It's funny how I started a couple months ago and NOW see the huge importance and advantages of having an eBay store. You answered a few questions for me and I feel the most important take away's I got from this is 1. Free listings 2. Discounts (10%, 15%...etc) Like you said, this huge to help pull in a potential buyer 3. Better search rankings. As a webmaster/SEO geek, this stands out for me and easily makes my top 3 take away's. Thanks again for the tips Casey, you never fail to deliver. :]

Hello! Just started listing on eBay last week (been on Poshmark since summer). Signing up for my eBay store today so I was watching this to be diligent. I’d love to see an updated video on this fabulous topic! Thanks for the great information! Marcy @NonaSnoopShop
Marcy Kennedy (2 months ago)
RockstarFlipper thank you for the fast reply. Launched my store yesterday and having lots of fun with it. I was just watching some of your videos about running sales. As always, thank you for the great insight and inspiration 🙃
RockstarFlipper (2 months ago)
Marcy, everything is about the same on this.. very changes on the store costs and levels, but same reasons to have a stores

Complete bullshit .. Do not consider a store until you are actually putting up that amount of auctions... This is the online selling version of a fitness club membership...

the beginning of your video is wrong. you get 100 free listings a month and after that is .35c pr listing. most of the times you receive promotions that may give you 100 free extra listing pr month. So, if you are a beginner and are not planning on selling more that 100 items pr month, buying a store is not worth it.

How do I transfer my listings to a store? Do you have a video on that? THANK YOU!!
RockstarFlipper (4 months ago)
They automatically go into your store. no work needed. Also you need to create store categories and put them into it

Hi there, I have asked this question before but nobody has answered me :( the question is: would you get offers on shipping too? I mean do you get help with cost of your shipping? shipping is so expensive
RockstarFlipper (4 months ago)
What do you mean offers on shipping? The shipping discount I get is by directly buying my labels through Ebay
LILITHS LAIR (5 months ago)
I'm totally lost on this one, as my limits are 1,000 listings a month and $25,000 a month in sales. That's my limits. If I get a store, I start over and lower my own limits ? That's a huge NO from me !
Ladytime (5 months ago)
Thank you so much for this info. I wrote everything down in a notebook, I'm old school also. This info really helped me understand the process better.

PandawdyBob (5 months ago)
Something that would be really great... if Ebay did shipping fulfillment. I know they do something like this for international shipping. But something for domestic shipping would be great, kind of like Amazon where you send off your stock, and they handle all the packaging and shipping to individual buyers.

As someone who went to school for sound engineering, get rid of the omnidirectional mic. Get a unidirectional mic. It also wouldnt be a bad idea to hang a blanket or something similar on the wall your voice projects to. You have soundwaves bouncing around your room. Also some throw rugs if you have wood or hard tile floors. But overall the sound you were getting was decent.
Angela Pritchard (1 day ago)
From my iPhone the podcast was quite clear! Hope that helps.

Alice Price (9 months ago)
I've been selling 2-3 months can I get a a basic eBay store subscription or do you have to be a seller for over 12 months? :/
RockstarFlipper (9 months ago)
You can get a store on day 1.. if you have over 100 items or so actively listing per month you should already have one probably before that.
Jeremy Sawyer (9 months ago)
Thanks Casey ! One Question.....if you commit to a yearly store fee,do you need to pay in full, or can you pay the lower price monthly ? Thanks!
RockstarFlipper (9 months ago)
You pay the lower price monthly. its just a comittment
ThisISETHANBRADBERRY! (9 months ago)
lower final value fees are only 1% less having a store, for the most popular, most sold items. you get a great discount selling f***ing stamps though lol

I want one to do coupon codes and free Ebay shipping supplies and that’s it. I am pretty small so I still have this coupon from Ebay I got for free 500 insertions so it’s not worth it for me yet.
Cash4Fruit (1 year ago)
hmmm I never list over 50 items per month, I would would be subbing just to save on final value fees, I did some rough math if I sell at least $500 per month I will save $5 in FVF if the FVF is 4% (likely it will be more for many/most items) so that would mean I need to sell more than $500 per month to make up cost.... some months I do, some I don't.... I have just listed a $1000 item idk when it will sell though... argh haha I am still not sure to sub or not...
RockstarFlipper (1 year ago)
its best if your going to get a store and be serious to start listing more
Jessee Nixon (1 year ago)
I am a new reseller started last month. I decided to try Ebay and only sold 1 item. I am only allowed to list 10. I would like to open a store but i probably should wait until i make more sales right? I would like to have a store just because you can make it more personable like a banner and such.

I think eBay misleads people when signing up for a basic store says we get 250 free listings I have 100 items up only sold 2 and when I went to list more it says I reached my limit could you explain this? Not sure if opening a store is a good idea for me paying subscription and not being able to list over 100..thanks

Hi there, really appreciate what you do, good infos and advices. I have a question, i'm a new seller just opened my eBay account this month August 2017, i listed my first item and surprise, i can only list 5 items or the equal of about 200$, i think it's very low. And the stupid thing, is on my only item i put a number of 5 as quantity, so i reached my limit for this month with only 1 item, crazyyyyyy. I think i can edit it, but i prefer a less restrictive solution. Ok i don't really blame eBay for that i just want to find a way to list at least 300 products and i want to do this business seriously, so i've considered opening an eBay store and probably selling as a business, my Paypal is a business one. My question (sorry for being so long, just want to make my situation clear, lol) is if i open a store will i be able to list at least 200 items? And what is the benefit to have a business account? Have you ever use a tool like Push Auction? It offer you tools to design your shop more efficiently, i'm a graphic and web designer, it's why i'm pretty interested by this tool. Thanks and have a good continuation...
Lauren R (1 year ago)
Great video Casey! For years I just dabbled, (maybe 10-20 items per week.) My husband is almost 20 years older than me, and because we wanted a baby and I had health problems, etc. he didn't want me to have to work. I have now gotten to the point where I would seriously like to take down if I have to and return later or the next to continue. some of that weight off my husband's back in paying our very high bills, and still be able to take a break, lay down if I have to, etc. and still be able to manage this. I know what I'm doing, so I'm heading in within a couple of months to go full steam ahead! We just moved in June, so as soon as I have this new place set up reasonably nicely for my family, my office will go into full swing. We got a 3 bdrm. when we only needed a 2 bdrm., so that can be my office. Knowing that I was definitely moving in this direction, about 6 or 7 months ago I started buying my photography studio items(very lucky call that I decided on a soft faux brick white background to stand my mannequins in front of, and then found out that eBay is preferring the white, and if I get into Poshmark also, they prefer the 1-inch white squares for listing. Then for smaller things I bought the photo cube about a week before I saw that Steve at "Raiken" did the same thing. Anyway, I started researching and buying the things I wanted such as a scale, all my office supplies, back up paper and ink, poly mailers, free USPS stuff for flat rate things, tape, everything you can want or need! ;-) I also am out sourcing at every opportunity. I've watched literally several hundred videos, if not thousands, to get as much info from so many of the people I respect and listen to, including yourself Casey! I have accumulated tons of quality inventory because 1. I want to get started big and not be running out, and 2. I live about 45 min. north of Boston, and I really don't like to go out in the snowy, icy, freezing, bad weather. I'm not a great driver and don't like to drive, so I want to get as much as possible done now. I must have about 20 stuffed bins by now, and I'm still working on them. I do mostly clothes, and most of those are jeans in specialty sizes or have nice embellishments, bling, unique designs, etc. I know most of my designers, but double check almost everything in the store against sold listings, etc. I also am getting into board games and sets of pieces to certain games. I'll sell housewares, retail arbitrage using couponing, thrift stores, garage sales, Savers, Salvation Army-pretty much everything everywhere that I think will sell. The lighter the better. So, in a couple of months, I should be ready to launch right into a basic store. Please wish me luck-I wanna make this big and contribute significantly to paying the bills around here to take some of the stress off of my husband. When we got married he didn't want me to ever have to work again and assured me that he will handle it all one way or another. Well, that was when we got married in 2000. I've now been able to convince him that I can handle this and it will be ok. He's been working approx 14 hours a day of hard physical labor since he was 14 years old. He's 40 now, and I'm 59. Our transmission went in our old van last month, (one month after we moved and had to pay 1st, last, and security of $1850 each, and $1850 per month rent. So when we were absolutely strapped, we had to buy a vehicle which means a few years of payments because we had no savings, a big jump in auto insurance, and our son needs braces, and we both need some very expensive dental work that we've been procrastinating about. If you know anything about the dental health world, that's never a good idea, but we had no choice. So I'm about ready to take off with this Casey. Sorry for the lengthy post, but please wish me luck-I'm gonna need it! Lauren

Should I wait to get the store until I start making more sales? I resell items that are under $10 and with shipping my profit is low and with a store fee plus fees drives up my store cost. Help!
CrowdPleeza (1 year ago)
"Should I wait to get the store until I start making more sales?" That's the impression I've gotten from some other videos I've watched. I don't think a store is the best for beginners. Once people gain more experience and are able to start doing well with sales then get a store. You want to be able to earn enough to easily cover the store fee.

Great video, dear friend I am going to open an Ebay store but i am confused. There are two option ; yearly subscription and monthly subscription. Can you explain me the difference. thanks
Chewy (1 year ago)
Hey it's me again. Thanks for your answer earlier and for this video. I am going to get a store soon. The other thing I am wondering is how people will ever find your store in the beginning when it's new? Like say someone is searching for a men's dress shirt and I have some will they just see my shirts in a list like normal or get sent to my store? I hope that makes sense.

Depends if you list GTC or 30 day. I have an entire video on why I recommend 30 day instead of good till cancelled (GTC)

I'm glad I listened to this. I've been wondering if there is an advantage to having a store. Right now my goal is to get 100 items up. I think for a few dollars more, an ebay store would be the way to go. Having 250 free listings gives me more incentive to list more and make more! Thanks Casey!
RockstarFlipper (1 year ago)
Yes a HUGE advantage to having a store.

hi, is it worth it to pay for a store when I have a 10 item limit?
Crosswalk Larry (7 months ago)
RockstarFlipper They only gave me 50 free listings a month and I have been selling since 2006, but just started selling hardcore 2.5 years ago. And I am a top rated seller with top notch feedback. Wonder why they never gave me 100 a month? They would send me offers from time to time for 100 or 200 additional listings, but not every month. I just started a store because I outgrew a regular account a long time ago.
RockstarFlipper (1 year ago)
I would wait till next month, call and get a limit raise and then get the store. They should raise your limits to 50 items or 100 per month

Pamela Belonwu-Ifedi (1 year ago)
Thank you for your video. I just started listing stuff on Ebay and I haven't sold anything. Trying not to be discouraged. Even though I haven't sold anything, I'm going to sign up for the basic store and have faith that I would grow and the store will pay for itself. Thank you
naturegirl2110 (1 year ago)
Pamela Belonwu-Ifedi Thanks for the reply. I lost about 30 to 40 items a month wondered if its time to get a store. July was my best month I hit my sales goal a very low number with even lower profit but I did it and missed my total transaction goal by one sale. I've increased my goal for Aug but have sold ANYTHING yet. I'm going to try a store later in the month and see if it helps. Good luck and too many future sales to you.
Pamela Belonwu-Ifedi (1 year ago)
naturegirl2110 Well I've been getting little sales and I don't know if it's because I have a store. But I believe getting a store was the best decision ever. Also keep in mind that it's summer slowdown and sales are quite low for most of us..

baba mama (1 year ago)
Hi, so I only have 38 items for sale on ebay I have a lot more on Amazon. I don't pay any per listing fees to ebay, only 10% when the item sells plus paypal fees. I don't know at this point if paying the $20 a month for a whole year would really save me any money since the 1% savings in fees will not offset the monthly fees. What is your opinion please ? Thank you.
RockstarFlipper (1 year ago)
Yeah if your not going over the free 50 listings then no you dont need a store yet.....although it could help in other ways. I would say if you get serious then you will need a store once you list over 50

My 68 year old husband and I (58 years young) just started a store. I sold a few things MANY years ago but decided to try and really go for it. Went to our first bin store and it blew us away. So much good stuff!! All name brand CHEAP. We got 87 items for $103. I branded my store and it's pretty cute. Will continue to work until it gets going. We are long haul team truckers all over North America and we will now try to hit Goodwill Outlets as we go. Can I put a link to my storefront so you can check it out and give an opinion?

You can send me a link via facebook or email [email protected]

A store is not for me. If I was selling in bulk (stamps, games) it would be worth it. But this last payment to EB was something like $4.50. I had no insertion fees because I limited it to 30c. A store is great for a "business" that has tons of items to sell and / or they specialize in a certain product that jumps off the shelf.

I'll try it now because there is a trial fee of $5. But I rarely have over 200 items.

if you go over 45 items a store is cheaper to pay for then the insertion fees you would pay for... PLUS the other advantages of having the store

Correction. I limited my listings to 50 listings which were free.

please any one can give me a response !! my listing its only 20items/800$ if i bought a basic ebay store ? does this give more selling limits or i should sell 250 items only with my limits of 800$ ??
RockstarFlipper (1 year ago)
No a store doesn't raise your limits. it just gives free listings. You have to call eBay and ONLY ONCE PER 30 DAYS they will raise it
