In this blog post, I go more in-depth on How You Can Get Started In Wholesale using Alibaba.com
Alibaba.com is a website where you can purchase products in bulk for a percentage of the retail price. You can sell these products online or in your local area. Last year I averaged $2,500 a month from buying and selling products from Alibaba.com. I buy products at wholesale price and sell them at retail prices.
I sold almost all of my products locally. I posted them on apps like offerup, letgo, 5 miles and craigslist and that's how I sold most of my inventory.

I have a few questions:
1. What shipping method did you use for bulk items? Did you send them to your residence or do you have a warehouse?
2. What is the typical quality of your items? Are they defective? Are they fake or authentic?
3. Did you have to deal with customs or any import fees?
1.) DHL Express but if you have bigger items shipping by sea is better. Shipped to a residential address
2.) Good quality, most goods on Alibaba aren’t “Authentic” if it’s showing a named brand.
3.) No not in my area, that may apply to other parts of the country.
Do alibaba ship to your door step ? .. People are saying you have to pick up your stuff at a boat house, or pay ups an extra buck and arrange to carry to your doorstep... Can you give us information on how that works ? Thanks a lot !
joanie Denis I think it depends on your location, I’ve herd both. For me they ship to my doorstep. If you buy samples I would try you address, if that goes good, you shouldn’t have any issues with other orders
Personally I wouldn't recommend using alibaba for a clothing line. Just for the concern of the quality. Unless you have past experience and know what specific brands and shirts styles you need. Either way, I would highly recommend to order samples before making a bulk order.
Whatever you're comfortable with, it will be different for everyone. it depends what you want to sell as well but even buying small quantities off of dhgate.com would be good. $300 should be enough to get most people started.
Sharee Griffin go to the city and create a fictitious business name, get a tax ID number and keep very detailed records of all business related expenses and all inventory and sales and you need to file taxes quarterly as a small business and you are responsible for paying forward the sales tax you receives from each sale.
Meet in a public place is the best advice but it's starting to seem less and less effective since once something starts happening, you could count on people picking their phones and start recording lol meet in a public place but also be ready to defend yourself!!
Thank you! I am going to start this on the side. It is encouraging seeing young people doing this an getting a decent return. I think this will be something I enjoy! I appreciate the basic break down of steps to follow.

hey how are u , your videos are so beneficial thank u , i have a couple of questions that i want to ask
what country are u at ?
and how and where do u receive your orders ? is there some paper work u need to do and for u to receive your order at the port ? and what do you use actually for shipment , through air or sea ? or it depend on the supplier himself ?
and do you keep passing by shops one by one offering and showing your new product shop by shop ?
or do u make relations with another wholesalers in your area so you save the effort ?
and about the products i may get , do you suggest just staying in a one product field ? or diverse ?
one last question , what about the ( Made in china ) website , do you recommend it or not preferred ?
i apologize for asking too much , but thought to ask you here so that people can benefit too .
thanks in advance :)
Hey, Thanks for watching! - I'm in the U.S.
- My orders come straight to my house
- I didn't have to do any paperwork before hand, I would recommend asking the supplier and they might know because it may vary depending on your location. If you don't know how to get in contact with them, I go over that in this video https://youtu.be/t2RhRj8mT1E
- I go over why I only use DHL Express (By Air) for shipping in this video https://youtu.be/IH5nKsauLPk
- I don't sell wholesale to shops because profit margins are smaller and It requires more capital upfront. I sell straight to the consumer.
- Diverse is ok as long as you know the items will sell
- I haven't heard of that website and I don't know of anyone that has used it.
I can't tell you a specific Item to buy, because something that thrives in one location may not sell at all in another. But depending on where you are located, I would just say to look at trends and pay attention to what people are buying. Then source similar items that you think you can sell.
