My first week on eBay I sold 19 things /totaling $408.00.
Still new to it, learning as I go - was strictly on OfferUp and LetGo since October 2018, then took the plunge into eBay!
Ryan, I took your advice on the pricing, revised all my items to the .33 and it's working out amazingly lol..
You both are an inspiration! I also did the hanger thing as well lol .. thanks Alli & Cali and Trista from side hustle pros!
update (not sure if you'll see this or not..) but after my first month on eBay - $1038.00 in sales with 41 items sold! (no per say "home runs", biggest dollar amount sale from 1 item was $70.) Starting in December, with crazy shipping times, I got super lucky to have now 28 ratings/ 100% positive :-) .. few shipping mistakes at first, but nothing great customer service didn't saveee :0) .. thank you guys again for the inspiration!
Hey Ralli Roots, I started reselling about sept 2017 and ebay in December 2017. Its not going aswell as I thought it would go but its not too bad either, i learn alot from your chanel and heard you mention something about running promotions on your items.. What exactly do you mean by that.
It was really interesting to see the sort of things people will buy. I was amazed that second hand clothes do so well particularly shoes. I have some vintage Fred Perry's in my wardrobe. they were actually mine that I bought in the eighties and nineties and keep promising myself I'm going to slim back into them but we know thats not going to happen. I have around 9 of them all classic colours and materials. Do you generally ise 'Buy Now or auction?
You guys are hilarious and so cute together! Thank you so much for putting together these videos. I definitely love to see what kind of interesting stuff sells on eBay. Keep up the great work! Love watching your videos.
So do you guys put an asking price depending on what is comparable to other sellers then put (or best offer)? And does that make in an indefinite listing? (like it stays up until it sells?) I'm a new ebay seller so all the tips I can get are awesome. Thank you for sharing!
:) thank you! free shipping works well for our model, it's the way buyers shop right now. We've experimented without free shipping and our sales have suffered. It's a fact that ebay boosts listings with free shipping in the SEO ranks. Plus a TON of people shop specifically for items with free shipping (you can thank amazon for that) at the end of the day if we have the exact same item listed as somebody else and their price is $40 + $5 shipping and ours is $44.99 free shipping, the buyer is going to buy ours 9/10 times.
thanks for reply, helmet looks like a good profit, bonus found a TUMI laptop /briefcase for 4 bucs then saw how much it sells for, grateful , p.s.one day do your tattoo`s video it would be very interesting, all the best !
Love you guys. As always! Great video!! Thanks for the help. Alli, NEVER feel bad about your lack of knowledge about sports, we seriously could be sisters. I am soooo bad! Lets have a game where we ask Ryan about makeup products and how to apply them. hheheheheh
we track the sold comps but we don't want our "competition" tracking our sold listings. you'd have to know our store name and check our feedback to see what items we sell, that's just the way we like to do things. We also only publicly share one of our ebay stores. stores.ebay.com/thehiplion
I have a question about bad feedback that I just received on a barbie doll even though this was at the top of my description: **BARBIE PLASTIC SEE THROUGH WINDOW IS VERY DISCOLORED AND THE PACKAGE ITSELF IS IN BAD SHAPE (COMPLETELY CRACKED ON RIGHT SIDE) AS THIS IS 26 YEARS OLD!! HOWEVER, THE DOLL ITSELF HAS NEVER BEEN REMOVED FROM THE BOX!! SEE PHOTOS FOR MORE DETAILS!! **
Even though I have been emailing back and forth to fix whatever she said the box was important to her and she will never order another thing from me because of it. I had the doll listed at $13.99 and took a best offer from her of $12.00, gave a detailed description with pictures and she still wants to leave the feedback. I was in tears as I have never received bad feedback ever and it's so frustrating when you know you did nothing wrong. I specifically gave detailed information so anyone would know. S he said she would just give her granddaughter the doll to play with and leave it at that. She also said she is a doll collector of over 1,200 dolls so she knows a thing or two.......ummmmm so reading a detailed description didn't help you, but knowing dolls does????? Sorry for the rant, just in total shock. I don't think people realize that they are messing with people's livelihoods by the feedback they leave. I only have 160 listings so one ding put me at 97.2%.
My question: Will Ebay take feedback off if I have offered to give her another doll or refund her (even though she didn't ask for money back)? I looked on their site but it didn't deal with a situation like this.
ehhhhh so sorry to hear that :( honestly you may have just been talking to a bad rep, i'm sure they were nice but I would wait a couple days and do what they said, reach out again to the buyer, if nothing changes call ebay again and plead your case :) don't let it get you down though, we all get bad feedback, none of our account are perfect but we still make money and remain positive. It's all part of business :)
Well, I just got off the phone with Ebay and they will not remove it because she was disappointed in the item provided and even though I had very detailed information in my listing of the exact thing she is upset with, they said this does not fall under their guidelines for removal. They told me to let her cool off a couple of days and go back to her to see if she would consider removing it again because I had 30 days to have her remove and/or change it. I could tell the girl was totally on my side but Ebay's "guidelines" are what she has to go by. She placed me on hold several times as she read all the messages back and forth between us as well as the feedback comment and she said that I did everything correctly but I still needed to get it worked out with her.
I guess lesson learned is that I should not sell anything with a damaged box because this could happen with anything even if I give detailed information.
I'm not upset with Ebay or the lady, I blame myself for selling the doll because the box was damaged. I will just keep plugging along and value the good feedback I do receive.
By the way, I love watching your videos! I have never seen two people who go so well together and get along so good as the two of you! Thanks for giving some of us the help and hope that we can do this just like you do. It is appreciated! :-)
Call ebay's seller support. Explain the situation, make sure they know the item was clearly described. They more than likely will open a case, side with you and remove the feedback. Stay calm and fight it :)
Hey...quick question... Can we sell books which have a library stamp on the
sides of the book(opp side of the spine) ...or do we need to erase it
somehow ? Also some books have sticker of the library with its name and
barcode ...Its very tough to remove them as they are kinda taped. Do we
need to remove those or we can just hide it by sticking a clean label on
it ? Appreciate your response bro
Thanks for another great video! A week or two back you uploaded a video with that over sized hanger and I believe you said another reseller has a video on how to make them? Would you mind posting the link to that?
Great video - nice profit margins - I track my sales on a spreadsheet, but will have to change it soon to set up time for more listing and less admin work...lol Thank you for sharing - Joe B from Canada!
Wesley Chapel! I walked in and you guys were checking out. If I catch you guys again I'll have to get the nerves to say hi. I'm super shy lol. But I walked in and walked out because I knew you guys cleared the store anyways!
Love the video! Very helpful. Question- I pick up the same items as you and others and I have over 1000 positive feedback I don’t understand why I can’t get the sales. So frustrated. Any thoughts? I watch you guys daily! Recently lost my job and I am living off eBay right now and struggling big time. I have the passion to do it just struggling to get it up and going!
Hi I was wondering if ya'll could look at my store and see what you could suggest for improvements. I'm now putting up a lot of sewing patterns and I am trying to also get into drop shipping because we are Christian singers and need to eventually live on the road. Anyway I thought you might be able to give me some pointers. I've really been working on my listings to get them looking better.
I'm probably the only weirdo who noticed/ paid attention to this but any particular reason some of the words in your title are all capitalized while others aren't ? P.s. Sorry for being weird lol, awesome vid!
great video as usual. been reselling about 2 years small scale to start with but iv recently gone full time. your vids have inspired me to get into clothing on top of other things i sell.its a lot harder than i thought but trying hard and slowly but surely learning. picked up a couple of tommy hilfiger tshirts yesterday but seems like they are worthless in the uk :( unless you get the vintage ones. again cheers for the inspiration !!!
That Q game thing we got one sealed at a yard sale for a buck a couple weeks back and just took offer last night of 19.95, plus shipping .... and I hate to admit this but the corduroy jansport backpack that like almost a year ago probably now we had picked up I think at bins at about same time you sold one for like $50 I think it was... ummmm its still in my death pile lol
WOWEE Ryan! I'm just awed, oops I mean glad, to know what kind of watch you're wearing~oh my! =) Couldn't resist~please, wear it proudly, as you should~especially because, knowing you, you got a smokin' deal on that too=) Well done guys, thanks for sharing your spoils with us little people~ok, ok, I'm really done now=)=)=)
Rally Roots! I've been watching your videos for some months now and have been active on eBay since September 2017. Thanks to your video with Chris Dunn, my gf and I have been thrifting and yard sale-ing since then. Sales are OK, but I'm looking to expand by adding some replenishables. Wholesale purchasing scares me since I'm running out of space in our tiny apartment.
Our store is stores.ebay.com/thetrendyeggs
My question for you is... I've recently started a different process where I create all the drafts I need, then take photos, then add photos to the drafts and get them ready for listing. Would it be better to lump list all these items or to post them slowly over time? I have a promotion for a 2nd tier store so I have 1000 free listings for a month. I normally have 250. I'm currently at 258 listings.
any help would be great! Say hi to Mochi for me!
larlarcej nice 😊 you’ve been following us for a while now! So it’s definitely better NOT to lump list. The more active an account the better, we make drafts go active every day so that new items are being added daily. Keep it up! Scaling up is definitely what’s next for you 😊 March mentoring, just saying 😜
