago)
Actually this is good advice. I do this too but I pay it as a percentage of sales (commission). I find I get better results.
just an older guy (1 year ago)
Deborah - What I have found is that 10% of gross gets me the best results.
Deborah Smyrl (1 year ago)
just an older guy I watched a EBay video where the seller hired someone to do listings & he paid his lister around $3 an hour & also $1 per listing, so it came out to $14 per hour. Another seller paid his lister $3 per hour, $0.50 per listing & 3% commission. I think it was 3% commission. That would be an incentive to list quickly but also make good listings.
just an older guy (1 year ago)
True, but I think it depends on the demographics of your hiring pool. Where I am it works better with commission, but sounds like you got it dialed in.
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
just an older guy nice! That's a good idea if you can get somebody to work for commission. We just find we get more dependable help if they know they are getting guaranteed money without waiting for the items to sell.
Travis Medlin (1 year ago)
Have you guys done a video on how you structure an ebay listing? Like, do you do buy it now, auction format, what times, days, etc? There is a lot of information out there on what is best but it is conflicting. Just curious what you guys think. Great videos by the way. Lots of great content. I'm a new subscriber trying to catch up!
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
Travis Medlin thank you!!! I don't think we have done a a full vid on how we list. There are a lot of ways that work, it's more about what works for you. We do BIN/obo good til cancelled, free shipping.
mylove ofThrifting (1 year ago)
I cant seem to use my iPhone, much easier with a home pc lol
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
mylove ofThrifting agreed. It's easier to list from a computer, just wanted to test this way out 😊
The Thrifting Gypsy (1 year ago)
2:14.... doo doo...lmao! Yes I am 12 😂😂😂 But seriously great video! 20 items start to finish in 2 hours is great! 💪💪💪
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
Amy C hahaha! I said it again! Man, every video 😂😂 thanks!
Pam H. (1 year ago)
Apparently I'm spending way too much time listing!!! I can whip out pics of my items in no time flat but it can take me over 15 minutes to write an ad! I keep reading that you should describe everything in detail, etc.... Maybe it has to do with the fact that I do individual, somewhat collectable, items as opposed to something that's branded and customers already know what your item is...I feel like I must give a total word picture of each item.
Pam H. (1 year ago)
RALLI ROOTS One more quick thing.....I'm 'Ollllldddd' ( as my 20 yr. old granddaughter reminds me!), 63....I just want to tell you guys how it tickles me to see young people like you making such a success of themselves! Maybe it's 'corny' to say so, but it's how I feel! Keep up the good work!!!
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
of course :) we're here to help! All the best to you as well! cheers
Pam H. (1 year ago)
RALLI ROOTS Thanks....I'm going to try changing up some things....I just went through a long and somewhat painful move and want to get back to work soon...hope to truly make this a 'job' now! 😉...thank you so much, I really appreciate you taking the time for this exchange with me! Best of everything to you and Allie!
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
Pam H. I would say a bit overkill yeah 😊 people who buy items like that are generally collectors so they know about the item already. They just want a short description and a bunch of pics. That's what we've found anyway 😊 but again, do what works for you!
Pam H. (1 year ago)
RALLI ROOTS Actually that has occurred to me...show plenty of pics, list a few basics & let interested parties ask questions. I had 2 vintage bibles & I think I had at least 10-12 bullet point style lines for each...overkill?
OurTimeIsOut (1 year ago)
I can only list one item in an hour. Ya know got to take a shower, eat fiddle around first lol.
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)

RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)

I will be making my own videos too soon.

I seriously NEVER tried this. I know I list A LOT in one hour. I'm sooo gonna time myself!! Should make it a challenge. 😀
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
haha! yea give it a shot! :)
I'm very impress. I wish I could do that many. Do you add the measurements in your descriptions? I may have to switch to flat lays. Using the mannequin may be what's slowing me down. Good stuff man.
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
Third Shift Millionaire thanks! No, we just take the pics showing the measurements. Mannequins are good, we used to use one as well but they can definitely slow you down if you're selling a ton of clothes.
Edward Gonzales (1 year ago)
Hey Ryan 1st I wanna say that you guys are putting out massive content!! Do you guys sleep ? Lol all of it is very appreciated. I am close to hiring my first ft employee but I am leaning towards doing a $1 a listing. My only concern is giving someone access to my account. Do you know of a way for someone to maybe do drafts and I come in and finalize the listing? Thanks for everything you all do. My coffee game is weak compared to you all 😭 btw
chats and videos (1 year ago)
I just asked this same thing then saw this ..oops ....I was thinking about maybe an ink frog account? I know I don't want them pricing, not sure about the descriptions .....hmmm still thinking on this
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
Edward Gonzales for sure! You too! Cheers
Edward Gonzales (1 year ago)
RALLI ROOTS yep I thought so. Right now we just have a few people handling pictures and storing the items. We would hope to have a streamlined process with little effort on my part so I can spend more time on other business ventures. Thanks anyway for your response! Keep living the dream man
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
Edward Gonzales hey! Thanks so much I really appreciate it! That's a tough one, as far as I know eBay STILL only allows one user name and login per act. It's weird, I don't know how very large eBay acts hand it. You can definitely have employees create drafts for you and review them later but they will still have access to your act. Unfortunately it's a big trust exercise with eBay. Usually what we do is have the "employees" do all the pictures and help with shipping and we handle the listing/customer service side. You can also log in and out on their computers when they are listing so they never have your password. It's a tricky one

Great to see Ryan in action! 😊 Question: for this experiment did you take the pictures through the eBay app or did you take it separate first then upload to the listing? Awesome video! 👍🏼👏🏼
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
thank you!! for this one I took the pictures directly through the ebay app.
4MyDanceAddiction (1 year ago)
Hi Ryan! Love watching you and Alli :) Thx for all the help and info! Question: Do you ever have any shadow issues with the ring light since you only have light on one side? Thx :)
lestki (1 year ago)
What 4mydanceaddiction said. :)
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
OMG, what a really really nice comment :) thank you! seriously, it's comments like this that give us the motivation to keep putting out more content so thank you! YOU ROCK!!
4MyDanceAddiction (1 year ago)
Wow! What a fast response! Thx :) Just an insertation here (yes, I just made up my own word) You and Alli are absolutely gorgeous people and each of you have your own unique flair. I truly enjoy watching your videos together, as well as individually. I'm a fairly new reseller and I started watching your solo videos first. (Thx so much for the inspiration!) You have a very unique way of conveying information in a relevant, time efficient, and professional manner that draws the viewer in. And Alli is just a beautiful ray of sunshine and her upbeat personality is contagious. It's beautiful to see the love you share together and you both doing what you love to do. Keep the videos coming! Individually and together...YOU BOTH ROCK! :)
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
you're welcome! thanks for watching them! Yes, we do get shadow issues with it sometimes. the ring light is great for most things but we usually use the box lights as well. I put a link to those in the video description :)

Vicky (1 year ago)
Great video as usual - even if it was without your better half! ;) Here's a tip for those who don't want to spend big bucks on an espresso machine. Get yourself a Bialetti Moka pot for $25. That's how us Cubans and Italians have been doing it for decades. As gourmet as it comes! My husband has the 3 cup one and he drinks that by himself every morning. Sometimes another mid-afternoon. It takes more to get you going when you're 56. Haha!
Vicky (1 year ago)
Alli Roots The Bialetti is just a pot you use on the stovetop. Very old school!! A staple in Cuban and Italian households. Haha Can't wait to see you back at RalliRoots but hope you're having a great time with your mom and grandma!
Alli Crafts (1 year ago)
Now I want a shot! Man, all this coffee talk is making me thirsty! I'm missing my Ryan coffees on vacation. Thanks for the machine tips! You have me an excellent idea for a present 🎁❤️
Vicky (1 year ago)
I. M. The Bialetti is aluminum. We used a stainless steel one before but the Bialetti is the best - aluminum or not! My husband drinks La Llave not Bustelo. No coffee snobs here though. Just like a good strong cup of Cuban Joe! 😀
I. M. (1 year ago)
Vicky Fisher - I love those stove top coffee makers from my days in Miami. Most are aluminum, not good. Will look yours up. I'm a total coffee snob now, gotta grind my own organic. Cafe Bustalo doesn't taste good to me anymore.
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
Vicky Fisher OMG...LOVE CUBAN COFFEE ☕️ ❤️
Barkey McCheesepants (1 year ago)
I miss Alli. Go get Alli. I miss her. Not saying that you aren't The Man, Ryan...but you are no Alli. As far as being on your own you did a great job. But we are missing the better half. No offense, I think you would agree.
Anav Picker (1 year ago)
I agree love Alli in the videos, it's just not the same without the RALLIROOTS fist pump!! But Ryan does put out great videos.
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
ahhhhhhhh I KNOW BARKEY! lol. I'll tell alli to come reply to your comment so you'll have that at least lol. Maybe I can get her on a skype call next vid.

Do you go garage saleing every day? Or just fri, sat, sun?
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
just on the weekends, and not every weekend these days. When we first started out we would definitely try to hit garages sales and estate sales friday-sun though!
Theresa Gross (1 year ago)
Wow, you Rock Ryan! I'm so glad you did this video as it does give the "inquiring minds" a true idea of what to expect. Myself, I personally don't do clothes anymore as I live in a very poverty stricken area of NY and the most "high end" brand we have here are Tommy Hilfiger (and the thrift stores over price it). With me doing everything else I can usually knock out about 6 item's an hour (if I have my research done before hand) KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK, LOVE THE VIDEO'S !
Temujin Khan (3 months ago)
If you live in the poor sector doesn't it usually mean more crime and more items you can get very very very in a back alley somewhere?
I. M. (1 year ago)
RALLI ROOTS - I'm doing clothes and shoes. My research time is the biggie. If I do 10 in a day I feel so accomplished! My landlady ordered my home business out, she only buys new at retail prices, looks down on thrift. Illegal, I know, but I'm moving out and can afford a small office.
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
Thank you! yeah, clothes are harder to list anyway with all the measurements etc lol. We like to stick to hard goods under 16oz if we can :)

The problem I find with listing with the phone is I can't out the item in the correct store category and it doesn't let me add my Sales Tax to each item. That's why I just do it through the PC. Any suggestions? Thanks and great videos!

we usually do everything on the laptop as well, this was more for a quick (it is possible) to do it on your phone vid. It actually goes way faster if we take all the pics and list later.
