Thanks Ryan but for some reason my Ebay doesn't look like this.. My layout looks much different and it doesn't give me the option to edit the photos on Ebay so I have to edit them on my Iphone. Any reason for this? Thanks.
Its Jan now and I began watching your vids about November and just coming across this episode. I think this is a must for all your viewers who plan on making a go on ebay or other platform. Next episode should be the shipping process and a 3rd on following up/handling returns. Ive been searching now for a better camera as neither of my phone are doing a good job (maybe just me). Last night, I was taking pictures last night and had this oversized shirt and was wondering where I can find a oversized hanger to make the cloths much neater. Going to have to watch this later when I return from work. Thanks
Yay Callie / Cally Roots! Love her regular accent AND when she goes country ;) A day in the life video of her day would be cool, seeing all the work she does to support this business could be helpful for folks thinking of hiring help or just to see more of the nitty gritty behind the thrifting.
What are the sizes of the self sealing clear suffocation warning bags? Or can you put a link in? The links you currently have lead to the matte white finish poly mailers. Thanks for the great video and reply
Hey Ryan really hope you see this message! I am in the process of hiring an employee. I see cali takes the photos for you. How many items per hour do you expect her to do? Does she do anything else besides that? I'm trying to figure out how much work my employee should be doing.
Callie is a special kind of employee, she handles a TON of the work for our business, not just pictures, which is why we pay her well. We wouldn't be comfortable going more into her job and pay though on youtube. Sorry! good luck with your first hire.
When creating a listing what is the advantage to first shooting your photos with a camera (or your phone), then transferring the photos to your laptop, creating your listing on the laptop and then adding your photos. As opposed to creating a draft on your phone in the Ebay app, shooting the photos with your phone and upload them in the app, and then finishing the listing on your laptop?
Bruce B mostly quality of the pictures and we have employees that take pictures and separate people who draft the items so that method wouldn’t work, good for a one person show though. I would still use a higher quality camera tho.
Have you tried taking pictures (at least the first one) with the "Product Photo Studio" on the Amazon Seller app? I tried today and it seems faster than fixing the first image on eBay... I took the first picture with the app and would switch to the iPhone camera for the rest of pictures, since it's faster... just thought to share this, in case you haven't seen that feature...
(by the way, thank you SO much for all the great content you put. You both are too adorable and have helped me a LOT... so thank you! Thank you! Thank you!)
Yoooooo!! I have to give y'all ur props becuz after learning from you how to adjust the brightness and contrast on my eB pics my listings really POP! I have a little $99 Canon now but plan on purchasing an SLR model soon.
A couple of thoughts. Editing pictures on eBay is slow. The first thing I do is select the square option on my camera and fill the screen on each photo. No editing needed for size unless I have really oblong items like pants. To edit for darkness if necessarily I do in the folder before I upload, more options and seems much faster. Great video I have got to get a ring light.
New Subbie here, I have learned so much in the last two days while binge watching your videos. You guys are so charasmatic that it is hard not to watch lol. Thaks for sharing your knowledge. I look forward to getting to know you guys better while watching your videos. ~Violet from Cali~
Great video. As always learn something new like the way she folds the shirts and the way she measures. Awesome. Thanks to both of you. Callie you need to post update on your progress of your diet and workout.
As for progress video Ryan, check out my latest office/warehouse shed conversion video. I move in tomorrow 5/1/18. I am ready to work this thing hard. I have a lot of catching up to do. When you both get back and come to Lakeland We can do lunch and you can come check it out.
Started working eBay out of my new office/warehouse yesterday. Work flow was awesome. I love my new place.still have some finish work to do but had to get back to eBay. Gonna try to post a listing process video in the next few days. Tomorrow night 5/4/18 I will be doing a final tour with the office, shipping, photo area, and storage/bins set up.
You know I feel like I've changed my photography set up like 6 times already haha.... just need to find the one that works for me. The fact that Poshmark photos that attract buyers are so different to ebay photos is kind of tricky, with Poshmark... elegant, cute, closet/boutique style listings with decorations or nice backgrounds attract buyers vs ebay plain white background which serves best on ebay. It is tricky to set something up that will work for both. I have tried the white background photos for poshmark but along with the other listings on Poshmark they seem dull and boring. Some people add shoes or blouses with the 1 item they are selling so you see what an outfit would look like... which looks amazing btw.. haha. I've bought things on Poshmark because of that so I know it works. Later on you might need to show us your Poshmark set up if you venture into it too. Plus... on ebay you have luck selling mostly Men's clothing vs Poshmark... it's mostly Women's clothing... so the prettier/elegant/beautiful the photos are... the better.
Very very true! Poshmark and ebay pics are definitely different, that being said, we do know a few people who use the same white background pics and cross post but we totally agree, items on posh will sell better with more boutique style pics. We're excited to get into poshmark in the future :)
This works when i started putting more focus into making my picture look like the ebay standards my sales increased some, still have alot more to know but i noticed a difference by picture taking alone.
Hey guys could you guys please show us a video of how to ship big or heavy items like maybe a printer please and thanks, I know Ryan said before that he knows the cheapest way to do it on a previous video
Hi Ryan! I needed this video in my life! THANK YOU :D and I noticed you didn't do Best Offer for this listing. May I ask, have you stopped doing Best Offer on all your items? And if so, could you pls share why?
For cropping photos - I use Preview (on Mac) for faster speed. It's a one click select and with keyboard shortcut cmd-K to crop. It updates the version within your files and uploads that to eBay. Saves a few seconds - which for 4 photos overs 100's of products can add up.
Thanks Ryan and Callie for this awesome explanation of the process! AND what an awesome idea for the measurements!
Quick question: For the measurements are you rounding down? (34 & 1/4 = 34)
Thanks guys, keep up the great work!
Great video Ryan. We do ours similar to yours with a few variations. We do flat lay on a horizontal surface and don't take extra close up pictures. We use the main picture to crop out the close ups on the camera or computer. We do so many similar item that we always have one listed or recently sold to build our listing off of. There are only minor adjustments to text required besides the pictures. Keep up the good work. It will be interesting to see how a second employee works out for you. Mike
