Ryan could you start putting the date in your videos -say January 1, 2019 for instance? It’s good to know that I’m getting current information. Thanks a lot and keep up the great work -you guys rock!

Thank you so much for these videos. As a disabled person trying to find some type of work I can do & doing the research to see if I'm being delusional & dreaming or if I can make it happen (or work up to it) I really really find these videos so valuable & I've only just found you both. Information sharing so everyone might have a chance at thriving isn't something known to my generation, so thank you for teaching us. Ok, time to stop having my appreciative crying moment & get it together. Seriously, thank you. I will save a lot of energy & I need that.
Dang dude you rock thanks for posting

I'm not even a Beatles fan but that revolver shirt dang

Wow maybe I should trust my gut more. I put back a bunch of "deer and hunting stuff" because I thought who would want to buy this stuff just because I like it?
Chad Kendall (3 months ago)
Hey Ryan....I’m still flipping through your videos and was on your hip lion store.....i was wondering how you guys package your snap backs when you ship? Thanks again
Cory Passinetti (3 months ago)
Love the what sold videos! I ventured out of my comfort zone to look through shoes and clothes for the first time yesterday and fount a Robert Graham shirt, a Jimi Hendrix purple label button up, what I think is a fake Burberry shirt, plus some Tommy Bahama loafers. It was a rush!

What's their eBay store? I can never seem to find it. They've posted stuff I want to purchase before but when I search it on eBay it never comes up ):

So far you guys are The most informative ones I’ve found on YouTube about Thrifting and selling on eBay you don’t ramble on , you stick to what items you found , where you found them and what to look for and you have a very nice personality both of you and I love love love your dog. Also you guys keep it clean no swearing like other ones I’ve seen. I am so glad I stumbled upon your channel you inspired me to sell on eBay again. I used to do it and loved it and you really inspired me to do it again especially in my area where I Am at i find things very inexpensive the most i pay for stuff like clothes is a dollar and for shoes about three bucks and I’m talking about Merrels, crocs , doc martens etc.

How do you get beanies made?
George Lackey (4 months ago)
Bullshit 41.85 is not $50 You don't get paid for shipping.Vintage is very loosely used here, and just because it is old does not make it valuable. Single stitching is cheap poor quality.
RALLI ROOTS (4 months ago)
whew, somebody is angry!
UtilityBillAudits (4 months ago)
Awesome vid! I did some checking on ebay like you said, and see that 80's vintage concert t-shirts going for up to $355.... amazing. I do see in some ads where the seller states they don't own intellectual property or copyrights <<< is this important?
traverse trish (4 months ago)
I worked in the ecommerce dept. for Goodwill and we would go through donations to pick "the cream of the crop". The only time good, quality items would end up back in the store was if it didn't sell online. Not all goodwill's have an ecommerce dept. so I no longer shop at the ones that do.
traverse trish (4 months ago)
@RALLI ROOTS Believe me....the Goodwill is all about profit. They hide behind the charity label to get rich. When I worked there our department made over one million dollars in one year....that's just one store.
RALLI ROOTS (4 months ago)
cause the fact that a "not for profit" even has an ecommerce department it pretty crazy
traverse trish (4 months ago)
@RALLI ROOTS Dang? I know the word but why was that your response?
RALLI ROOTS (4 months ago)
dang

OMGI I watched an episode of Snapped this weekend about killer couples. Here's a snippet of the written text about the couple, Ben and Erika Sifrit (They killed another couple...brutally.): "The couple also setup an eBay store full of stolen knickknacks and promotional items, which they acquired by breaking into restaurants after they closed, according to “Snapped.” The items were mostly related to one brand, Hooters. “They seemed to sort of have a thing for Hooter’s merchandise,” reporter Jeff Barker told “Snapped.” Your Hooters t-shirt made me thing of it! LOL! Yikes!!!

If you haven't already done this, I'd like to see a video on what your business will look like in an economic downturn. Perhaps you have done this and I missed it????
RALLI ROOTS (5 months ago)
jjakejones good idea for a video. Our business would go UP 100% in a downturn

Thanks Ryan. I actually learned several good tips for getting into soft good clothing. I'm trying to stick to smalls & wanted to start adding lighter weight clothing items. I'm in Apopka Florida. Our stores are full for sourcing & estate sales are endless here as you'll know. Great quick video to watch. Much appreciated :)

George Maldonado (5 months ago)
Hey Ryan, Love your videos. My wife and I recently started reselling (mainly thrifting) and I had a question for you. On average how long do you usually sit on inventory before you sell your thrift items? Much love from the Great State of Texas
George Maldonado (5 months ago)
@RALLI ROOTS awesome! Yes we are wanting to open up a small ebay store and start from there. We have ALOT of Military apparel, boots and awesome vintage stuff. So we will wait and see! If you are ever in san antonio, you have to check out Texas Thrift Store. Its HUGE
RALLI ROOTS (5 months ago)
Love Texas :) usually 30-60 days for used inventory

I bought a Caterpillar brand ride on front loader for $25 at Goodwill and sold it for $175. Boom!
Barkey McCheesepants (5 months ago)
Lots of good info in this video. Ryan, you still look like you're 15 years old. I hate you. :) The only downside to this video is that's there's no Alli. She's purdy. Say hi to Calli for me and tell her she's rocking that shirt. As far as making money at thrift stores, I went to Goodwill and made $350 on hard goods alone. Absolutely no clothing. I did, however, get arrested for indecent exposure.
RALLI ROOTS (5 months ago)
hahahahaha! and this is why we love you Barkey ;)

got a super haul, everything was 50% off at our Salvo Weds and got some goodies thanks to your videos. Do any of your Salvos use red tags? ours does and they never go on sale except certain months.
Dakota Flora (5 months ago)
Thank you for another great video. I have a question for ya'll and any other established resellers that may happen upon my comment. I am celebrating my first year on Ebay and so far I have 100% feedback with a score of 237. When you were building feedback did you find that sales picked up once you hit a certain threshold say 1000 feedback score and you were starting to be seen as a reputable seller? Im guessing this may be harder to interpret for you than a non youtuber as your fans on here likely contribute to your sales numbers
Travis Ladner (5 months ago)
I kill the thrift stores in Baton Rouge, let me sell you a bulk lot. I probably have the sickest vintage wind suit jacket collection plus a ton of other vintage items. Like a perfect billy Ray Cyrus ache breaky heart tour T-shirt

Really enjoy the whats sold videos. I don't have the overhead and employees and all that to pay for, so if I find something for 2 bucks at a thrift or garage sale, and make 20 bucks on it, I'll do it. Every sale counts, and adds up in the end, especially since i do this only part time. Again love the sold videos, always cool to see what sells for everyone

Print Me Up (5 months ago)
Please don’t take this the wrong way, do you think the success of your channel reselling has become to daunting for the person just starting out reselling, them thinking they can never get inspiration from your channel as they feel they could never be as big as you reselling. I be interested if a channel being to big is a good or bad thing for inspiration. Take care.
Print Me Up (5 months ago)
Thanks for the response you are right and your channel is very good with such good content, I suppose the answer is to look back at the start of your channel but with so much good content it can be overwhelming and do the opposite of what it intends and people then switch off. Perhaps a vlog book tool where people could just take bite size pieces of videos you made to help them succeed and create a vlog book , I know we have the playlist but means you have to take the whole of the content and not the pieces that is going to help there business. Sorry I’m waffling lol. Good channel. Take care.
RALLI ROOTS (5 months ago)
hmmm, that's an interesting perspective. I'm not sure, I guess there are a lot of smaller resellers making videos as well but it's always good to have a goal to work towards :)

Great video! I totally agree when you suggest price points to look for, but you know sometimes you’ve got to pick up some low return items just to get something on a slow day. Especially in smaller cities that don’t have as many thrift stores.

V8 boy (5 months ago)
Just picked up a gran turismo jacket. There’s only 1 similar on eBay and it’s going for $500 brand new. I got it for $5. It’s in perfect condition, how much should I price it?
V8 boy (5 months ago)
RALLI ROOTS there isn’t any sold jackets of that kind but the similar one I mentioned has 6 watchers. When I look for it, there’s only like 5 results. So I’m guessing it’s rare. The other listings aren’t even close to what I have. I was thinking putting it up for auction. Maybe starting bid 200-300?
RALLI ROOTS (5 months ago)
V8 boy nice! Any sold comps? I’d price it like $450 if not
Marjorie Prezioso (5 months ago)
I've had problems with MAKE AN OFFER buyers. Cheap, cheap, cheap! What a PITA.

Outdoorgirl10 (5 months ago)
@RALLI ROOTS Thanks for the reply :) I have them priced at $42 CAD so I'll have to take another look at my title and adjust that...I sell almost anything faster if it's men's...lol
RALLI ROOTS (5 months ago)
hmmm, the men's ones definitely sell better for us but if they're priced right the women's ones move too, we usually get around $50 for them

Lazy I Ranch (5 months ago)
My all-time best buy was a big trash bag stuffed full of cheaply made black t-shirts from 1980. I paid $15 for the whole bag. This was an auction for mostly old vehicles and tools, this bag was inside a van the previous owner had used for selling at swapmeets. These shirts were all silk-screened with rock bands popular in 1980, along with a few Harley shirts and Ghostbusters. The bands were Led Zepplin, ZZ Top, Ratt, Whitesnake, David Bowie, The Cars... all great bands. A guy bought one of The Cars shirts from me for $5 before we left the auction, so I only had $10 invested. This was about 12 years ago when old band t-shirts were just starting to sell really well, especially the cheap, thin, skinny-fit ones like these. They ALL sold, I started each at .99 cents. Lowest price was about $20, highest was the Led Zepplin @ $90 to a guy in Japan. Ended up grossing @ $3000 on that $10 investment! Funny thing is, only one person bid against me and that was the guy who bought the Cars T-shirt for $5.

If your pricing is low enough they might be a reseller sourcing from your store. Or, like Roots said, could just be the dream buyer you needed :]
RALLI ROOTS (5 months ago)
Amanda Adams woah. I mean if they paid they’re probs just shopping. Get tracking.
Krystal Pallas (5 months ago)
Love you guys! You have really motivated me to get out there and thrift more! :) I see that you buy/sell a lot of Salvatore Ferragamo and do very well...Is it safe to say that most of these men's shoes are a good buy (in good condition) Do you always look up comps for different styles of these or are they a "No Brainer"? It seems that most sell for at least $50+ Men's shoes seem to take me longer to find exact comps on :/
RALLI ROOTS (5 months ago)
Krystal Pallas most of them do great yes. If the style is good and they’re on good condition we’ll usually pick them up. Guys ferragamos do better than women’s

I guess the reason I get discouraged or cannot understand watching your videos and others is that this sells well for you but I'm also selling on eBay similar stuff and it doesn't sell and some people say oh this sells good for me on poshmark and I have stuff same brands on poshmark and they're not selling so it's confusing to me because if you're looking on eBay you're looking on eBay or looking on poshmark closets for specific stuff... I don't know I guess I'm just discouraged and cant understand so anyway but I do love watching you guys

Hello I have a tax question. When you collect tax from the people that you sell to from your state do you just put it in as a deduction on your TPT tax return? Or do you have to do more than that?
Tiffany Black (5 months ago)
@RALLI ROOTS ok thanks for a quick response. :)

Ive made the majority of my money flipping high end optical equipment. I make extremely profitable finds regularly scouring local ads on Facebook, letgo, 5miles and offerup. Two other places I source are Shopgoodwill.com and liveauctioneers.com. I've also made some very profitable buys from Goodwill and Salvation Army as well. More Goodwill than Salvation Army, Salvation Army is way over priced on allot of merchandise.
