thanks so much for watching! We love you all
Please watch: "Finding Treasure At The Thrift Store To Resell Online!"
So u paid roughly $9 per shirt, you sale for $24, what does it cost you to ship and would you put it in one of those blue bags to ship?
Shipping is one of the hardest things for me to figure out on listing stuff. Especially if it's a heavy item.
Measuring is VERY IMPORTANT! I had a buyer for a coat that she purchased for $250.00. She opened up a case against me, told eBay it didn’t fit her. But, because I photographed the measurements I won the case. eBay had her send my coat back to me as well as I received my money back. She was obviously a scammer, Be aware!
I am still relatively new to eBay as I have been doing it now for a little over a month. I haven't learned how to make subject lines most attractive; I have several diverse items from Princess House to Sony radios to books for sale. No niches yet. Still challenged choosing between auctions and buy it now. Not sure how to do the packaging and shipping as I don't have a system like yours set up. Any helpful videos you've done that would help me would be most appreciated. I enjoyed this video, by the way!
I hope this is ok to mention. I use auction sniper https://www.auctionsniper.com/ it cost 25 cents per use. I love it as I don't have to be near a computer when an auction ends. Also, I am old and don't stay up late. haha I think it is an Auctiva program.
I bought a lot of like 20 concert shirts, I wanted 1out of the lot to give to my daughter for Christmas. It ended up being $1.67 ea. I've got the rest listed @ about $20 ea! Wish me luck. P.s. love watching you guys for tips!
Thank you for sharing. You didn’t mention how long you spent looking for these eBay lots. Time constraint is an issue for us. I generally stop if I don’t find anything interesting to watch, purchase or bid on within 15-20 mins. of searching. Better time spent somewhere else.
That's how I folded and role my cloths during my Army days. I actually thought about doing actions like this (bundle) looks like my idea isn't original. More fake sample videos of other brands would be nice.... So are you guys going to a partial refund for that fake shirt? LOL just kidding, I am sure the seller didnt know still nice bundles.
Fantastic video as always. I couldn’t catch the livestream to ask this question but hopefully one of you guys can give me some clarity.
If I send products into fba that are all the same but I have 100-1000 of them do I have to label every single one individually? Or can a label a box of them?
They are small replacement parts that are very cheap per unit but have great margins to give context. They weigh like half an ounce each.
Hopefully someone can drop some knowledge on me. 😀
RALLI ROOTS okay thanks. If it fits into my margin having amazon do it would be my best bet. Alternatively if it is too expensive i could find out if it is possible for the supplier to label it for me but I haven’t looked into If that is possible yet.
This product and similar ones are selling great on eBay but with an average sale price of 8-15 dollars I would love to automate it and take a lower margin because it just doesn’t feel right shipping out 5-10 1ounce packages a day with that low of an asp. Feels like a bottleneck to me and I’d rather free up that mental real-estate for other things.
Thanks again love you 2 !
Mercari removed me for nothing ughh someone asked for my number n merc accused me of whatever n banned me... I got thw best deals on merc n made so much money... Wish i knew a way to get back on but they are insane strict
Do you have a washer/ dryer at your warehouse to wash your clothing that needs washing? I rarely do clothing but I noticed when I buy from some thrifts, they all smell the same weird fabric softener or something. Do you find that you get more questions on clothing vs shoes or durable goods?
I do this quite often, though I've found that going through newest listings buy it now is also a way to score. My logic is this, naturally some people will be selling lower than resale value. I like to get to these listings before anyone else, or before the crowds anyway. Any deal in any category tends not to last long on ebay.
I do that too and buy from mercari to sell on eBay and Amazon too! The problem is it’s addictive because you have to be quick, sometimes you have to put up a lot more capital and it’s easier to make bad buys, items with problems not described. Great video guys, great minds think alike 👍
Question: I've seen video's where people say they are stepping back from selling clothes on eBay because it is so saturated with new sellers that it is bring the profit margins down to unexceptionable margins. What are your thoughts about this?
Wow! Yes, I believe 32 is excessive for sure, and can see why you feel overwhelmed. Personally I would measure:
Chest (pit to pit, laying flat, front side and unstretched)
Shoulder (taken across the back...seam to seam.
Sleeve Length (under the arm, to the end of the cuff)
Total Length (taken from the bottom of the collar straight down the middle of the back to the bottom edge)
For jackets, I like to turn them inside out and photograph both front and back, which can highlight the pockets. Also note deep pockets in item specifics. A neat trick to save time and photo space is to use yard sticks, 2 at a time to get multiple measurements in one photo.
I have only had one request for an extra measurement. I have had many questions regarding comfortable stretch, but only for women's clothing.
Hope that helps!
Margot E what measurements do you use without going overboard on measuring. That’s exactly what’s stopping me from listing all my brand name quality clothes 45% still has tags and the rest only worn once because I fluctuate in weight and then I have my moms high quality brand name she was a designer and wore the clothes. Like for instances when I say overboard on measuring I listed a BN Harley Davidson Jacket my mom and Step dad bought and I had 32 measurements in the description. Including depth of pockets to give you a clue. Help if you can I would greatly appreciate it. That jacket deterred me. Though it sold for full asking price. But 32 measurements it took me all day for 1 item-Geez. I know I had to of been over thinking it.🤣🤣😂😂😊💞🤗👍🙏Thanks for any help.
Me too! I've always photographed my measurements in detail. Had 2 very costly remorse returns prevented, but most importantly, my buyers can visually verify them and feel more confident when purchasing.
Real Lacoste polos have mother of pearl buttons instead of plastic ones. Plastic buttons feel softer and warmer but with hard edges. They’ll also lack the dip in the center that real Lacoste buttons have. If you still aren’t sure, try tapping the buttons against your teeth or biting down on them. Mother of pearl buttons should feel harder and denser than plastic buttons.
I love your transparency and you can apply the knowledge to any type of resale business. With Rally Roots you're getting an invaluable education from wonderful people. A pleasure to watch. Thank you again
Wow, I remember back starting to resell on eBay like last year and I def would have been fooled with that Lacoste, not even looking at under tag or realizing no other Lacoste polo logo is embroidered like that.. Nice vid, it seems backwards to some that you can source the same place you sell, but very possible
I do these occasionally buying from online and reselling back online, i actually dont even source locally, the only draw back is you need to wait for the items to arrive first and them resell it which means you can easily wait 1 week just for the items to arrive depending how fast they ship.
I did that recently with a vintage Dragon Ball t shirt. It's an 80s shirt from the original show before DBZ and the seller just apparently didn't know anything about it but I see very few other Dragon Ball shirts from the 80s and they're all like $100+ got it for $16
Great video, thanks for the info. I’m doing my own experiments with goodwill auctions online. Purchasing lots to resale on eBay. So far the items have been as described but they seriously lack in packing items to ship. My first box was just items thrown together with the packaging on top lol. Time will tell how this goes.
What was Alli standing on filming this? My Ralli Roots winter hat is still in the plastic. It’s so nice I’m afraid to take it out! Plus it’s been really mild here this winter, so my head isn’t getting cold enough.
Ok I guess my confusion came with the term “ best offer “ I was thinking it was more like a silent auction where you take highest offer at end of listening. But if you turn down $50 you may have turned down the best offer . Thanks
+Clin if you are a seller you can activate "best offer", if you are a buyer looking at that listing you see "make offer" ... but it is the same system. The way it stays online for months is because you haven't accepted a buyers offer. or no one has made one. It would be like your selling a lawn mower in front of your house for a hundred dollars "firm", means you wont accept best offers. If you say its $100.00 Or Best Offer it means you'll take offers. So a guy stops by and says ill give you $50.00, you can accept it, or say no, or counter offer and say you'll take $75. ebay has a rule that you have 24 hours to make your decision or the offer goes away. If you decline or let the officer expire the mower is still listed (still in your front yard), and you might wait a week or a months or several months and not get any more offers. Or someone may stop over that evening and give you full price. You might even have two people show up and both put in offers at the same time. IF you are on the fence i would try it with one item you have listed, it is free to turn on. I followed the roots advise and started listing with the best offer turned on and i really saw my sales increase. I do get some lowball offers but again i listened to the Roots and instead of declining the offer i counter offered with a polite message. some times they would take my counter offer!
When best offer is turned on the buyer has the ability to offer less than what you have listed. The offer is good for a set amount of time say 24hrs. You as the seller get to decide if you’ll accept the offer and if you do the item sells. You can also send a counter offer. If you decline the offer the buyer can make a few more offers but you do not have to accept. If you do nothing the offer expires after the “24hrs”. Your item always stays live and at any time any buyer can purchase at full price, or you may get several offers at one and you can accept, counter offer or decline as you see fit.
Hope this helps... also you are for sure 100% in the right place to learn about reselling... the roots are giving away life changing information, I speak from experience!
This is how I source items! Buy of eBay to sell on eBay, looking for bad listings and taking a gamble. Although sometimes it doesn't always work. Yesterday I received a job lot that cost me £85 only to have about 6 missing items (best items of the bunch) and a lot of defects on some of the items I did receive. I'm guessing the seller wasn't happy with the price it sold at. so they can have the lot back and I'll be getting my money back! Be cautious people! A great way to source but can get stung.
