Depending on the occasion and the type of girl, there are 3 types of outfits for a first date: casual, semi-casual, and formal. In this video, I show you 3 different examples of each type, as well as offer some general dating advice.

Not that I need the actual dating advice, but after watching tons of your videos and others, I bought a freaking denim jacket. I like it! And my girl really loves it.. So thanks man!
Keep these videos coming. Dating or non dating related 😅👏
The first outfit I love how it combined with chinos and with the jean jacket. NEW SUBSCRIBER HERE and I freaken LOVE your channel. Its so informing and just overall super fun to watch, REALLY REALLY LOVE IT !!!!!
Only thing I would disagree with is I wouldn’t base what I’m going to wear off what her style is. If she’s a skater girl but you haven’t different style do you. Girls want a man who’s a leader and is on his own path. If she doesn’t like your style or what you rock then on to the next. Be confident in you and what you choose. Girls like a guy that cares how he looks but doesn’t care what people think of it.
Canadian Chest Hair I hear your point but it’s really not that black and white either. My style for example is rather versatile, so I can go really casual or really dressed up. I wanna reemphasize how superficial things (fashion included to a certain extent) can keep a relationship from happening, in my opinion. So if i feel comfortable in ripped jeans and T and comfortable in a suit, why not choose the more appropriate for the situation? Once again, my opinion, but can’t entirely disagree with you. ✌🏼
Bro, you if this is really your behavior on dates (not the outfits themselves but rather your idea of how to talk to women) then you really need try to be a bit more relaxed and spontaneous than focusing on phrases you think might makes you look "cool" like James Dean and open up with a runawayswag & pose while throwing a "hey girl.." Trust me dude, nobody with a bit of brains will find that type of approach awesome or irresistibly attractive if that's the desired effect...
This is so helpful. Great casual outfit. WAIT you’re 26 you’re so young I thought you were older like 28 😆. Oxfords shirt are awesome and I agree adding a jacket changes an outfit. The navy formal outfit looks great.
Mohammed attacked? Very sorry you feel that way, but I’m just sticking to what I know. I did mention gay relationships in the end, but I don’t have any experience and can’t confidently say the same things apply as values might be different..
I guess this is for straight guys. Use of “she” pronouns says a lot. You have huge gay following, you should at least try to be mindful and be more inclusive. It’s like use gays to build audience and then ditch them to appeal to straight men for money. Got it.
One Dapper Street thanks for responding. You are a sweet guy. If you had said something similar to what you wrote in beginning of video, it would make a huge difference to your gay audience to let them know you are mindful and truly inclusive. I couldn’t stomach to finish and sit through whole video as it was speaking to straight men with the constant reference to what a girl would like. Hence why it’s often best to say in beginning of video. Also what was misleading was video title. Title seemed very general, so I was excited to see. And then come to realize it was very specific. It should’ve been titled what to wear on a first date with a girl if it was exclusively going to focus on straight men. In such cases, maybe invite your gay friend you tubers as guests to give their perspectives. I come to your channel bc I appreciate your fashion sense and quality of videos. In my opinion good style/taste is universal and it really doesn’t matter if one is straight or gay. Gay community is very loyal and will be with you if you make an effort to actively be mindful of how inclusive you are. All the best and just one more thing. It’s small but in the future pls reframe from using the I am not this bc I have such and such friends. Don’t mention it. Love.
Tom London hey Tom :) thanks for watching and sorry this struck a chord with you.. I was trying to be mindful with the inclusion in the end. I hope you noticed I’ve done that in the past thought the entire video. I’m very much in support of the entire community as by now probably most of my friends are gay. But I haven’t been on a date with a guy and am sharing the knowledge I’ve gained through experience *personally*. It is not my intention to exclude anybody, especially knowing I have a fairly large gay following as you pointed out, but I hope you see why I stuck to advising on straight dates: because I can confidently say that I’ve lived through those and that’s the root of my advice. Nobody’s ditching anyone, just sticking to what I know. Much love, M
He says something about dating guys at the end. But even if he didn't, as far as I know he's always been straight, so for him to make a video about dating—and mentioning mostly dating a girl—isn't it only normal for him to make it predominantly about what he knows? "It’s like use gays to build audience and then ditch them to appeal to straight men for money. Got it." You make it seem as if he's exploiting gay guys when he's just being himself and talking about his experiences on the subject matter.
I am a female and a huge fan of your style! Just one question: What is your policy on wearing socks? lol I watch your videos and blogs for fashion ideas for my husband, who is 43 and heavier. I can totally see him pulling off the casual pants, no socks, white shoes or those ones you designed. But how do you decide whether to wear socks with a dressier outfit? A suit? Thank you!
Lisa Anderson I would say it depends on the shoe if he wears oxfords it would be appropriate with loafers they can go ether way. Honestly just just about the entire ensemble and personal style. But black tie and white tie silk black socks are the way to go
Lisa Anderson , no show socks are the cats pajamas. It looks like you’re not wearing socks ... and if anyone gives you crap for not wearing socks you can pull your foot out and be like ... joke’s on you ! Lol I love my no show socks , especially for summer.
Hi Marcel! I love your videos really good work! Hey would you be willing to do a similar video but with a “drinks night out” outfits in mind? I would really like to see what you recommend. Keep up the amazing content!
Thank you, your video was really inspiring! But could you go gender neutral next time, and by that I mean not only talk about a girl the viewer might take on a date but rather a person (be that a boy or whatever) for all your LGBTIQ*-viewers out there? If you could just consider this...
But again, thanks a bunch for this video! Have a great evening!
Sharing Lungs I'm taking this fashion advise anyways because fashion is universal and genderless. Also, I wasn't triggered, I just shared a thought. But I am glad that you are so deeply moved by my comment.
Are people that ridiculously sensitive/triggered? If that’s the case they need a healthy dose of grow the hell up. Take his fashion advice for what’s it worth. If you need fashion advice for dating non straight people surely they could find a vlogger who addresses that situation.
One Dapper Street Thank you so much for answering! I get your point, I just wanted to share my view as well and would just love if you'd consider to make it clearer at the beginning of your video that you are sharing your experiences and therefore are going to be more explicit about a guy dating a girl than just having a little shoutout at the end of the video. Again, I loved your video anyway, it was just a thought of mine. Thank you for all your work!
(And, by the way, I think it’s awesome that you were answering my question so constructively! Thanks a bunch!)
t coolowski hey hey! Totally get your point, I hope you noticed I’ve done that in the past (and also towards the end of the video). I’m very much in support of the entire community as by now probably most of my friends are gay. But I haven’t been on a date with a guy and am sharing the knowledge I’ve gained through experience *personally*. It is not my intention to exclude anybody, especially knowing I have a fairly large gay following, but I hope you see why I stuck to advising on straight dates: because I can confidently say that I’ve lived through those and that’s the root of my advice. Much love, M
Hermes Johnson Hermes Johnson Yes, it’s cool he mentioned it. But since he’s straight this might not be the first thing to come to his mind, even when he is talking to a community of all kinds of people, that’s why I wrote this friendly reminder, to be aware of the diversity in his community when he is addressing it and to maybe adjust the video description. So he being straight and just talking from the heart was the reason I wrote that comment.
I think you'd be smart to consider a true vintage Levis denim trucker. Size 42L should be perfect for you.
The virtue of authentically distressed and authentically faded demin can't be compared to machine mass produced stressed denim.
that truly could be a brilliant video.
Specifically true vintage Levis denim truckers and jeans.
Literally, any time I enter a room wearing vintage Levis truckers, everyone notices, and many complement. The only problem with you making such a video, would me that those vintage items would be harder to get and aquire.
