Just started watching y'all's videos , your tips are very smart, really appreciate finding you guys..what's your eBay Link?

I tried to sell our P90X DVD set as used even though we never used it. They canceled the listing saying we didn’t have the rights to sell it. There were tons of other listings for the exact same item.

Soo you deemed headphones as “fake” just because eBay said so?? Sometimes eBay does sh*t like this on behalf of manufacture just to kill off competitors.
Cody Mieras (7 months ago)
Thanks for all the good advice. By the way searching sold items is some of the best advice I've got from you guys. Makes it easy to buy only things that will sell. Thanks!

The 3 day suspension is simply evil. Shoulda had a 3 strike system....1st offense should not mean you should be off 3 days.. A good judge would rule against such a punishment.

I bought a pair of women's Cole Haan Shoes I can not find a comp for them. Also, there is not a logo stamped on the sole of these shoes. Could they be fake?

Very helpful video...I had a similar issue with a wallet and I used the term “Velcro” to describe how it closed and got a trademark violation...I guess I’ll have to say “hook and latch” from now on.

It's crazy what you don't think about but found out the hard way

I have been hit with a Vero a few times in my two years on ebay. Each one has been for a different issue. A claim was made for counterfeit, trademark, registered phrase on shirt, the word onesie. I never saw any of them coming. As I have said from the beginning "it is not if.....it is when" you will get a Vero violation. When it does happen ebay will be of no help to you. Then try to get a response from anyone. This issue should be your biggest fear as a seller on ebay. Negatives don't even come close to Vero. At least you have a chance of reversing a neg. Did you know recalled items can get you a Vero violation also? Or if they just don't want their products resold. I hear a new and different story at least once or twice a month. Two of the worst words are Velcro and onesie. Counterfeit.... its your word against theirs....even with a receipt from one of their outlets. You will need to prove your innocence. Some of these companies have head hunters that get paid piece work to find anything questionable.

how do you "know what will sell"? other then experience :P
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
Flaming Ember Seal - search for the item, left side of he screen there are option boxes. Scroll down and click on the one that says sold.
Flaming Ember Seal (1 year ago)
Hi Ryan how do you find that option on pc?. Thanks.
Voidroamer (2 years ago)
gotcha, yeah found your other video right after posting the question, but figured i'd leave it up as it may help someone else :)
RALLI ROOTS (2 years ago)
looking at sold comps on ebay. you can sort by sold items in the past 90days
RV thereyet? (2 years ago)
Ok, I'm confused on this one. How would you have known it was on the 'Vero' list? Is that something that can be checked, during research? Or maybe just something you have to live and learn? Dang, the headphones! Was it also headphones, Beats maybe~I think the first post I saw on your channel, awhile back, was the "almost went to jail" one~yikes!
RALLI ROOTS (2 years ago)
hahaha! yea, we obviously need to stay away from headphones! There is a list of brands on the VERO list but really its hit or miss. Ive actually sold items, shipped them and received positive feedback only for ebay to "pull down" an expired listing..its weird. LIve and learn :)

I sell a lot of headphones on Ebay, and I tend to avoid the LG tones. There's a ton of counterfeits on ebay and even amazon. It's up there with the beats fakes circling around.

Ryan I live in Hawaii, fairly new to flipping. what are a few benefits I could use here in hawaii to gain profit? Mahalo.
thrifty Penny (3 months ago)
Dont'e Jones ... Aloha. I started flipping on Oahu. The goodwill outlet there was insane. Do they still have bag days? You can make so much on those. Have fun!
Stephieandcheech (2 years ago)
I like to look for rare stuff to sell, I always find that fun. I found an old 1800s photo album at a yard sale for 10 bucks and flipped it for 100. The person who bought it was a production designer for a horror movie set.

art sells good if you know the value and you know how to ship it, I remember I went to a salvation army and I saw this painting on the wall they only wanted 10 dollars so I called my art teacher she look at it and I bought it, so I put it on eBay on action starting at 200 10 days later it sold for over $10,000 that was my first flip, that was in 1999. I used that money to buy art supplies. now after 17 years I am getting back into reselling. thanks love your videos

How do you get people to actually buy the items? Just pick up hot items or do you advertise or?
David Scheurer (2 years ago)
thanks
RALLI ROOTS (2 years ago)
We list them online, multiple avenues. Ebay, amazon, letgo, offerup, craigslist, wholesale etc.
Kody Amos (2 years ago)
What to do with stuff that just won't sell? Maybe attempt to pawn it? I'm not losing much. Maybe $10-15 dollars.
RALLI ROOTS (2 years ago)
Kody Amos fair enough. It happens when you're starting out. I wouldn't suggest buying wholesale until you've built up some healthy profits first. Have you watched our last webinar? I would definitely check that out RyanRoots.com/webinar
Kody Amos (2 years ago)
+Ryan Roots Right on. Yea, I think it was the 'new' and excitement that caused a few bad buys. (6 products unsold whereas we have sold 20). We have definitely slowed ourselves down a bit and been more intentional about researching what we know will sell! I'm actually on my way for an after work stroll through some thrift stores. Any recommendations for learning more about wholesaling / taxes? I had a friend recommend chinavision and wholesalecentral but I don't have a good feeling there...
RALLI ROOTS (2 years ago)
Kody Amos hey there. So we sell pretty much 99% of the stuff we buy. If you're ending up with a lot of items that aren't selling you're probably not doing enough research before buying. Maybe try running auctions with lower starting bids to clear out old inventory. Anything that doesn't sell for us after 6 months or so we just donate and write off on our taxes. Hope that helps
Kody Amos (2 years ago)
The exact thing happened to me. I'm still trying to move the product. Considering Amazon... I bough 5 of those automatic paper towel dispensers for $80. Expected sales of $300. Profit of at least $200 as this is an item people regularly pay shipping on... Otherwise, I've had good success with your techniques! Discovered you via ABH Chris Dunn lol. Started immediately and have turned $26 into $275 (excluding this mishap). I like your format on eBay (I found your store) and I wanna say thank you as this is a fun hobby for my wife and I. Still trying to figure out what I can about the wholeselling aspect of it... And the tax aspect as well... Lot to learn!!!

Ryan, are you marketing your how to course yet? If not, please let me know when you expect it to be ready, I'm very interested in obtaining a copy. Thanks a bunch for your videos, as Nick said below, they are very informative. Best Regards!
Elias Eliaris (2 years ago)
Can you explain how you track your profits and provide a link to the spreadsheet you use if you use one? Going garage sale hunting tomorrow!
RALLI ROOTS (2 years ago)
Sure. The formula is actually pretty simple. Sold price - 13% ebay/paypal fees - shipping cost - cost of item = Net profit. IE: I buy an item for $10, sell it for $100 and it cost $5 to ship = $72 net profit.

Hey Ryan, Just started mt ebay shop here in Europe, grabbed some stuff that was in my house that I didn't touched in years. So any advice on what we are looking for on a garage sale? Toys, Clothes?
ragdolllibby (2 months ago)
Did you give up?
Kristof D.B (2 years ago)
+Ryan Roots will see the coming weeks how it will evolve :)

Cool! Your listings look pretty good. I would suggest doing BIN with a best offer on a few and see how it goes.

Hi Ryan, Thanks for all your videos they are really helpful! I have a question: Is Black Friday a good opportunity to get your hands on items that you can later on sell at higher prices? I'm guessing a lot of people want to do this so is it worth it?
RALLI ROOTS (2 years ago)
Cool. You are most welcome. Black Friday is good yea, but what we do is wait til the garage sales a week or two after black friday lol. The time and effort/stress it takes to go out black friday isn't worth it for us.

Is Vero mostly concerned with electronics - or can it be any "branded' product? Appreciate the info!
RALLI ROOTS (2 years ago)
great question Greg. They deal with any branded product. We've even had emails from companies like Monster Energy for clothing that we had to prove was authentic!
Nick Kennedy (2 years ago)
Really appreciate how informative, concise and to the point your videos are. Not to short, not to long. Keep it up!
RALLI ROOTS (2 years ago)
Hey, thanks a lot Nick. Definitely trying to do it right!
Scotty Thomas (2 years ago)
I'm interested in what you do with your descriptions. Do you use fancy font? How in depth do you go?
RALLI ROOTS (2 years ago)
Honestly, we try to keep it as simple as possible. Really depends on the item, but no, no HTML or fancy fonts, short and to the point always works best!
Eliab Soto (2 years ago)
Hello, thanks for the info. Is it possible you could tell me what's the style name of the sweater you are wearing? Thanks
RALLI ROOTS (2 years ago)
it's just a Mexican poncho hoodie. I got it when we were in Cancun i believe, but you can buy them online
Dreamcatchin Bebo (2 years ago)
