Here are our step-by-step instructions on how to find a supplier on Alibaba:
Step 1: Go to Alibaba and find the search bar. Type in the name of a product that you are interested in selling. In this video I used vitamin pills as an example.
Step 2: Because a lot of suppliers have duplicate listings on Alibaba for the same item (because it increases their presence in the Alibaba search engine) you will need to filter the results by clicking on “browse by suppliers.”
Step 3: To filter the results down further, search by “Gold Suppliers.” Most suppliers will do this because it has become basically a prerequisite for having new buyers contact them. It doesn’t cost them much money to do this, so the results will only be filtered by a small amount.
Step 4 (OPTIONAL): If the list of suppliers is still too long, then click to filter the results by “assessed supplier.” This is only necessary in very popular niches where you have a large number of suppliers that you need to filter down to a manageable amount.
Step 5: Contact 10-20 suppliers at least. If you have time, then contact more. The more you contact, the better.

"My name is [INSERT NAME] from [INSERT BUSINESS NAME]. Our company director asked me to contact your company about working together on a lucrative, long-term venture. We are a company that sells products related to [INSERT NICHE HERE] and we do over 2 million dollars in sales each year. We’re looking to expand our product range and create a profitable partnership between your company and ours.
We are planning to purchase [INSERT ITEM] to our product line. It would need to meet these specifications:
* Specification (e.g size)
* Specification (e.g. quantity)
* Specification (e.g. colour)
We have been researching different companies in China that manufacture [INSERT ITEM] and we think that your company could be a great supplier for it. We would like to get some more information and have a few questions that we would like you to please answer:
* Can we please get a sample of the product as soon as possible. Can you please let us know how much you will charge for the sample, including Express shipping to [INSERT COUNTRY], zip code [INSERT ZIP CODE]? We would like to pay with PayPal.
* How long will it take to receive the sample?
* What types of packaging do you usually use for this product?
* How long does it take to manufacture once an order has been placed?
* What is the product-per-unit cost including shipping via Air Express to the United States, ZIP code 85043?
* Do you accept PayPal for the full-order?"
We would be very grateful if you would contact us with answers to the above questions as well as any additional policies that we may need to know. We would also like to discuss with you further about doing a sample order for the product.

Here are some final tips to keep in mind when you are looking to find a supplier on Alibaba to manufacture your Amazon FBA private label products:
Tip #1 on how to find a supplier on Alibaba: Don’t judge the supplier/manufacture by their Alibaba response rate.
The Alibaba response rate only takes into account how fast they respond within Alibaba’s email system, and it doesn’t take into account how fast they reply to personal emails. This is not a good indicator of how responsive they will be to private communication, which is all you should care about.
Tip #2 on how to find a supplier on Alibaba: Avoid manufacturers that try to vet your business.
If a manufacturer comes back and starts asking questions about your business, clearly skeptical of the size of your company, it is best to move on. Manufacturers that do this will usually decline to work with you as they are only to work with other large companies, so you don’t want to waste your time.
Tip #3 on how to find a supplier on Alibaba: It is OK to work directly with a sales rep - if they offer you a better deal.
When you are looking to find a supplier on Alibaba, you’ll discover that sales reps often have inflated prices (due to commission cuts). But occasionally, a sales rep will have a better relationship with a factory and so are able to negotiate lower prices. They will also often have good english, making communication easier. Vet sales reps and treat them as equals during the process of picking and choosing the right supplier.

I've contacted several suppliers there being completely honest with them, telling them I am new, have a small budget and cannot afford to buy huge quantities. All of them replied to me and offered me the best pricing they offer. I can buy 20 small items at the prices they list for 1000 qty orders. So, in my experience honesty is definitely the best policy. If you are honest with the supplier form the start you are much more likely to find a truly honest supplier willing to help you out.

Well done and professional. You really need to get to the subject of manufacturing in the USA, because the cost is many times the same with a ton more guarantees and less headaches. The days of everything being a huge deal coming from China are gone in several industries. Items need to be costed out from both sources.

you can try the German sourcing company called matchory. you just have to tell them what you want and they will send you a list of the most qualified manufactures with contact info. they even show you the client names of those manufactures. i used them to find supplier for me yoga pants. you will have to pay 250 euro for the list if i remember right.
Whoever believe to find a manufacturer through Alibaba may be disappointed... the entire platform is a big Movie theatre making buyers believe they get straight from the factory the goods... Double check company names, addresses, certifications, you will be disappointed ... Whoever do business through Alibaba, choose products that have less risk on warranty or quality... there is no way you get your money back from any supplier in case something went wrong....
from the catalog and company address information ect, A original manufacture don't produce different catalog items ,and address of the factory should be 1,3,4 floor ,industry park instead of room 4301 ,A building .this is just few for reference by details .the more is to feel ,you can tell when you communicate with the sales
This isnt always true that china suppliers will only contact u if ur selling so much in money etc.
I messaged a few dofferent companies on jewelry I wanted and talked about wantong to know about the quality before I go in to buying loads. One woman who was way more professional imo and quick with responcws answered all my questions and when I get my debt card I'll be testing the products out.
We started experimenting with Alibaba and have had some pretty good experiences with it. What she is telling you in this video is pretty accurate. If a manufacturer/supplier comes back at you and is concerned about the business rather than the order...just thank them for their time and find another supplier. :)

Private Label is only a name. Alibaba factories are making the same design to everybody. Having your own design should be the magic step. The problem is that China do not respect patents or intellectual rights. To sale in Amazon the same product as many other dreamers is a dangerous game.

Look for this in the USA..there are many manufacturers there that can do it. Not everything has to be imported from China, and the savings for importing from them is highly debatable. It really depends on the product. The US manufacturers just as much and more than China does and the huge savings with China is really questionable. You have to cost it out from start to finish.
Look up molding manufacturers in the USA. And there are also Trade magazines that will help you, and websites. If you are talking about manufacturing something heavy, you will lose your ass in shipping from there, plus insurance and loss. Go American!!
I love the bluffing factor. Because obviously many of these suppliers wouldn't hesitate to bone you...by speaking their language, money, they're waay less likely to try anything that could jeapordize their business

When you know the cost of courier will be about 35USD and they ask for 75, it's not a free sample. I hate this, too. Small people looking to claw small profits. But it's a good filter. They know you're serious when you laugh and say, no, send the sample to my freight agent. PS have your own freight agent based in China with a DHL account. Much cheaper from China than from the West.
So, any experience getting a way out of the range price from suppliers? Did you negotiate? I found a product that's selling for $18 and the supplier wanted $33 before shipping costs; not to mention they priced a lot for shipping.
I did my estimations and I figured that the seller on Amazon is purchasing for around $5-8 per item and making around 30-40% net. Got any advise?

I was vetting a few companies for a product but I found it weird that when it came to sending money thru PayPal for the samples the account names for 2 different companies and what I thought were 2 different people, were nearly identical. 2 different models. Dropshipping, you sell someone else's product and ask the seller to send the item straight to the customer. Private labeling, you create your own product, have it shipped to Amazon for them to fulfill the customer.
