All the points are good advice and true, I go every week to goodwill outlet in Tacoma Washington, and I have really found things of great value, fine new clothes, expensive branded handbags, good tools, even a collection of silver coins , all just for a few dollars.
STOP TELLING PEOPLE TO BE AGGRESSIVE. I'm there for the bargains, NOT to get involved in some low-level brawl. I usually let the aggressive assholes fight one another to get at the bins the MINUTE the bins arrive on the floor and then go through the bin when all the drama is over. Because THEIR treasures are not MY treasures. And I don't need to fight any one for MY treasures.
Ive been doing this for 10 years... everyone wants to tell their success stories to the world . Blab blab blab on the web . Then show up to their honey hole "the bins" and see 20 new faces and no room for you to even look. You find a quite way to hustle ... stay quiet about it. Now you can watch your go to flip items getting put in the scale by everyone else . Congrats genius
#1- Theres enough items to go around. and if not, then your not looking hard enough, or not doing enough research. #2- 98% of everyone quits within the first few months. #3- if your relying on ONE SPOT or ONE SOURCE for purchasing then you need to expand and open up to other places and suppliers
I've gotten paper cuts and touched something VERY moist....gross. I didn't wear gloves before because I wanted to feel the fabric but since this bin trip will be for PoshMark, i'm going to wear gloves.
My wife likes to scoot down the line quickly... I'm a planter.
This is MY spot. 😉 I'm not pushy but my big body can block a large space over a table. 😂
But i have had ppl just come and lean over me and grab things.
One time i found a pile of about 30 dvds and started to cover and swoop the pile and some lengthy guy comes over and leans above me and grabs one. 😂 only one though, but i still felt like he took something that was mine.
Like a dog who just had some food taken... Thats mine.😂
Nothin u can do tho... Swoop up faster 😂
My 1 tip!... Work on your swooping ability.. Can you hold 30 dvds in your arms while ppl swoop In around u? 😁 get them shop til you drop arms. 😆
No cart allowed in new isles here for the first half hour. 😉
P.s. i paid roughly 3.50$ for a metal 3 wheel razor scooter by itself at $1.57 a pound... Not bad at all. 👍 new grip tape and handle bar grips for 1$ each on ebay and it looks like new. 😉
Many deals to find.
That is one of my thousands of deals i found in a spare hour or two spent there. 👍👍👍
Love your video I am a bargain barn junkie too... The friends one is so true I have multiple friends that are regulars and the managers know me by name and what I am always looking for, so one saved me a baby swing was a great deal love it
Does anyone ever ask the managers if a type of bin is coming out next? For example I only go for books but sometimes there's no book bins out so I don't know whether to wait for the next rotation or to just leave.
I don't agree with the aggressive approach or black Friday approach. I was an avid shopper of the outlet store and people there look like pigs at a trough. They dont act human one lady at the outlet store here tried to get into a physical fight with one of the attendees. Another one was running in and out of bins just throwing everything into her cart and then jumping in front of everyone and literally snatching things out of other peoples hands and carts. Because of this now goodwill blows a whistle whenever a new bin is coming out and tells everyone to leave the floor go behind a white line and then when the bin is set they yell "come and get it" and everyone runs over each other literally on top of each other trying to get to one stupid bin only to find Christmas decorations. It doesn't have to be that way and i really wish goodwill would step up and stop people who behave this way and stop treating re-sellers as animals. It may be an outlet store but at the end of the day its a store like any other. Ive seen a 5 ft. woman get trampled and the police have even been called. Then again, this is Springfield MA so maybe its just my ghetto city
Yup thats pretty much the way it goes in every city. ITS 100% WRONG. I wish they would handle it different also, but they make a lot of money off those clothes they couldn't move otherwise, so they don't care. It sucks. I agree with you. But those people are usually from a 3rd world country and don't know any better, and the money putting food on their table and their kids is usually to great to control them.
I went to the Ft Lauderdale bins for the first time on Friday. I had my cart on the wall with some things in it. Well somebody took my cart and tossed my stuff in the closest bin. And when I told and employee he asked, "did you have your cart covered" so it's an unspoken rule to cover your cart. I've never heard of that before. I thought being on the wall with items in it was enough for somebody to know it was being used. And at that point there were no more free carts. And we are $1.75 /lb for textiles
I love the comment that you said, "make friends". That is so true! I always ask people what they are looking for, and have found some stuff for others and then I have had others find stuff that we were looking for also. People should be kind to one another. Karma is a real thing. What goes around, comes around. We have great luck, by being kind to others. :)
Hey RockstarFlipper, I went to the one outlet for the first time and a lady yelled at me saying all those items were hers when I reached into the bins but they weren't in her cart or hands. You say to be aggressive but I get scared thinking they'll hit me or something. Should I have just taken it and leave?
Hi. New Subscriber here. I have never been to one of the outlet stores. When I look for the "buy the pound" stores online, I can only find a very few. I do however see several "outlet stores" Are all of the Goodwill Outlet Stores "buy the pound?"
I know I'm a little late to watch this. Great tips! You definitely need to know what the rules are at your local bins because they are different everywhere. I've been in Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Dayton, and S. Carolina. All different. I have never had trouble getting a cart at any of them. In Dayton you don't have to wait for them to tell you to shop. It's a nightmare. People grab stuff as it rolls by. In Cincinnati and S Carolina you don't park your cart, you keep it with you. In Dayton I have to keep clothes, shoes, glass, books, purses, hats all separate. Rules are different everywhere.
is it mainly sellers who go to the bins? Looking for basically the same stuff you are? jw...
Also, i live near a Salv. Army, do they do the bins too? I ha ve never noticed, how do i find out?
So many Qs, sorry.
Alrighty Casey im going to officially go to the outlet with your advice in mind, gonna copy down some brands you look out for and hope it works out well for me. 1 question tho, do you buy all the ties or just a specific brand?
hi, i was just wondering, if anyone resells on ebay, can you tell me how to file taxes as a reseller, what do i list my 'job' as? also do i need to ask h&r block for a 1099 or will ebay send me one in december? ive been selling part time for years but im just getting started doing it fulltime and thinking ahead for next year
Here your supposed to keep your cart at arms length at all times. They all keep our carts on the side, but that's the nice part of making friends. They keep an eye out for your stuff and vice versa. The bad part is the people who use the carts shopping and they are everywhere and you can't get through.
i made the mistake of looking through unattended carts (my first time going). a group of haitian woman screamed at me from across the room, lol. i had no clue. i thought it was just stuff that was ditched or just leftover stuff to sell. oops. never again.
Unfortunately I live in GA where they don't have these. They only have the goodwill retail locations. Do you know of any other places that do it that aren't goodwill. If I do decide to drive 3 hours do you think it'll be worth the drive?
I just started going to the bins, and there's a guy there that comes every day, he's obviously a book seller, and just takes his cart and literally scoops hundreds of books at a time and goes in the corner and scans them all, so there's nothing left to look at. I'm not sure if I should talk to the manager or not, since I'm a newbie and he's a regular. They must know what he's doing and I guess they're ok with it
Cindy, at our bins people are not allowed to do that. they call it SCOOPING. Women use to do that with purses and they put a stop to it. But he's SMART & knows what he's doing. You should go do what he does also but BEAT HIM there
omg yr like my idol lol.
i starting living thriftier because of you and i just found a sandwich in the trash and it was still mostly good! i gave up my home and now i just hang out in parking lots. love the videos!

Thanks for your informative videos, they're great! I've never been to a Goodwill Outlet store but now I'm putting it on my list of things to do. Question... How do you deal with the issue of bed bugs? Going through all that clothing and household items carries a big risk of bed bugs. I ask because I had this problem from bringing home stuff before before. Very costly thing to eradicate, ugh.
HI... is there a way to buy from ailbaba and sell in amazon and eBay with Without shipping the items to the house ..i want to sell the items direct from first site to the second . I am from Bahrain and i hope you an help me . +973 39888395
I have heard of people doing it but you have to get your supplier to agree to ship to the customer once the item sells, AND then they could steal the customer.. You have to be VERY VERY careful. I don't recommend it. Its easier to just buy it and have it shipped to you.
I see from the comments below that you're in Tampa. I live in Sebring and, according to the Goodwill website, the bins closest to me are in Lakeland (a 2-hour drive one way for me). Have you ever been there? I've been wondering if it's worth the ride. The last time I was in Lakeland (for a doctor's appt.), I went to the Goodwill and Salvation Army thrift stores and their prices were outrageous! I saw a solar flower from Dollar Tree that was priced $3.16! Of course, everything at Dollar Tree is $1. I wonder if the bin prices in Lakeland are as outrageous as the store prices.
The bins are by the pound. So for clothes you pay $.99 or $1.49 a pound i cant remember at lakeland. I have been there many times but its been awhile, i stick to my lock bin store, although lakeland is just as close. You should def check it out. thanks!!
Do all goodwill a do this? I've never been early in the morning because of work but I can go some days and then head out I'm a operator in oilfield so I can start when I need just have to check my wells before dark
What's up bro! Awesome video man, I do all these things also. Which weigh and pay do you go to? We hit st. Pete.. We bring lunch with us also and keep it in a cooler in the car. We will go out in the middle of the day and load up the car, grab a bite, and go back in for more! Happy Florida picking bro.
Went to Austin Tx Bins yesterday. Very uninspiring. We got there early and they had not started dumping. It took a while for them to start. By lunch time, things picked up but we had to head back to San Antonio. I did find a few things that could do well. My little small dingy San Antonio outlet has some great stuff. Austin is bigger, but not more exciting. Austin stays open for 24 hours. Go figure that one out.
