Renowned Fashion Designer Rajesh Pratap Singh visited IIAD to view the Discovering Denim Exhibition organised by Fashion Design students, Class of 2019. Rajesh Pratap Singh is one of the most famous fashion designers of the country. He had worked in the fashion industry in India and Italy for two years before introducing his own line of men's and women's clothing in 1997. He has developed a unique signature style of his own over the decades.
Rajesh Pratap is a recipient of several awards in recognition of his design and creativity. Newsweek Magazine (in their June 2009 issue) named Rajesh Pratap as one of India's most talented and creative designers. In the same year, he received the title of 'Designer of the Year' in the first GQ Men of the Year Awards. In December 2010, he received the prestigious EDIDA Award from Elle Décor. In addition to these awards and accolades, Rajesh Pratap's Ajrak prints on linen and handloom weave in Ikat are housed in the permanent textile and apparel archives of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. The designer's domestic retail presence takes the form of five standalone stores in India and selected multi-brand boutiques. His brand also retails with some of the finest stores in the world internationally.
