And another thing I recommend is to do your numbers on the product you wanna private label,like do a deep history research into it,see if it’s a good selling product.dont let this video up here and the comments put you off doing private label,a lot of the people that moan saying there’s to much competition are the same exact ones not putting the research into there potential product before they buy.take this business seriously.and if amazon or any other seller try’s to mimic your product go and make yours better.lots of ways to do this.

There’s a million ways to make money on amazon,regarding private label before you go into this business model you must expect competition from amazon and other sellers..be different from all your competitors including amazon by making yours in to a bundle offer with something else,make yours better than amazons product.sell on multiple markets like Europe/Australia and so on.its a good thing that amazon is pushing all the cry babies from selling because if you can’t make money on this platform you shouldn’t be selling at all.go work a 9 te 5

Amazon isn't stupid. They built their brand on the backs of Sellers. You can use their FBA warehouse at an ever-escalating cost. Look what they did with books. FBA Fees can be over 50%. You will be welcome to sell on Amazon. But, you will be paying, dearly.

Amazon isn't going for off the wall private label products, they are going for the big name guys. The people making 3-10k wont be effected much if at all. The diapers will destroy big name diaper people, the niche diaper makers on amazon (or insert other product here) will still thrive because amazon doesn't make super niche amazon products. Cord, tote bags, tooth paste will all be amazon brands. good bye huggies, trident!

PL is played out. Now you need to be like Anker and launch a brand on Amazon and gain recognition by having social media influencers to do product giveaways w/ affiliate commission and then take that brand to Walmart stores to avoid complete dependency on Amazon.

lease read all the through ,,, no I think there should be a seller united walk out, so if all the $39.99 a month members quit for a few months, and stop listing items, there really would be an amazon crash that would happen, and then the sellers will get respect ,,, I never see this happening because there are too many fleas out there,,, , the ones which do race to the bottom, these people will say this is a great time to be selling -- they will say to themselves when all these people are protesting, I will list my items so I will be the only seller out there in the buy box. ---- the only way to get united is also getting buyers to realize a lot about Amazon and for them to protest for a week or two Have other platforms promote and market a buying halt from Amazon --- Advocating a week away from Amazon , " get away from the Amazon Jungle Sale " - it shall be called. Come get away - take a vacation and get away from Amazon and buy with us. I see this movement going into the brick and Mortar stores with sidewalk sales that will have sales - the get away from the Amazon Jungle Sale. The employees should do the same of a walk out ,,, maybe during Christmas week to have a big impact , as employeess do count As yea Amazon just did another bait and switch on their employees as well , Amazon performs the cookie trick with an outstretched hand - handing a cookie to an unsuspecting hard working employee , while amazon pretends to be a giver of good faith has a mallet awaiting hidden behind their back with the other arm, Amazon gave a slight raise to its employees, but then took away stock options and took away incentive bonuses to its employees, the tactics sound familiar, as it does the same to its sellers. Well not on my back, maybe you should stay, but the water here at this well is tainted . I have heard a few people mention this at meetups and sounds very interesting it is catching strength and momentum, to get rid of them before they get rid of you, because once they have their private label item manufactured and listed they don't need you. But they are using your 39.99 per month membership fees and all of their income generated from all of their fees charged, we are funding their product development and product marketing as they are rolling the very monies made from you and I to put us out of business, They don't care you and I took the time and effort to bring our products to the market - as they keep on moving forward to put more and more people out of business, nice company to support? Not me --- worry about you and not them,,, as There are more losers than winners selling on Amazon, they keep on enticing false hopes and dreams to small sellers, As we all have hopes of making it , so they pitch us against each other, as it turns into a race to the bottom. The products become outrageously too low priced for the small business owner to sustain his business, thereby he lowers his prices below cost just to get rid of his inventory, other sellers lower their prices just to compete, the vicious cycle continues seller after seller, as the carnage of defunct sellers piles up. All a part of Amazon’s big plan and picture. Amazon wins as it satisfies the buyers and its customers of prices below retail which is shipped to their customer's homes, as you and I are sacrificial lambs along the way for amazons self-fulfilling company, As we donate our inventory to them to use for their gain . Lets take a $ 100.00 item amazon will take 38.65 % in fees , 100 – 38.65 = $ 61.35 now you have to subtract cost of product to you, than all on your over head such as all fees associated with you sourcing the product, packing and shipping product to the FBA center, and all of additional overhead associated with this product. How much of a markup you have to place onto a product to support all of this overhead listed above meaning amazon , yours , and cost of product, Now if you supported your own independent website then the cost go down , but the pleasure goes up, if you again like I state insert your website while selling on amazon , make your selling name , the same as your independent website name , and prepare yourself to cover all the bases, with double exposure and building your name brand, use them don’t let them use you. As even if you have a three dollar lower selling price then you do on amazon , then you build a customer base. Not a three dollar lower price lower than the buy box of the guy that is getting rid of his inventory, but three dollar lower price than you sell on Amazon, become the King of Shipping and make deal with shippers , as UPS and Fex EX always make deals with local businesses. Every $1000, you sell Amazon takes $386.50 then minus your product cost. Their gig is up. The next hopeful seller comes along after watching the fake Youtube Videos and that new seller does the same , and as they lose money and still paying to lose money, As Amazon wins by charging you $ 39.99 a month then charging its customers $99.00 dollars for prime, great for them , and You where do you fall , yes I used the word Fall ,,, where do you fall from all of this . Time to leave is now !!!! Enjoy the holidays and leave, as I am now only selling on that platform on Q4 the rest is not worth it anymore. Seller beware Amazon is a Trillion dollar company,,!!! as a part of their marketing plan --- they hire and pay people to make videos on youtube unbeknownst to youtube, they hire plants to make videos of how easy and lucrative it is to sell on Amazon, Amazon makes a fortune from people that pay their $ 39.99 a month and do nothing with it their account, lets see how long this stays up as they took down my last post ,,, Hey Rockstar did you do this , did you take my post down !!!!

Great, you saying PL is going & Auction Professor saying ebay& Amazon RA & DS are going, sheesh. I think he said basically they'd pay to advertise their retail directly on Amazon, cutting out RA & DS. I was going to start PL but didn't like the Chinese quality, decided to OA/DS retail products initially.

Remember when Amazon was promoting Alexa so big! Bring in your home. Then they found out that when talking about ordering items or talking about like items somehow orders got placed?! This is what I call inside information. Nothing is private anymore! Everything you say can be heard and repeated and made cheaper! Everywhere you go your on cameras so what you buy is kept up with through data! If it wasn’t Walmart now Amazon. There will be another company before long.

As one of your videos said, things change. All the private label items are one reason I do not like to shop on Amazon. The price looks good but the private label items I've bought are cheap crap. They did it to themselves. If Amazon's plan is to do private label on items that have poor reviews then it's a win for them and the customer. I feel like some private label sellers are kinda like hit and run sellers. They sell a bunch of inventory under a private label and if it gets bad reviews they just make a new private label for an item to sell in the same or new category? If sellers want to private label then they should be stuck with that brand name for any private label item they sell. Is this not realistic at least in part or am I wrong about how private label works? On the other hand, the Amazon Basics items I've bought have been good quality for the price. After reading benchmark testing and buying Amazon Basics USB cables to try for myself, they are all I but now. Great quality for the price and actually performs as advertised. If you but a bunch of them they will sell like got cakes on eBay to those that know.

I've never bought anything from, or sold anything on Amazon. And I never will. It's really that simple. "We the people" need to stop it. If any re-seller buys or sells from or on Amazon then your just enabling them to screw you.

Private label sellers have been talking about this for years now. They essentially have been being used and conned by Amazon to find all the best products..then when Amazon sees what's selling, they private label all those same products themselves and undercut all the third party sellers and push them out of the market. Amazon has essentially been using third party sellers as their "free" market research department and then screwing you over when they get the information they need from you....and all the while underpaying, overworking, and treating their own workers like garbage. Typical crony corporate America at it's finest.

I'm all for free market economics but history tells us that NOTHING good is going to come from Amazon getting as big as they're planning and controlling and dominating every single market. After they've squeezed out any and all competitors and no one has any other choice to buy stuff from except for them they'll start to turn on the customer. I'm gonna call it right now that at some point in the next 10-15 years Amazon WILL get busted up and deregulated.

Ebay is doing a similar thing. They are pushing the huge Sellers/Corp products and squeezing out the medium to small sellers out. Also, Ebay is setting up there own drop shipping and eliminating most if not all drop shippers. Remember, all corporations are evil and there is nothing anyone can do about it. So, RELAX and sell what you can.

When are people going to realize that amazon is not that good of a company! All they do is structure their business to benefit themselves. The whole $15 minimum wage debacle they gave you one thing and took away another thing! They want to tell people they can own their own Amazon delivery business but I guarantee you that there is so much rules and regulations in favor of Amazon that they are just transferring all the liability over to you and basically you will be owning your own business is still working for them! When I thought about reselling years ago I called Amazon about opening an acc. When they told me all the rules especially the one about them owning ALL of MY sales data. I smelled that rat 10 miles away. Plus all the fees and changing rules. I never sold on Amazon and rarely bought from them. I look up items to buy on Amazon and search for the same sellers on eBay where I make my purchase. I seem the 2 main companies making money in the economy are the W and Amazon. Amazon seller = crash test dummies. No offense to the sellers who work their butts off but what Amazon is doing to them is DEAD WRONG!

Years ago when amazon first opened it told a small bookstore owner its plan to reap data and become a “company store” for every need imaginable via private label, industry expansion and forcing direct manufacture sales to kill retail outlets.

Honestly, I think Amazon is to shoppers what Starbucks is to coffee drinkers. Some people find it necessary to pay $5 for a cup of coffee to look hip and trendy to thier friends and co-workers, while guys like me know a great tasting cup of coffee can be found just about anywhere for 99 cents. Let's use the Mama Bear diapers as an example, say, size 3. Amazon's price is $36 for 160 (.225 each). Meanwhile, for $36.82 you can get 328 of the Parents Choice brand diapers from Walmart (.12 each). You're getting more than twice as many for a mear 82 cents more. Oh and Walmart will give you free shipping on that too, no prime membership needed. But see, it's not hip to have a Walmart box on your doorstep, much less enter the store but an Amazon delivery? Well then, you're sylin' now! ....and that's exactly what Amazon is banking on.

That's why I refuse to even sell on amazon..why go on a platform that is gonna be your competitor? I mean they have all the data they see what sells and for how much. All they have to do is source it cheaper undercut and whoosh they take that market.

When I go to the local merchandise mart I see a lot of food companies offering private labeling. Some clothing, candles, a few other lines. I would think those would be areas Amazon wouldn't go into. How much will a line of crockpot soups bring in? And after they start selling the 5 or 10 most popular flavors will they be carrying Mediterranean Lamb Shank Dinner or Country French Pork and White Beans?

I have been doing private labeling for years on Amazon along side doing RA and OA, I am working on building my brands off Amazon on my own website and have my own customer base, never put all your eggs in one basket,really need learn to market your own products to customers

If you have your own products and or private label there should be no way that Amazon.com is your only selling platform. Your main platform should always be your own sources ie. Websites or "Brick and Mortar". It just doesn't make good business sense to only use eBay or Amazon as your main source. Stop limiting yourself get out and be your own Amazon or eBay.

This sounds a little like the Trader Joe/Aldi model. Almost all of their merchandise has unique private label names. High quality and more organic. Remember Whole Foods. Customers are loyal to their brands. 2000 Aldi stores have popped up in 35 states. We have 21stores in the greater Orlando area plus a couple of Trader Joes. These stores are usually packed with customers. What Amazon is doing makes sense for them. They are squeezing out the weak players in the private label market and taking full advantage of increasing their own market share. What Amazon is doing overall should be of concern to everyone.

Because the sellers are Amazon's test subjects. They don't have to invest in inventory to test sales. That's what sellers are for. That's why they keep your sales data. Once the market is identified and proven they go to your supplier and undercut you and of course their gonna drop you in sales ranking and boost their item to the top. Even if a buyer finds your item they put their ad on you listing! Pretty brilliant if you ask me but oh so so nasty/dirty. Amazon can't lose. You pay for the listing. You pay for an advertising boost. You pay to not have their ad and if you don't they might get the sale from your listing. All round win for Amazon. Sellers not so much.

My uncle use to do private label for several products and was killing it for over a year. Then several others starting copying and ruined the profit margins until nothing was left for every product. Now just does FBA. Can't imagine having to fight Amazon for sales along with all those who copied your items.

How much of a markup you have to place onto a product to support all of this overhead listed above meaning amazon , yours , and cost of product, Now if you supported your own independent website then the cost go down , but the pleasure goes up, if you again like I state insert your website while selling on amazon , make your selling name , the same as your independent website name , and prepare yourself to cover all the bases, with double exposure and building your name brand, use them don’t let them use you. As even if you have a three dollar lower selling price then you do on amazon , then you build a customer base. Not a three dollar lower price lower than the buy box of the guy that is getting rid of his inventory, but three dollar lower price than you sell on Amazon, become the King of Shipping and make deal with shippers , as UPS and Fex EX always make deals with local businesses. Please read all the through ,,, no I think there should be a seller united walk out, so if all the $39.99 a month members quit for a few months, and stop listing items, there really would be an amazon crash that would happen, and then the sellers will get respect ,,, I never see this happening because there are too many fleas out there,,, , the ones which do race to the bottom, these people will say this is a great time to be selling -- they will say to themselves when all these people are protesting, I will list my items so I will be the only seller out there in the buy box. ---- the only way to get united is also getting buyers to realize a lot about Amazon and for them to protest for a week or two Have other platforms promote and market a buying halt from Amazon --- Advocating a week away from Amazon , " get away from the Amazon Jungle Sale " - it shall be called. I have purchased hundreds of private label items of Chinese origin on Amazon and most have been low quality garbage. By the way most Amazon reviews pertaining to these same Chinese private label items are FAKE REVIEWS.

U R 100% on the money tuff tuff market always better to start own website with your own private label, then if you get booted or played against from amazon then you always have your own website. ps on your private label that you sell on Amazon, always have your brand be your own website name URL so customers can find you off of Amazon.

Makes sense to do more private label. Wouldn't surprise me if they start making their own condoms, dildos... etc. Also, I think more brands, and categories will become gated. Only manufacturers, Amazon, distributors, and mega sellers will be allowed to sell most items, so they can keep most of the revenue for themselves. This is bad news for small sellers.

THERE is a way around gated. I found a way to list with the gate down. Everybody, not just AMZ is going private label. Target comes to mind. Walmart, you name the company and they're branding. I wouldn't be surprised if ToysRUs does private label when they reopen.

Otterbox is an actual brand not a private label. It was a created product by them. They may have outsouced the manufacturing from China. And Chinese manufacturers created a generic form of the Otterbox for other people to private label. If you create your own product and your own brand it is not technically a private label. Since there is a patent on the product. Technically all others " private label Chinese bs" is just a counterfeit. So yes Amazon is cracking down on people private labeling counterfeit junk OR doing it to create a monopoly. Either way this is bad. Hope that makes sense. Technically all generic cases are a counterfeit of the original design not the brand. Which is practically the same thing minus the loopholes
