Please watch: "How to MAKE MONEY at Garage Sales | Selling on eBay & Amazon | Reselling Business | Ralli Roots"
lol, I'm going through your backlog. This video is from a time long ago (2 years) when Alli insisted on doing her makeup every time she was on camera and didn't know yes that she's the best thing on this channel.
Hey guys, great video! Just wanted to ask you what tool-on-the-go (cell phone, etc) do you guys use to scan products to sell on eBay and Amazon? Besides the typical Scoutify2, or Amazon seller app. Thanks a lot in advance! Cheers
Hi guys! SUCH good information, thanks! It was odd to not see Callie! How long has she been working for you? OOOHHHH I ordered my t-shirt a couple days ago and it is my Christmas gift to myself, I can NOT wait to get it. Hugs ((((888)))), Pug snorts and Fist Bumps all around from Hipflippinmamma !! Happy Holidays!!
Have first class rates changed? I was under the impression that anything under 16 ounces could be shipped via first class. But I am finding different sources online saying 15.99 ounces and under and some saying anything under 13 ounces. That being said, I shipped something the other day that weighed 15 ounces, and lost out on $4 shipping cost. Did this change or am I misunderstanding something?
Where do you guys get your boxes for those odd shaped/large items? The poly bags seem great for clothes/non-fragile stuff... but I seem to have all these random things I need to box up and boxes/filler can end up being 10-15% of GP if you don't get them in bulk... I was charged $17 for a box and some packing Styrofoam at one of those mailing places (now that's a great scam) -- all for a $130 DVD player. I still made money but not as much! I'm tempted just to dumpster dive and get boxes from retail stores that are throwing them away! Ace hardware had some great ones... Anyway, just curious what you guys use for boxes (and different fillers)... Cheers
Hi you crazy kids, I did this sort of thing years ago, like 20-25 years ago, before the internet. Went to yard sales, thrift stores, church fundraisers (the best), then went to the local big flea mkt (Raleigh, N.C.) a couple weekends a month and doubled our money, at least. Now that we're retired, here in S. Florida, considering doing the same thing, but going the internet route. People here, at flea mkts , are notoriously CHEAP!!! So the modern, legal way is the way to go. People selling at yard sales are truly AMAZED and GRATEFUL when we don't try to talk them down to a quarter. So please keep up the good work, you are a lot of help, always make sense, always are entertaining. Can't decide which of you is prettier.
My name is Tony and I live in New Jersey and very much interested in selling on eBay.
I have been looking at the business of selling on ebay for several weeks. While doing my research on the subject, I came across your videos. I’m reaching out to you because I have watched your youtube videos and I see that you have a lot of experience in selling on eBay. I have noticed that you buy items at whole sale to sell on ebay. I also have noticed that some people are also selling on eBay but they use the drop ship method. I'm just curious as to why you prefer to hold on to merchandise wouldn’t it be simpler to drop ship the items as oppose to storing and shipping items yourself? Before I jump into this business I need to know if this is the right move for me. Any advise that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.
Antonio Afanador hi there Tony. Thanks for watching our vids. So to put it simply there's two main reasons why we don't dropship. 1. Most of them are 100% scams. 2. We like to actually see the products we're selling and know what we're offering our customers before we sell the items to them. That's how you keep good feedback. Especially if you're just starting out. If you go straight to drop shipping I can almost guarantee you will lose money. Source locally and cut your teeth and grow from there. Cheers! Ryan
megan place cool! Yeah, we'll grab a beer at coppertail with other resellers every once in a while 😊 we do train people, but it's in small groups online. We're super busy on our own biz or we would do more.
Wow I never knew about that coupon to buy shipping supplies from eBay. I've been a premium store for over a year and have been missing out. Any other benefits I don't know about besides the obvious free listings?
new to your videos what an adorable happy upbeat couple. I've been selling of and on for 13 years and now going to fulltime. I have learned many things and the cushioned mat to stand on is a great idea! thanks !
Just sold my first item, thanks to you guys and rockstar as my main feed. the scariest thing about this (being new) is shipping. geez, i was like...crap, now what do i do!!???
All in all, i just sorta....guessed and i think it went well...paypal is still pending on his end but it said it went through and i already shipped the item, should i have waited until the payment was settled into my account first before shipping?
think it is waiting for the guy to receive the item. it said the money in is received (still in pending though), told me to ship the item...so i did, and has a shipping tracking number on the page. well see. just weird.
COOL! congrats on your first sale, I'm sure there will be many more. You
just have to take a deep breath and go for it sometimes. So, you never
ever want to ship the item until the payment as cleared your account.
Especially if it was an echeck payment that is waiting to clear.
Hopefully it's just being held because your account is new and it was
safe to ship, just be careful with that, but again congrats and keep it
Thanks for the video, this is very insightful stuff. Quick question: Do you use any studio kit for your picture? If you do what kind do you recommend? Also, what kind of camera do you use? I bought some brand new clothing really cheap and my apartment has very bad lighting, so that's why i'm kind of interested.
Great info on the UPS wholesale stuff. Thanks!
I am in Florida also and I use Fedex smartpost for large boxes as well but I always check the Fedex Ground/Home when shipping because certain weights and dimensions going to certain locations can be cheaper than Smartpost sometimes and they arrive faster. Every now and then there is a sweet spot for Priority mail being the cheapest as well, like in the 6-12 lb area at least that has been my experience. People living in other areas might have other variable shipping anomalies.
excellent vid. I learned early on to save any packaging (I sell on Poshmark). I tell folks in my house to also save their boxes and packing materials for me. It has helped me save so much money.
one question, though..for anyone that can help. I'm new to ebay as a seller. I've only had my account for maybe 2 months or so but just started listing a few weeks ago. I seem to be restricted to the amount I can list per month. Is there a way to get out of restriction purgatory?
no problem at all :) so the difference is the weight you can put in. for first class it has to be under 16oz for the padded flat rate, if it fits it ships so the weight doesn't matter, it can be 10lbs and its still only around $6 to ship.
I love using first class just because it helps with the ROI. other than that priority for everything else. I just never really checked FedEx's shipping cost but will now. It has been an amazing time since I first saw y'all's video with Chris Dunn about garage sales. I have made some easy money and it seems the sales have picked up a lot since my feedback has been building up. Great video and look forward to the next.
Got any tips on why I have watchers on my fixed price listings but no buyers. I tried the free shipping wasn't working out because I had my items listed a bit higher to cover it. I went back to buyer pays shipping and I got the same results. Thank you for any help your willing to share! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Ryan Roots Thanks for the tip! If you wouldn't mind looking at my listing to see what I'm doing wrong lol. One listing is item #162353411889. Again I appreciate your time! I hope to be on your level one day! 👍🏻
Eco Beast I would need to see the actual listing but with BIN you usually need to be priced under the lowest available price for the exact same item. If you have watchers you could try running a sale. Sometimes we do a 10% off sale to clear out inventory, works well.
As usual great video.
We just arrived in northeast Ohio where we grew up. Goodwills are a goldmine here. Wish it was summer garage sales are even better. Hopefully by Wednesday we will be in the Orlando area to hit up the bins and outlet Goodwill. Thanks!
Awesome Videos! I learn a lot from you guys! Question: Do you guys sell on Amazon? Also, if you can share with us in your best opinion on how to avoid getting suspended on eBay so that I can avoid that. I think that'll make a great video. Thanks!
+Ryan Roots Sure. I totally get that! I completely understand the prefacing of such topics with disclaimers because folks fail to hold themselves accountable ;)
I'm just curious about a vague overview. In brevity, if you will.. Do you keep all your receipts? How do you log garage sale purchases? Do you use a CPA? Tips / tricks?
No hard rules. Nothing that people could get sour about if they screwed their self over :(
