Do THIS to INSTANTLY Make your Jeans Look Tapered!

Do THIS to INSTANTLY Make your Jeans Look Tapered! You know how you'll often buy a pair of jeans and they'll fit perfectly around the thigh but then they'll fit just a little too big below the knee? Well, I usually get my jeans tailored, but every now and then I have an untailored pair or just a pair that I want to wear right away. In this case, I'm wearing this beautiful dusty pink jeans from Paige that I use this technique over cuffing them. While there's nothing wrong with giving your jeans a nice classic cuff, pinching in the fabric at the base on the inside seam of the jeans before folding them over gives you an even better-fitted look. What do you guys think? Have you used technique before or do you have your own method? Leave a comment down below and let me know! What I'm wearing: Beenie: Uniqlo Sweater: Splendid Mills Jeans: Paige Sneakers: Ankari Floruss Here are my other channels: Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/marcelfloruss Snapchat: @onedapperstreet

Come on bro. This is called a pinroll it’s nothing new.
Modernist.Aloha (1 year ago)
Back in the 1980s, it was called pegging. I used to do this to my jeans and corduroys in junior high + high school in the '80s.
Rafael Barrera (1 year ago)
Yes but not all millennials know about it, like all things, whats old is new again.
pattgsm (1 year ago)
As a 16 yr old kid in Chicago 1989, we were pin rolling as well as as hand sewing our jeans and sewing in zippers to create the tapering. I remember in 1991 I was stationed in Italy talking w my Navy buddies from NYC that went to basic at Great Lakes. They were making jokes because they never seen this look and couldn't believe how we wore our pants in the Chi lol. I don't know where it started but it I know that it wasn't NYC.

Content creators does not always do content for the already well-informed subscribers in mind, it's a good idea to do videos like these to attract potential new subscribers who are beginners.

Back in the 1980s, we used to this. It was called "pegging."
One Dapper Street (1 year ago)
no way didn't know that! thanks for sharing.

Hey Marcell! Concerning pants tailoring, do you go to suit tailors to tailor your pants/jeans as well? Or do you visit a tailor who doesn't necessarily specialize in anything particular. I'm asking because I'm desperately looking for good local tailor, but I'm afraid suit tailors might not want to do anything non-suit related.
One Dapper Street (1 year ago)
I've never looked for a distinction in the kind of tailor I visited -- any one i've gone to know their way around a suit as well as a pair of jeans with the exception of some special fabrics that require appropriate machinery such as leather or suede! hope this helps!
David Lui (1 year ago)
Hey Marcel, where would you suggest getting good quality jeans at an affordable price?
David Lui (1 year ago)
My bad, I meant an affordable price to a college student, so I guess options under $50-70?
One Dapper Street (1 year ago)
can you define "affordable price"? That means very different things to different people :)
Matias Gomez (1 year ago)
Hahahah i thought i was the only who knew this
One Dapper Street (1 year ago)
haha so did i and then i got roasted in the comments hahaha
mohammed nabhan (1 year ago)
Can you make a video on how to style these unusual colors? Coincidentally, Just bought those exact jeans from paige (but in a darker shade) a couple of days ago because I have all the other shades of blue and wanted something different
mohammed nabhan (1 year ago)
One Dapper Street awesome, looking forward to it!
One Dapper Street (1 year ago)
ah amazing haha glad to hear it!! you mean the dusty pink? that color is gonna be included in my spring trend video really soon and i'll be talking more about it, but noted, mayeb i'll do a video on just that!!
Potato Sir (1 year ago)
This is the sort of dry shit that will stop you in your tracks from getting anywhere with your channel. If you want to mention how to pinroll, do it subtly in like within another video as a side note because more people know how to do it than don't. Slapping on a clickbait title on a video on how to fucking pinroll in 2018 obliterates your ethos. That's just my advice to you, take it how you will.
One Dapper Street (1 year ago)
Thank you, I really appreciate your advice. This video is for people that don’t know what a pinroll is. I didn’t even know that’s what it was called until other people commented on this video. If I learned something, I’m pretty sure a lot of other people will learn something too. p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica}

Marcel Beaudoin (1 year ago)
Hey Marcel! First off, we have the same name! Secondly, what would you tell a tailor to do when you bring your jeans in to get them tapered? I want to bring some of mine in to get them tapered like your jeans, but am not sure exactly what to say to the tailor. Thanks in advance!
Marcel Beaudoin (1 year ago)
Thanks so much for the quick reply - I'm sure they'll look awesome! I love all your vids because I usually dress "street-ish" when I'm being casual (distressed tapered jeans, etc) but I'm heading to law school in the fall so all the more formal stuff you do is helping a lot right now!
One Dapper Street (1 year ago)
haha go #TeamMarcel lol I usually tell them to taper the jeans "from mid-calf down," and my opening is about 6.5-7 inches big depending on how thick and stretchy the denim is. if they stretchy and thin: 6.5", thick and/or no strech: closer to 7"
spoiled brattt (1 year ago)
Love your video

It is definitely worth noting! And for me I knew about the pin roll, but never thought to take away that it actually tapers it up pretty nicely now that I think about it makes a lot of sense! Keep up the "Quick-Tips" these have all been soooo helpful already!
One Dapper Street (1 year ago)
ayeeee thanks arthur :)
Vic Speaks (1 year ago)
It's 2018 I'd think everyone would have learn how to pin roll their pants by now. Still a good video nevertheless cause I'm sure those who do not know how to, would be searching on YouTube and found this video really helpful :)

Big Mark (1 year ago)
Not gonna work on guys who have big calves 😭 I tried.
Big Mark (1 year ago)
cj stats i know but they don't look good on me anyway 😭 that's why i never cuff my jeans
One Dapper Street (1 year ago)
yeah agreed with what cj said :)
cj stats (1 year ago)
Big Mark If they are too tight on your calves to fold, that wouild mean they are tapered enough anyway.
