Hi, can someone help me here. I'm an individual private seller selling a few bits and bobs but it says this service (sponsored listings) is not available with my account. Is this service only available to specific accounts? Thanks.
Thanks for the reply man.I'm finally able to promote that certain item.It appears that it didn't recognize newly listed items so i had to wait for like 12 hours or so, but I'm still having a problem with another item ( a real book) it is weird how i cannot promote it
Hi! Thank you for this video. This really helps starting sellers on eBay. I have a question regarding promoted listings, would you recommend this stores with less than 50 items listed? Is large volume of listing required?
They won't show me impressions any more for weeks now and the bidding doesn't make a lot of sense. Oddly, some times lower bids can spurn more traffic.. I definitely miss when they required 2qty because back then I just made my quantities 2 and then set them back to 1 after starting the canpaign... now there's more competition :)
remove mic from your table or put vibration dampening material under it's base. the audio would improve without hearing the noises of hands or whatever hitting the desk. i find it distracting. good info though, thanks!
Quick question Casey on promoted listings... if I accept a best offer on a promotional listing is the fee still based on the negotiated percentage of the original cost of the item or the offer I accept?
I had almost no sales due to not listing daily. I started 2 campaigns and just did it on all 500+ listings and my sales have started coming up. I was close to closing my ebay store but now I have hope again... listed 50 new items last week and about to dive into my next batch. Im ALIVE again! :)
I Ran One With the $30 Credit They Gave Me, But Saw No Sales at All. Of Coarse I Only Promoted 1 Category and Only Did One Campaign For That Cat.
It DID However Increase Impressions, But Like Your's, Slowly Dropped Off Over Time.
This Was More Of a Test Run So I Could See Results.
I Believe it is Possible That When The Campaign is Initially Activated, It Is Higher in the Search Results, Similar To When You Create a New Listing.
it May Be That if You Add More New Listings To The Campaign, As Well As Having Multiple Campaigns, It May Help Keep Your Impression Level at a More Consistent Rate.
This Will My Next Test.
I told you I was selling big! thanks for the vid. FYI: i called eBay and found out that the 30$ credit us best sellers get is given to us at the end of each quarter b/c I noticed I was paying/being charged for it. I was a little taken off guard that I had to pay for it until I get the credit, but it all works out in the end, so whatever!
Can I have your thoughts? Some of the issues I've came across with promoted listings is all my sales for 2 weeks have been through promoting my item which results in more fees (not a bad thing) but, now this brings me on the topic of percentage rates I've found trending only gives you sales I tried 5% in the UK trending clothing rate is about 12.5% and today I went in to monitor it and the trending percentage has gone up to 13.1% how long until this is at 20% trending, which in the UK this will bring your fees to a total of 32% and eBay are getting tons more money, what is confusing me they advertise it get an edge on your competitors if theirs trending rate that's not going to be possible.
We have been using Promoted Listings since March. It does give more exposure. Many items show in the top 10 in search results. All of our items are promoted but only around 3 out of 10 sales are charged a fee. Buyers are still buying most items outside of Promoted Listings. Don't forget about the $30 credit each quarter. Mike
So I'm seeing everyone on YouTube promoting and pushing promoted listings. Honestly what I see snow balling here is all or most sellers running to do this and obviously there's only so much room at the top of a search result but now we're all paying 19% instead of 9 or 10% commission. Sounds like a win win for Ebay. Yes I agree if a very small percentage of sellers did the promoted listings it would work but I think realistically upwards of 80% of sellers are scrambling to do this now. I've ran a few experiments with items I know are super hot and I had them priced very well and to be completely honesty I saw no increase in views above normal. And that was at highest percentage. I'm always on board with you Casey my man but I must say I'm very skeptical on these "promoted listings". But perhaps I'm wrong. I'll keep experimenting . Keep up the awesome work and great videos !
Thanks for this topic! I've been wanting to try this and this information has helped a ton. Always enjoy your content! You along with Ralliroots are the very best ebay youtuber's and all of us sellers are very lucky to have you!
Promoted listings have been a nightmare for me. I was charged $6 each listing before they even sold. My items were no where to be found in the search engine. I called ebay twice, both times the call went to india and they had no idea what to do. On call #3 they said they would cancel all the promotional listings for me "as a courtesy". Ebay has been screwing up alot lately. They switched all my listings to 7 days instead of 30 so i went over my 250 listings and got charged out the ass. And i saw my views were super low, so i searched for my stuff and couldnt find 3/4 of my listings. Not happy with them and thinking of closing both of my stores with them.
Leigh Ann when I've gone in to change a couple things on my listings it sometimes tells me they aren't active. How can you tell for sure they aren't active in search? I'd love to know! I'm with you on this one. Thanks!
Nobody used my password. I put the items up for promotion at 5% (which shouldnt be charged till the sell) and within minutes my account balance was pretty high. Here, i was charged $6 per listing up front. 3 phone calls now, the last lady said she fixed it but as of this morning the charges are still there. Every month for the last few months i notice them sneaking in charges or not taking the right fees. Or not having my listings visible. And ive called so many times and they say "tech support will fix it" and they dont. Next time im canceling my account. Im not gonna keep getting scammed by them
It looks like you can list in promoted listing with only one item? It used to be, you could only list on promoted listing if you had multiples of that listing you're promoting. So it changed? If so, that' great!
Promoted listings has been working for me! And the $30 credit they give basic store owners is plenty for what I use it for but I have had an increase in sales with it. It shows you how many sales you get with them. It's great.
I do have a question, I get that 1%, 10%, 15% is what you pay...but how does that percentage have to correlate with your listings. I mean there has to be something more to the percentage or we would all choose 1%.....because I would rather pay 1% vs. 20%
Australia has had promoted listings for months,
I think we may have been the guinea pigs.
I have this one item for example, have hundreds available
sell about 4-5 consistently per day..
When i promote that particular listing, (even at 20%)
sales instantly go to zero,
I promoted that one listing for 7 days, not a single sale in that week
promotion ended and item starts selling again...
I am not the only Australian seller this happens to,
Some Aussie sellers won't go near Promoted listings due to this happening to them too.
Whilst other Aussie sellers swear by it and use it all the time for all listings....
perhaps a glitch with some sellers,
in saying all that, i am in Australia, US may not have that glitch.
Casey, I've been using the promoting listings for my little eBay store and it defiantly works. I haven't been able to find a way to figure out what items are actually selling through promoted listings vs regular listings. Is there a way to figure this out?
