Seems like MOST of you think this is a bad idea.....Do you agree? The costs, maintenance, insurance, risk, liability etc isn't worth the money and responsibility.
Thanks so much for checking out the video everyone!!
Do not expect others to do research for you do it yourself, pay someone to help you if you need to. Most businesses now do not care anything about their employees, the only ones making any money are managers for that company especially the top level management. The ones producing the products, delivering the packages and making it happen day to day are talked down to, taking for granted, taken advantage of, cheated when it comes to pay and benefits, time off, people if you're working on a job or running a business such as this count up the cost if it is not up to your standards pass it up let the fat cats who make all the money do their own work quit making other people rich unless it is something in it for you. Enough pay to get back to work the next day will not cut it. Quit complaining about being screwed over, you can only be screwed over if you agree to participate. If you can run someone else's business you can run your own. Opportunities are out there find one that works for you and do it.
People you are going to be in over your head almost from day one. Working for yourself have it's benefits but unless I am missing something I don't see it here. I have started and operates a small business right now it's rewarding but only if you have good employees and that is the hardest part of any business.
I started with my company when it started. And my boss did this program, its a 2.0 as they call it. He started with 5 vans and in 3 months he has 16 routes. Hes doing good so far, and to be honest its a fun job, i started as a driver now iam a dispatcher. Its like any other business you take risk and owning a business is not easy. My boss work 7 days a week for 4 months straight. Its not as hard as it sounds since everything is automated via programs .
LMAO! I was a transportation manager overseeing 36 vehicles. Mostly handicapped vans. This is nothing more than passing the costs on to you. You're responsible for all service and repairs on those 40 vans. All the Insurance on said vans. Social Security costs for the drivers you hire. The insurance on each individaul who drives for you. You aint going to make shit in the end.
What a fucking joke who be so stupid to do this that's like a fucking manager a fucking Walmart you work 70 to 80 hours a week including weekends managing assclowns by the time you break down the hours you only making 20 to 30 an hour
This sounds like alot of work 100 people and 40 vans. What if a van drives into traffic and kills someone becuase they werent trained properly. Or what if one of your employees gets robbed with all their packages.
You could make more, by purchasing a used van and renting it for $40/day to someone who wants to do Amazon Flex .
I have a cargo van and to make extra cash, I go to Home Depot - when I see someone wanting to load hundreds of pounds into their compact car, I tell them they are going to blow their shocks and offer to deliver their items for a flat $40 within 10 miles. I can always get a delivery every hour.
I had one guy attempting to load a pallet of patio bricks into a Chevy Cruz. He was loading then in his trunk and was bottomed out with under 1/4 of the pallet. I planned on filling the trunk, back and front seats. I had then load the pallet into my van - charged him $60 to drive 3 miles and help unload.
I have a feeling also.....those number are if you have enough (money up front) to buy a large market city.... Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles.......etc. Those will be the first markets that people (other shipping companies) will grab and make the best money.
Basically franchise purchase for the smaller locations in your areas that are not already taken..
The cost and liability will be WAY more than the return for the money... Amazon is just trying to find away around UPS for there shipping now that they have gotten so big..
QUESTION: Amazon ONLY: How are your profits affected when Amazon Customer Support tells people that received a package from the new Amazon delivery policy, For mis-delivered packages, the person is allowed to keep the package for free. Do Amazon sellers refund the money to the original buyer? Does the original buyer, get refunded after filling in the non-delivery claim from Amazon or from the Seller? What is affected by this Amazon delivery policy?
Agree with your assessment. $300K is based on fine-tuned calculations. It’s assuming the finest management style that can squeeze out top profit. Not many people can achieve it. But more importantly you hit the nail on its head. $300K to have to have fleet of 40 vans and 100 employees. now if assuming you can pay yourself $250k payroll annually, and still have $300K corporate profit. I think that’s possible. But I highly doubt it. It appears the model is 1099 independent contractor. I don’t know many 100 employees CEO making $300K ( non guaranteed).
I like the idea behind franchises and the potential income but I have yet to see a franchise opportunity that is really worth while for someone with entrepreneurial goals. You are completely locked in and legally bound to the franchise rules and stipulations. Plus if the brand suffers, you suffer right along.
By the time the Vans are paid in full they will have so many miles on then and beat up from the kind of people who don't give a shit about your vehicles it'll be time to buy new ones!! Who's paying for the help your going to need in the office?? Because your not managing 100 drivers by yourself. So does that come out of the measly $37k your going to start out making?? ONLY WAY this works is if you bought all the vehicles up front and they raised the price to $450k a year, which still saves them about a million not using FedEx or UPS. WHICH will atleast let you walk away with around $300k when all said and done. Holy Crap... SCAM!
They were paying FedEx and UPS Tripple that! This is how the Rich get Richer. Bezos just fine quit finding ways to make money, can't say I don't blame him it's what your supposed to do but this deal rite here is just a total RIPOFF! After all out of pocket money to run your business and $300k for 40 trucks is insane! You'll be lucky to bring home $175k clear a year! If you could clear $350k a year then it could be worth your time. This isn't a 9-5 job either, they run 7 days a week and the hours they are working is even crazier, your definitely not seeing any sunlight if and when you have some time off. This is just a SCAM to screw the little man after they hype it up to sound like a dresm job. No such luck!
The $300k isn’t predicted revenue, it is predicted profit. Amazon estimates revenue to be as high as $4.5 million.
I may do this as it is right up my ally and am near a distribution center. Fits my skill set to a tee.
+RockstarFlipper it is an advertisement skeems... amazon has slaves. You or i cannot come to greatness without sacrifice, but you and i can decide what we surrender and what we do not. Understand that amazong the great supplier of products has climbed the ladders by a lot of not great things for this world. Slaves they have people they have killed and many of children they have taken from they parents. Understand that in this world nothing is easy. Nothing is free. Nothing i tell you.
I applied in July and got 1st step approval in August. Awaiting the phone interview. The email says interview will happen in 2-3 months. It has been more than 3 months. I guess it is holiday shopping season and the interview will not happen until next year. Anyone got interview?
What else Amazon doesn't tell you is they run 7 days per week. So you'll have to have at least 40 people 7 days per week with standby people in case someone calls in sick. I work for a contractor now and its terrible! Working on getting away from there. To get paid for Thanksgiving day, you have to work your full schedule the WEEK before Thanksgiving, the WEEK of Thanksgiving and the WEEK after to get holiday pay for that one day. What ever happen to the DAY before and the DAY after a holiday to get holiday pay? Amazon is a terrible company to work with or partner with. They give us so many packages to the point where your "guaranteed" two day shipping end up been 3 or 4 days. Its humanly impossible to do the work load they give us unless you're willing to work 12-15 hours per day DELIVERING. That doesn't count loading and unloading your van. I see drivers EVERYDAY get over 300 packages and bring back 50-60 or more packages simply because there's not enough time in the day. You've been work hard for 8 or 9 hours and you check your stop count and you still got 48 stops lefts. That's the most, disheartening thing in the world. Not to mention its already been dark for 2 hours. I hate it!
Theres other things hard workers can do & kill it with out Amazons burdens. Good Luck tho. Ya never know, you may get out there and do great.Just be carefull with them. I can see them switching up later messin up the whole game for people thats invested. I cant see having to much of a family life either if they want you to eventually have 40 trucks..... smh .
Their trying to monopolize buisnesses and now they want the same for the consumer. Think of the headaches. Think of the demands. Then what happends if you make an error? The're probably all over you for the least things. Then thats probably automated. Sounds like a nightmare. Dont do it!
Already sounded like a shit deal the minute this hit the news. That fucking lazy eye -baldy and the team behind him are a bunch of greedy assholes are so proud of themselves for coming up with these scams to trick people into slavery while they profit so much of people's blood and sweat. The last mile deliveries are the most burden and costly part of logistic so Amazon is trying to dump this on someone else while makes more profit on the fleet of vehicles, services and insurance they will lease/sell to you. All of their warehouse employees are hard working people all just trying to get by or have independents to care for. They are already working in the shittiest condition so the least you Jeff Bezos could do, is give them the dignity they deserve and pay them what they're really worth. You raised the minimum wage to $15 but took away other perks and bonuses so it doesn't cut into the billions of dollars of your profit that would not have happened if it wasn't for them!
My cousin is in the military and he brought this to my attention... 300,000 a year sounds like nothing unless this is profit after all expensive is paid... He wanted to partner with me because I'm a FedEx driver and he was in logistics.
40 vans becomes expensive... Maintenance, van payment and gas! Then the driver pay... Is Amazon paying for the warehouse, scanners, computers, network?
I take home (after all taxes and deductions) 45K-plus a year, 11 paid Holidays on top of 30 days of paid vacation delivering what FedEx, Wal-Mart and UPS loses money on with USPS. Time and a half after eight hours, double time after ten hours. I avoid any and all overtime like AIDS. Others do 90K with overtime, no thanks. I don't need the money that bad. All my shit's paid for. Both houses too. Amazon knows that USPS makes it out to EVERY address daily. USPS delivers their parcels on Sundays. Everyone else does so ONLY if they're making a delivery. Including way out in the boonies. Some schmuck signing on with Amazon's gonna drive out fifty miles to deliver a pack of AAA batteries in a vehicle that gets less than 15 miles per gallon of gas up a lousy dirt road to a set of gangboxes? NOT!! FedEx, UPS and Amazon ain't allowed to use the mailboxes. So they're gonna have to drive on another mile to get to the house on even lousier roads to deliver that box of Tampons too! . LOL! Only USPS can afford to do it. Somehow they always come up with the money to do it even if they've been decades in the Red. AND, USPS is raising their rates for parcel delivery. Here's the kicker: They got the fleet, they got the drivers, they got the insurance and everything else that comes with the game. USPS ain't gonna go anywhere. USPS has got Amazon by the balls and Amazon knows it. Ya ain't gonna get what Amazon sez. Signup with the Postal Service instead.
I think like some that you do the leg work and all the work that get them started up and running all over the country then they slowly they start coming in the back door and make it to hard for you to make a good living and your forced to sell out for pennies on dollar to cut your losses so they are established and corporate takes over and runs it from there.
I make 70 grand a year driving a big rig. Where I work we have 50 drivers. For those 50 drivers we have five managers, 10 dispatchers, a team of security, mechanics, in-house HR.
Imagine having all those vans to manage and only making 300 some thousand. No thank you, I'm cool with my 70 grand.
C'mon now... It's Jeff Bezos. Bozo rapes his employees, his mother, small businesses and the environment... with a smile. Do you really think it would be in your best interest to work for an monopolist, oligarch and a rapist? Really?
Those numbers are ponzy bullshir.to much overhead. I can do 300k with 2 tractor trailers..don't throw you money away on this bullshit.high failure rate
Projections . U can earn over 1 million gross with 4 big rigs.even more in the oil feild....
I honestly dont see this as the worst thing. My husband and I are both currently in the military so plus, but let's just say I would only make 37,000 with 10 trucks. Well hell that's about 10,000 less than what I make now. But I would never do this as my full time job. I'm going t ok school and will have my degree for teaching by the time I'm out of the army. Which we all know dosent pay amazing. But let's just say my husband and I started this business as a third income for our family. Can you imagine how much of a benefit that would be for your family. And yes I see some of you say Amazon will probably end up taking it back. That's perfect, buy me out.
This is a business you could let work for you, it's not for everyone and will sure take alot of work and management, but this could also be something really great.
Hello, we are high school students in New York who are working on an Engineering Design Project. We would like you to do a quick survey on the problem of package theft. This will only take you a few seconds and thank you for your time.
Ask yourself how and why ups trucks always appear pristine
And understand any part of their operational model m
As compared to what happened with fed ex independents and the hillbillies racing around in funky, dented trucks etc
And head into dc or n. Va for a 70 hour week
You’ll find a quick death more pleasurable
Your auto insurance expects you to inform them your vehicle is being used for commercial purposes. If they find out you didn't tell them you can expect them to drop you, plus there could be other repercussions, such as you having an accident and they refuse to pay damages.
I live in a apartment building wonder how they will feel asking for 40 parking spaces lmfao. Plus 100 young drivers yikes. Sick days and vacation day. Oh my. You would need a never ending body shop available to fix repairs. Never ending attorney to handle accidents suits ( people see amazon and think big law suits ). Never ending gas cards at Sunoco for gas and never ending garage to keep them vac and cleaned out ( fine print says you need to keep vans clean and washed at all times ) never needing EZ pass for tolls and now amazon is asking to allow their drivers to put packages in the trunks of their cars and in their homes. .. uggh. No thank you. I will just keep ordering from amazon and watch others deliver for me.
I work for a contractor for Amazon as a driver. In the wearhouse alone we have 10 different contractors there, and some of my coworkers are planning on doing this too. For the the amount of work and availability we have to have we do not get paid enough at all. There is alot of competition between each contractor there cuz they can set there own pay, so ppl are always jumping from team to teams.
The deals is not too back, cause lots of these payments are deductible thru your taxes, whether the leasing, insurance, registration, gas, maintenance, cell phone expenses, foods, uniforms, etc and the good thing you will have brand new dealership vehicles with full warranty, and guaranteed working hours, customers and products thru out the all year, the only issue with the deal would be finding reliable drivers who you can trust 100% when it comes to the products, vehicles, honesty, and people who won't be taking day off or calling sick every fucking mondays or weekends because they were too drunk ..
I hope this is not the typical franchise route scam.I owned a franchise route for a different company in the past. It was a nightmare. 80 hours a week and I made at best minimum wage.
First you invest ten grand as an entry fee. That ten grand instantly turns into over 100 - 200 grand as you typically have to “buy the territory”.
Then your investment becomes several hundred thousand if not millions of dollars. As you have all the liability and risk for little to no return.
Banks don’t finance routes so franchises are financed by (branded company name here) What happens if you make the slightest mistake.? They hand you a breach of contract notice and take the business away from you. You are totally screwed; loose everything you paid into it and are still liable for the operation expenses until someone buys it from (branded company name here), at a lower price than you paid for it.
