You should have mentioned the sizing guide of ASOS. They recommend a size based on your weight and height and the fit you like. It’s sometimes not the size I would have chosen. The feature is very helpful if you don’t know a brand yet.
For the hat that he thought was the shirt, you can also go down to the very bottom of the page and see if they have the shirt listed as well. It'll be under the section that says "Buy the look" and will typically list whatever the model is wearing. ASOS also offers a 10% discount year round for students, so you can use your school information to get a 10% discount on ALL orders!
I buy almost all my clothes online from depop and eBay, some second hand, some new just not used by whoever bought them. The amount I’ve saved (compared to what it would have cost me to buy the same pieces new) is insane, I’ve managed to get an entire wardrobe for the cost of a single outfit (bar the shoes) and all while no new clothes have had to be produced.
It’s a little more effort sometimes, and you might not find what you want straight away, but it’s a lot more sustainable (especially because you can buy high quality pieces at ‘fast fashion’ prices) and it will save you a ton of money, or allow you to buy things you might not have ever considered were within your budget.
I encourage everyone who doesn’t do it to give it a try! Just ask for measurements if they aren’t provided already, ALWAYS ask for measurements, a size indicator will never be enough.
