If one buys a Ferrari it also cost a fortune to upkeep. You have to have serviced by ferrari certified tech to keep any resale value in the car. Everyone wants to see each service and parts are out of this world

Perfect attitude on the car that more young'uns need to learn (yes, you and Alli are young'uns. I'm 63...LOL). People don't become wealthy dumping money into a depreciating asset.

Theres a scanner on the amazon seller app is it not as good as fbascan app?
Tamika King (1 year ago)
I can never find remotes to sell for profit.
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
you just have to look up the model number and check sold comps before you buy them
Tamika King (1 year ago)
There's a ton, but I always grab the wrong ones. It's only certain ones that really sell for profit. Which ones should I buy? Is there a certain brand?
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
really!? there's always tons at the garage sales we go to lol
GUS GONZALES (1 year ago)
Do you scan items or you just type in the model # to look up the comps?
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
depends on the item and platform, for amazon we san everything, ebay we usually look up the model or UPC

love those VANS ! im also lovin the video , and your 2014 vehicle ! secondhand market all the way for me , furniture, car, clothes, electronics...anyways lots o love over here ! I am currently sorting inventory and thinking i need to jump on the FBA wagon.
so my IMPORTANT questions. .. is you have all these high dollar items how long do you sit on them ?? me and my husband do the same as you to and we're always keeping in mind the storage time? also I think I heard you mention that you can send your stuff to amazon? do you mean you sell to Amazon?! btw love the vids, new subscriber :)!
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
Yay! first thanks for subscribing!! :) if we're buying for ebay we try to buy items that we're not sitting on for more than a month after listing. We do amazon FBA (fulfilled by amazon) we send items in, they sell them, ship them etc, we get paid lol.

Haha, you better that CSI game. I think they recalled it because it uses asbestos for the fingerprint kit. Maybe the fixed it, but honestly, I read about the recall. And maybe it's a Florida thing... but I uess these sellers don't have internet? They honestly can't look this stuff up on ebay? Why even have a garage sale it you're going to sell stuff for $1 that's worth $170. I'm happy for you, but just playing devils advocate here. It's not what I see on the west coast unfortunately.. Good luck
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
again, must just be your area. although we have friends out there doing very well in the reselling game..and we've traveled all over buying and selling so maybe you're just not looking in the right location. Best of luck to you as well. Also, most people having a garage sales could case less about looking stuff up on ebay and even if they do remember you have to open an ebay account, open a paypal act, etc. takes about 2wks to a month for the money from your first sale to clear, most "garage sale" peeps don't want to wait. Cheers!
mapezaid (1 year ago)
Maybe it's because I live in the SF Bay Area, but most of the garage sales I go to have done their research. As soon as I try to bargain they say 'will it just sold on ebay for $$$'... not much to argue against there, no margin to be had. Even goodwill seems to be doing it (try to buy video games there -- they're like 30-40$ each), although they do screw up once in a while and charge 5$ for a 60-70 dollar product. However, they only do this like once a day here. So unfortunately it isn't feasible (as far as I can tell) to make any realistic living out here on reselling from stores/garage sales. Beer money basically. Guess I need to find a good wholesaler which so far seems to be a total crapshoot. Or just go back to making tons of money stuck in a cubicle. Kind of sucks!
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
Awesome on the games!! Definitely look into wholesalers in your area. You're on the right track with FBA :)
mapezaid (1 year ago)
I'm sure there's money to be made -- I think maybe you need to be in the less populated or more suburban areas. I just can't imagine a scenario where you could make 100k a year re-selling from goodwill/SA here. You would have to have a specialty wholesaling niche. At least that's been my experience for the past few months. Anyway I still think your vids are really informative, especially on the ebay selling techniques (listing/photos/ect) and the FBA information (I was able to sell a bunch of rare video games on Amazon for very good money, like 15X margin -- the problem there is, as usual, finding a good source who doesn't know what they're worth). Good luck!
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
damn that does suck. we know a bunch of people doing six figures+ in cali. just gotta have the right connections I guess :)

Any advice on best way to pack & ship printers? I just bought two officejet printers that are barely used and in their original boxes. They are just a touch bigger than a home printer. Should I pack the original box with some type of padding so the printer is secure? Would you keep the printer in original box then put that original box into another box to ship? I've heard FedEx is best for shipping heavier/larger items...what do you use? Thanks so much for any insight as I only have sold clothes and not much videos for packaging and shipping bulky items.
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
Danielle Hill thank you! We try our best :)
Resellers Domain (1 year ago)
RALLI ROOTS thanks for your quick response per usual. You guys should be voted the "Youtubers most connected with your audience".
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
Danielle Hill we should do a video for packing large stuff. Yes, in the original box, then I to another brown box. Fedex or ups ground is going to be your best bet. Usually fedex.

Ryan, are you ever concerned with over saturation and business losses, due to so many new resellers learning from videos like yours and trying their hand at eBay? What motivates you to share your information?
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
pinksugarfluff not at all. The fact is only 1% of people watching our videos will actually go do it and even then most will give up. We give away this info to help people out. We started with nothing and grew our biz big. Just want to give back a bit.

Camry is a great no-nonsense car. We bought a 1998 Camry in 2000 and kept it until 2014 when some moron crashed into us and totaled it. During that time the only repair needed was a power steering pump.

Ryan - just an FYI there is a phone app called "Yard Sale Treasure Map" that ties into Craigslist. So you don't need to print out the map of where yard sales are located. Just sayin'...

Keith Hunt (2 years ago)
Here's a question ypu might not get too often. If you don't mind answering, what do you guys do for health insurance. I've worked part-time in the middle of the night for 10yrs to keep my family covered. If I quite, I know I would be able to invest a lot more time and energy into my entrepreneurial efforts, and recoup the loss of that paycheck, but the loss of my free health, dental, and vision coverage for me, the wife and 2 kids would hurt!
RALLI ROOTS (2 years ago)
Keith Hunt fair enough. That is a good question! We pay out of pocket for private health coverage and we have a nest egg for any serious emergencies. It's just the two of us and we're in good health but I can see why you'd want to keep that job, especially for your family. Fortunately, we have enough set aside for now that is isn't an issue. Cheers!
Keith Hunt (2 years ago)
Great video!
swtjames23 (2 years ago)
Why lie? What do you stand to gain by telling people a "CSI DNA Lab" that you bought for $2 sells for $200 even though you know it only sells for $40 shipped. Is it so we think you're cool? I don't get it.
RALLI ROOTS (2 years ago)
okay :) cheers, thanks for the advice lol
swtjames23 (2 years ago)
Your "comps" researching is flawed. Just because people are asking a certain price for something on Amazon doesn't mean that's what it's selling for. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=csi%20dna%20lab&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&rt=nc&_trksid=p2045573.m1684 I'm not trolling or trying to be a douche. There's just a lot of misinformation out there and you seem like a smart guy, just don't start exaggerating your profits to get views.
RALLI ROOTS (2 years ago)
hmmmm...yeah, comps don't lie but thanks for your input :) https://www.amazon.com/Planet-Toys-CSI-DNA-Lab/dp/B0002L9IWI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486149642&sr=8-1&keywords=CSI+DNA+Lab

Hi Guys, new sub here! 👋🏻 Quick question, I've seen in your past videos that you guys do really well with expired ink cartridges. Have you ever had any problems with customers returning the cartridges due to them being dried up? Thanks and wishing you lots of success.
RALLI ROOTS (2 years ago)
Hey there Maria! Good question, we always clearly list the exp date when we sell them and the short answer is yes, but it maybe happens one in 200 transactions for us thankfully.
Felicia Queen (2 years ago)
I'm so happy I found you guys love the videos. So inspiring 😊
RALLI ROOTS (2 years ago)

RALLI ROOTS (2 years ago)
we have been reselling full time for a year tomorrow actually :) certainly doable, we started with $200 out of our house and built from there. Go get em!

Jay B (2 years ago)
Cool. Thanks Ryan for your advice.
RALLI ROOTS (2 years ago)
Jay Bridge hey! Not usually, the amount they sell for/we paid for them is so small that if there ever is an issue we just refund the buyer.

Please comment on the news that Amazon is suspending merchants that are selling books that are still sealed in their original packaging as new, when the seller does not have proof that they were bought directly from the publisher or an authorized publisher-distributor and the implications of risk in the future of selling items as new in other categories on Amazon. These suspensions took place without any prior warnings.
Bin Fontillas (2 years ago)
Awesome finds Ryan!!! When selling, what makes you decide to auction off items or have a fixed price? And when you auction items off do you use the prices eBay usually recommends for the item? Do you use a reserve price?
RALLI ROOTS (2 years ago)
Bin Fontillas good questions. 90% of the time they go up as BIN. Not a huge fan of auctions. We go buy sold comps
Aaron (2 years ago)
Now that you've reached this level, how do you scale up from here? Do you need to look at completely different income streams, or can you always just buy and sell more?
RALLI ROOTS (2 years ago)
Aaron also, most of our money is made from wholesale not from garage sales so yes, the scale is infinite. I know resellers clearing 10mil a year easily.
RALLI ROOTS (2 years ago)
Aaron that's always the question. How big can you take it? The answer I give is as big as as you want to have the lifestyle you want. I.E. we don't want 100 employees and a big overhead right now. If we can bring in six figures and still travel a lot, that's what we're looking for. It's different for everyone.
Bruce Coulson (2 years ago)
Enjoying your videos. Do you carry liability insurance for your business?
Lynn Beers (11 months ago)
Ralli Roots why would you need insurance?
RALLI ROOTS (2 years ago)

Hey Ryan, again thx for the video. great information. Sorry to ask this question. if you answeresd it a previous video please tell me and I will watch it again. I just listed a few items on ebay and i went fixed price and free shipping. should I went with auction?.. again thank you.
RALLI ROOTS (2 years ago)
HEY THERE! Thanks for watching :) so that is a personal preference but we definitely much prefer listing just as you did. Buy it now(obo) with free shipping. There are tons of different ways that work to list that is just the way we found works best for us. Thanks again and keep watching!
Mikey Julian (2 years ago)
Awesome! Quick question though. How do you go about selling expired ink?
Mikey Julian (2 years ago)
Thanks!
RALLI ROOTS (2 years ago)
usually just list them on ebay with the exp date clearly shown. they sell same day most of the time if priced right.
