Are you using any natural lighting as well?
Lea Lopez (11 days ago)
Hello Ralli Roots do you guys still use the same camera, which one would you recommend for somebody that is just a beginner, please?
goronpaulpeace (22 days ago)
How can you afford free fast shipping that is 7.55? is there someplace you get it cheaper?
Monster Vodka (22 days ago)
Totally agree! My dilemma would be not having enough product to make it worth the purchase price of the $100 - $200 in lighting. I'm happy that I found out my issue though (not enough light). Thank you!

Wrong scans at the post office are easy to do. I worked there for 34 1/2 years and if you grab a scanner and are not paying attention you can easily scan things under the wrong header. There are about a dozen choices you can make, so you have to have your mind on what you are doing. Sometimes new people don’t get the proper training, other times it’s supervisors who are trying to help out who don’t know what they’re doing. The packages will move along and be scanned at each post office as “arrival at unit”. When they finally reach their destinations, they will be scanned as arrival at unit and then the carrier will scan it is delivered again when they deliver it. We appreciate your hard work and showing a step-by-step on how to get through this maze. Thank you for all you do, you are all amazing! Go team Ralli Roots!

The part about snipping off the price tag always gets me. People have said to me "But you got this from a thrift store... you're charging way too much." Am I? It's an item many people can't find or no one else has and you want it. I'm offering my service to go to curate and collect inventory for my customers to buy. That's what you're paying for. Not just the item you're purchasing.. Good tips!

I made a Fabric Box setup, i do some with Black, some with White. Used affordable Paneling, and hot glue gun, stretch material tight, and use my Note 9 for photos ( Works Great )! Work with very USPS Ship friendly products
AllAtousa (3 months ago)
Does anyone know how you take a picture so it fills the entire frame on eBay?
foundandmade (2 months ago)
@AllAtousa In the thumbnail it will fill the box completely but when you open to view the item it will still be gray on the sides.
AllAtousa (2 months ago)
@foundandmade hey thank you for that tip! I still get the grey boxes around the image. I am uploading from my phone to eBay, does that make a difference ?
foundandmade (2 months ago)
If you're using your phone, go into your camera, select settings, picture size, choose 1:1 ratio. This will give you a square picture that will fill the box on ebay. I'm using a samsung phone, btw. Hope this helps!

Hambone (4 months ago)
Nice video. The dark corners in your photos is caused by “vignetting,” which means the front of your lens is blocking some of the light entering it when you’re using the widest aperture, 18mm in your case. You can try removing any lens hoods or filters or increasing the focal length to 20 or 22mm.

Noted that this vid is nearly 18 months old. Would still like to point out: 1. Well Done, all! 2. Any new ideas for this tutorial? and lastly, 3. I update my re-sale by "blinging", I have only sold locally given fear of "glass reflective" issues transmitting to online photo. Suggestion?

How do you attach the paper to the wall? Staples?
Anthony Moraes (6 months ago)
I saw one video where you guys were hanging your clothes on a really cool, modified hanger you made. Have you changed it up from hanging your clothes to laying them out now on this white photo paper? Which do you recommend?
No-Conspiracy No-Jobs (6 months ago)
Best white is on RED. No pictures in my e-bay is terrible
MJ Z (6 months ago)
Thank you. Been thinking of doing this and this will keep me from doing it by trial and error, saving me time and money. Question: I have a hard time figuring out shipping. I want to do a uniform set amount but even when I weigh things, sometimes I end up paying more than what I charged. What do you suggest?
B Mason (6 months ago)
Thanks great video I’m gonna use the measuring tap idea in my future pics.

Love your guys channel! Always keep the vlogs fun and interesting. Question tho, I need to purchase a light for a vlog/podcast but also for eBay product photos. I have very limited space and would like to just purchase the ring light. Do you think just a ring light and couple just small household light will work for some pretty decent white background pics? Or would I need something with a diffuser? Anything will be better than how my pics look now honestly lol. Opinions would be much apprscitatdd!
B H (6 months ago)
Hey guys, loving the videos recently :-) Ever made the mistake of putting the packaged item in the wrong bin then you have to search through them all to find it when it sells? I know i have! 🙄

Shawna T (8 months ago)
Do you sell on poshmark too? I wish i could use my super expensive camera like yours but i dont have the time to resize them to square mode. That's super annoying and i dont understand why they have it that way. Anyway, thanks for the video.:)
RALLI ROOTS (8 months ago)
S Boyer you can change the aspect ratio to 1:1 and it’ll take pics in square mode

Two questions... First, have you changed any of your process since this video aired? And second, can you provide a link to the clear polybags? Thanks! Great videos!
Arthur H (10 months ago)
I hate looking at white background photos as the contrast absorbs the detail and softens the lines. Actually it makes the item look better than in real life. I prefer to see things in a realistic light setting.
robertb4455 (7 months ago)
eBay and Google likes white backgrounds for searching purposes. AI needs it. White also makes it easier to look at items in the smaller thumbnails on eBay search returns. I used to alway use a dark blue fabric for my items but that was in the late 90's. Now I have switched to white. If you want better detail, you can use a different color background and then edit it to white in a pic editing software program.
RALLI ROOTS (10 months ago)
Arthur H I agree but you have to give ebay what they want sometimes

Just found you guys yesterday ... WOW ... Learning a lot! I'm selling my items and have now organized them but by watching your videos, I'm seeing that I can do a lot more even better without it costing a whole lot. I just started a basic eBay store this year, looking forward to making my photos look more professional & adding the note is next, too. Me, I always like to send an eMail to confirm the sale from myself, that way I can relate to my buyer and make it a more personable sale. I look forward to more videos.

Can you do a video on what you have as a set up behind the paper with the big hanger to take pics now? I’m trying to set up my eBay picture taking area and curious how the wooden pallet come into place. And do you have a table there too?
AVENGERS THE END GAME (11 months ago)
You have to tell about camera setting too. Lol
Liz Schultz (11 months ago)
Thanks so much for the tip about the brightness and contrast sliders on the desktop site. I completely forgot about them and editing photos on the desktop in ebay is different than mobile (way better!). I was able to go back and punch up some of my photos that were a little drab looking. You guys rock!
Matt Summers (1 year ago)
Hi how do you make your photo look like stock photos ?
Anav Picker (1 year ago)
Ryan I have had that same thing happen to me with the Mail man scanning my packages wrong twice. The first time it happened I went crazy it was about 10 things. So a big pain massaging everyone back and trying to make them feel better about there items.

Mark Davila (1 year ago)
Why did that shirt go in a Y bin? I know the letters on the bins are for organizational purposes, but I can't seem to figure out the reasoning. Thanks a lot 👍
robertb4455 (7 months ago)
Mark Davila Probably because they use A-Z for the primary Bin location instead of 1-100. Y was probably empty or the next available letter. I use Letters and Numbers. Numbers being the shelve. So B 4 would be shelving B shelve 4 from the top.
Dahmas Deals (1 year ago)
Excellent!!
Daniel Dugan (1 year ago)
Those dark corners are caused by your lens. Suggest you investigate a better lens if you want to skip the step of having to fix the dark corners.
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
it's actually ebay not the lens, they're not there before uploading. Thanks tho!

What’s Y1, Y2, etc.?
Mooks Crossing (1 year ago)
CALLIE QUESTION: Hi Callie! Could tell me what ISO you set your camera to for the pictures? Additional settings? We have the lighting and we just switched to our Nikon 5300 for pics and having some troubles setting the camera. Thanks!!
Max Schremmer (10 months ago)
the more light that you use the lower the iso you can use. Also, you can use a way faster shutter speed like 2000-4000. try to shot with a f stop around f/7 it typically is the corner to corner sharpest for most lenses. But the higher the f stop the slower you will have to shot unless you put your iso up.

Is there a link (I could be missing it) to the clear bags she put the shirt in when she was done with the photos? Those are nicer than the zip bags I use.
sheila broderick (1 year ago)
What is the difference between boxed and umbrella lightening if the same light bulbs are used in both?
Ree-Ree Marie (10 months ago)
sheila broderick box lights have less glare and more focused light than umbrellas
Chris Ross (1 year ago)
How have your box lights held up? It seems some reviewers are saying the bulbs are literally snapping off at the base. Was going to purchase these today but want to make sure I'm getting something that will last a reasonable amount of time.
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
Thank you :) glad we can help. I would go with something like 2 box lights and one point ring light. 3 ring lights would be overkill.
Chris Ross (1 year ago)
Thanks so much for the reply and for all of the great info you provide to the reseller community! I'm just getting my business underway and your videos have been extremely helpful. I definitely watch as many of your videos as possible for both information and inspiration/motivation 🙂. One last question regarding lighting. If I have the extra money do you think it would be beneficial, and provide as good or better lighting, if I were to purchase 2 or three of the ring lights rather than the box lights?
RALLI ROOTS (1 year ago)
We've had no problems so far
