Hey hi, Seems like this option is no longer available on ebay. I couldnt find it on my ebay shop.. Please advise is there any other option to add keywords
Ynot B (6 months ago)
So, Ebay took this option away. What are you doing to optimize your keyword search now? Thanks
Robert Chabot (6 months ago)
Rumor has it that Ebay has shut down this feature on store manager site within ebay. I haven't been able to get it to work for the past ~3 weeks ...

Your video moving around like that is making me sea sick. And the audio drops out at points. You might have the best info out there but why would I bother listening to you if you put out that shitty of a video?
RockstarFlipper (7 months ago)
This video is a year and half old almost, before I had everything working like it should. please watch newer videos from later in 2017 and 2018 for better quality. thank you

Thanks for the easy to find title!! I watched this video months ago. I have a store now and sales have not recovered from June. I was walking my dog in the park today thinking, "I've GOT to watch this video again!!" It's too easy to get distracted on YouTube, but I MADE myself find this video and I shared it too. Thanks so much Casey!
I. M. (1 year ago)
Ok, update: Since I cleaned up my keyword fields (erased all, and entered a few simple keywords), I went from 0 sales, to aprox 3 sales a day of really old, old inventory that was NOT moving!!! The prices were cut months ago to the bone.

Great job! We have had Ebay stores one and off since 1998. Our current store has been in business since 2003. I will have to go in and use this information tonight! http://stores.ebay.com/titillatingtreasures/

Great video. One concern(because I'm new). In each category you have primary keyword 1 and primary keyword 2. Then you have six boxes for secondary keywords. Can I utilize each secondary keyword box to input as many brands as I have in that particular category and if so do I have to Separate each word with a comma OR can I only use descriptions of a listing which is how the eBay default fills them in. In that case I would only be able to utilize 6 listings from each category. For example if I input osh kosh, baby gap, Gymboree, baby boy, baby girl. Will my stuff only come up on a google search if someone inputs it exactly that way or Would it still come up if someone just typed "Gymboree" in google or whatever search engine. Thank you so much. I'm sorry this is long but I wanted the question to be specific.
Danielle Fry (1 year ago)
Something wrong with your audio?
RockstarFlipper (1 year ago)
Yeah we fixed it. I had an issue with sound drivers in the computer. All better now
Gus Tamer (1 year ago)
Should i just list every brand that i sell in the custom keyword boxed? I'm struggling to fill the boxes up with keywords haha. I sell jeans for example, so i have denim/blue/slim and the main brands that i sell but i really can't think of enough that will fill the 26 characters in each box.
Leah Fike (1 year ago)
Are you adding multiple keywords in one block? Till it stops allowing you to type? Or one keyword?
Tomas Snarskis (1 year ago)
Thank you!!!

Ok......I was all over this stuff a couple of weeks ago and Ebay itself (Griff!) is telling store owners that Ebay AND other search engines are NOT using those category keywords anymore. They claim that it's still showing on our "manage store" page because it would be too costly or time consuming for Ebay to remove it and thereby remove all this confusion. Any comments regarding this? I don't know WHO to believe anymore...I DID change my category keywords and they have stuck so far....but plenty of folks are saying it's just all a waste of time as this is an outdated (??) feature.
Davids BlogTube (1 year ago)
sorry lol I remembered HAHAHAHAHA!!

Do we need to leave the first line as our store name for each category. example-for ties you left the store name first, then ties second, then other words were changed to fit that category. Thanks.

I guess we will see, I wonder how long it takes for the engines to crawl them. On the plus side just sold a pair of shoes lol. It seems Weekends are the only time I sell things. Though Slow at least they sell :)

As always, thanks for the great information.  I had sold some stuff on Ebay years ago and recently decided to start selling full-time.  I am using my old account and it seems that it is much harder to sell now versus say 10 years ago. I am only selling a couple of items per week. I don't have a store, just a regular selling account.  What can I do to boost my sales?  I feel like I must be doing something wrong but I don't know what.

Casey, I think a good video in your beginners series is how to handle taxes. As a small beginning seller Tax form Schedule C is very confusing when they want to know the opening and closing inventory. Do you really take an inventory value on January 1st and again on December 31st? I would like to use the short form Schedule C-EZ but it says that if you had any inventory during the year you must use Schedule C. There is conflicting information in the IRS Publication 334. "Generally, if you produce, purchase, or sell merchandise in your business, you must keep an inventory and use the accrual method for purchases and sales of merchandise. However, the following taxpayers can use the cash method of accounting even if they produce, purchase, or sell merchandise. These taxpayers can also account for inventoriable items as materials and supplies that are not incidental" (minor). 1. A qualifying taxpayer under Revenue Procedure 2001-10 in Internal Revenue Bulletin 2001-2. 2. A qualifying small business taxpayer under Revenue Procedure 2002-28 in Internal Revenue Bulletin 2002-18. Materials and supplies that are not incidental. If you account for inventoriable items as materials and supplies that are not incidental, you will deduct the cost of the items you would otherwise include in inventory in the year you sell the items, or the year you pay for them, whichever is later. I talked to an IRS guy today and he wasn't much help. I know that you are in a completely different league but, how did you handle this when you first started out with about 50 listed items? Another tip... don't use only one word or set of keywords in the box. I believe you have 26 characters per box. Your cutting yourself short by only typing one word or set of keywords in each box.
RockstarFlipper (1 year ago)
GREAT POIINT. Use as many as they will let you have. I think 26 is correct
Trey Graham (1 year ago)
Good to know! I'm new to the eBay stores and hadn't yet customized this.

1:44-1:50. what happened?
Harley Gaddis (1 year ago)
Maybe a stupid question but, on the not repeating keywords, is that just within the same category or not to repeat them in others. ie: polo in shirt can we still use it in pants?
Harley Gaddis (1 year ago)
Thank you. This is why i love this channel.
Harley Gaddis (1 year ago)
Thank you so much.
Kristina (1 year ago)
It's just within the same category; however, I would suggest not overusing the same keywords because Google loves organization and if your keywords match up for 2 or 3 different categories that are not absolutely on par or similar to each other, Google might see you as having 'no authority' and pumping you down in the search results. Same thing for Bing, Yahoo, etc. But if your categories are extremely similar, then you can use the same keywords but really try not to use a lot of the same keywords so that you can be original b/c Google also loves uniqueness and they pick up on it. Real quick tip tho, you CAN use the same ONE keyword in each category IF the categories are extremely similar - this could boost your results. Please see capitalized words in last sentence. I am an SEO specialist so I wanted to answer this question. Have a great week :)
RockstarFlipper (1 year ago)
I believe you can use them again in different categories. let me triple check that or if anyone knows please comment
Kristina (1 year ago)
As an SEO Specialist, I can say with 100% certainty that you just gave a small gold nugget to everybody that sees this video :)

Thanks as always for the tip! I'm going to look at my store right now. Thanks for the video!

You got it ;-) good seeing you again
Etown Vintage Buys (1 year ago)
Don't those keywords actually have to be words that appear on the page you are trying to rank. not just words that are relevant. I'm pretty sure that's how it works. Google is the very reason I decided to stop doing sell similar on listings unless the listing was bad. if google has your listing indexed, once you do a sell similar, that initial listing is ranked for nothing and you have to wait for the new one to rank. I now don't do sell similar unless impressions and clicks drop drastically. correct me if I'm wrong in anything I've said here but that's how I see it. I'm still new and learning.

Mind Blown. Oh my gosh what helpful info. Looking at my keywords they are all messed up. I had no idea! Thank you!!

Thanks dude. Loving the videos. QUESTION: Have you done a video on Taxes at the end of the year yet???? A walk through of that process would be nice, what you need, what the process is with the eBay pay pal aspect, etc. since you've been through it. That would be great. Unless you've already done so, just wanting to avoid any unknowns when it's already too late. Thanks ! 6 hours ago•

RSF...I'm about to purchase the lighting set up from amazon , one question when you buy this, are there 2 sets of lights or just one? Also do you have a link for an mannequin torso?
Forever Jenuwin (1 year ago)
LimoStudio (on Amazon) has an amazing professional studio lighting kit for around $50- Includes 3- bulbs-5200K (daylight), 2 floor stands, 1 table stand and 2 light diffusing umbrellas. If your camera can do tethered shooting-it will save you a lot of time getting your shots right the first time. BTW you don't have to spend a fortune to get the perfect seamless white background (or use wrinkled fabric-eeew) hit your local hardware store for a white matte finish laminate (something flexible) to suite the size of your products. For a female torso- $34 (last year) mannequinmaven is the seller I bought mine from on eBay. I hope this information can be of help! Happy Happy Selling!! CHA CHING! don't we all love that sound?? :)
