They should not be alllowed to profit off of returned sales but they do.. waste their employees time everytime... we have to stand up to them to gether... flood them with calls evrytime you lose a bogus return..make them change by hurting their pocket

Etsy is the same way. I'm sorry this happend to yall! I had a customer order a custom shirt for Halloween for her daughter. I sent her measurements and had her approve. I rushed the order so she would have it on time. A WEEK AFTER HALLOWEEN she messages me and wants a refund because "it didnt fit her daughter". I said okay, I just need you to return the shirt in meant condition. She refused to return the shirt (even though it is in my policy - if you want a return, I've got to get the item back) She reported me to Etsy. She sent photos to Etsy...... THE WHITE SHIRT HAD PINK STAINS ON IT 🤦‍♀️ Her daughter wore it for Halloween, stained it and she just wanted her money back. Anyway, it ended in Etsy siding with her. SO SHE KEPT THE SHIRT AND I HAD TO REFUND HER!!!!!!! It made me so freaking mad 😡

i had a buyer who i sold a used casio g shock protection watch it works and everything there was a spot on it i tried to scrub the spot off i couldn't get it off and i told the buyer about it i sold the watch for 28.00 he gave me positive feedback when he got it but the next day he sent me a message saying the watch has dirt on it there was superglue on one of the straps and the watch was faded well duh when your selling a used watch there is going to be signs of aging on the watch i'm not selling a new watch i did not see any dirt or superglue so i dont know what hes talking about but what i don't understand is why he did not message me before leaving the positive feedback i would have him sent me back the watch and he get a refund but he was saying he was just being nice but he wanted to keep the watch even though i tried to get him to open a return but somethings not right

A customer service rep will always tell you that a supervisor will have the same information as them because they get mark downs for transfer to supervisor i just to work in many call center so i know what is like to avoid people lol

Thats why i dont accept returns on anything i sell on ebay once they buy it its theres i am honest in my listings so they dont get ripped off but i am not going to be scammed by a buyer i been doing this a year i did it before but i closed my account so i decided to start doing it again. to me lesson is DON'T ACCEPT RETURNS

i don't know if you all know about this, the measurement is not the same between US and China inch. Maybe that's what cause the problem. Maybe the customer use a china inch measurement without the customer knowing. You can only know the measurement is not same when we doing the comparison. Just saying. Thank you for uploading this video too, very helpful for me to wary if there are same worst condition happen.

I just had a buyer try to return something saying that the razor that was sent was not the one in the ad pics and also it had been used and had hair in it lol. So i finally called and asked what I could do about it. I explained I know it was the right razor because it was the only one I had for sale also they could look at the pics and see it had no hair in it. Also that I think they were just trying to scam me. So they opened a case and I was shocked with in a few hours they had made a decision in my favor. I also had pics for them but they used the ads pics.

My seller acct is marked “no bundled shipping” but I get bundled shipping all the time. And I cannot print multiple shipping labels when it’s sent that way. eBay cannot understand this.

I sold a bag with exact measurements and even in item specifics selected very small bag. Buyer sent me a message and said the bag was too small and asked to return. However, I mistakenly clicked on accept return so called customer service to ask if this could be reversed. I was told I could have had the option of refusing the return, and there was nothing the buyer could do as I had clearly given all measurements. But as I had accepted return CS person told me it could not be reversed, but she would issue a return label to buyer so I would not have to pay for it myself, as she said buyer was at fault as I had clearly given measurements. So far so good. But this is where it gets weird, as instead of just advising me to go ahead and refund the buyer when I received the bag back, which would have been simple and straightforward, she then said she was opening an item not as described case. I then told her there was no need for this as buyer was simply asking for a return and as I had accepted it, it would now have to go ahead anyway. She then said not to worry as when I received it back to call CS and say it was damaged, and the buyer would not get her money back. This just sounded too dishonest so I didn't do it, and surely I would have to send photos as proof which meant I would have to damage the bag! I refunded the buyer, but as a case had been taken out, this meant the fees weren't refunded. The whole thing stressed me out a bit, so I just decided to leave it rather than calling CS again to ask for the fees to be refunded and explaining it all, as I doubt they would have believed me if I had told them that she had told me to lie that it was damaged.

but what if I bought a listing for a set of 4 pairs of vintage track shorts for sale and ended up with one? Like for example I buy a set of shorts that shows a picture with 4 different color ones of the same kind, a blue one with white stripes, a red one with yello stripes, a yello one with red stripes, and a green one with black stripes? I payed $10 for the whole lot as pictured, new with tags. I only received one pair of the swintrunks and it was only the green one, the sizing is off, I only got one what would be the right thing to do? I messaged the seller and opened a item as nots as described and they say I only ordered one!

Maybe if sellers stopped selling so much on eBay, eBay will finally realize that instead of just immediately going on the buyer's side without investigating the situation first, they should care more about their sellers. Especially since that without sellers, there is no eBay.

We get hit too!(Buyers). It's not just fake goods. It can be genuine goods but not as described too! I added negative feedback to UK Ebay seller chalkstarr-uk and it was removed by Ebay. This left the seller squeeky clean and made me feel unsafe to shop. I have had to close my account which I opened in 2007 just to keep myself safe. Not good!

I sell random odds and ends and some guy in texas with zero stats bought a fuel filter for $20 free shipping installed it wrong after he verified the fitment through Fordpartsgiant.com and the fitment guide on my page he still did it wrong!, asking for a refund "you sold me the wring filter on purpose!" I didnt even gove him a chance! I contacted ebay and they handled it! In my favor.

I got burned by eBay in the same matter. Sold a cell phone exactly as described no way to dispute it no way to twist it no way to look at it in a different way. It was exactly as described. The problem was the buyer didn't check to see that their network was compatible with the phone. They requested a return because the item was not as described according to them. I got hit with shipping PayPal and eBay fees I'm out $75 in eBay is doing nothing about it. I will never sell on eBay again not worth a headache. As a casual seller.

Just got scammed for the first time today on a Bose receiver , they opted for a return, i just refunded them after that checked the buyers feedback sure enough it’s was zero somebody made an account just for a few item . Learned a good lesson today never refund a buyer without checking there profile .

it happens to me and I have been bothered by this for a decade. I used to be so angry, couldnt even sleep at night by the anger. over recent years, I just started to give up the situation. when buyer open a case, I just refund immediately, and block the buyer. try to think its part of ebay fee. at least a lot lesser anger now. but still whenever buyer purchase a lot of quantity, I am so scared. I should be just happy for it, but its so scary. anyone can buy free on ebay, it is a paradise for scammers.

That’s not a scam lol - that’s just you being petty about a return. Do returns suck? Yes. Do buyers lie? Yes. Is it worth the defect and possible negative feedback? No. Just accept the return and move on. You should budget 3-5% of your annual revenue for “loss” such as this. You arguing over 2 inches seems a bit childish. I’m a top rated seller as well and when I get these little petty returns I don’t even blink an eye. Look at all the time you wasted on the phone and such - that’s more money loss than what your losing on shipping. 🤦‍♂️

eBay NEVER stands behind the SELLER.   I got Scammed on 1929 PACKARD wheels!  I sold them to a buyer in OHIO. I sent them to the Buyer. He said they were LOUSY and only good for Boat Anchors.    He NEVER SENT THEM BACK.  I had to REFUND him $125.00 and I had paid $75.00 UPS shipping.    I got SCREWED by $200.00!!!!!!!!!   I told eBay to FUCK OFF!

I'm in Finance. I have to call various companies almost daily with various "issues". I have absolutely noticed (just in the last 2 years or so) that "Customer Service" folks are getting horrible!! I was on the phone yesterday with one trying to resolve a problem. I kid you not, it was like talking to a tree!! No personality, mumbled on the phone, no energy, no help, etc. This is/was NOT an isolated incident....it happens almost daily for me!! Even Supervisors are getting bad!! I HATE to say this, but I definitely see it with the younger, millennial generation!! They sound almost robotic on the phone and they just-don't-care!!!!!

I just got scammed by a buyer named " rmutha" Works for a company called Aurus. Bought my item then opened a INAD and sent me back a completely different broken item. They will be outted on every platform available. Sellers beware block this dude.

I'm in the same position right now. I won't go into the story in depth but the buyer purchase a pair of Berghaus walking boots from me and gave me a positive feedback with the opening word - "Perfect" Two days later I get an email from him saying his daughter had pointed out that both soles were coming off. I mean he didn't see such damage when he received them? Anyway, I did accept a return because I thought there was no choice. I will probably get his old boots in the return. Anyway, to cut a long story short I read an article in the Telegraph (a British National Newspaper) see link which slams eBay's money back guarantee. see link. I too have now written to the editor and to the author of the article with my tale of woe. [email protected] like a bull dog and once i get a hold I never let go. I get trouble with clothing in the sense that buyers lie to have the return for free. Taught me to just do free returns and save the hassle. We mostly sell Toys now and don't get hardly any returns. But we love toys and have a passion for them so I think it helps. The bad days suck and really effects your work ethic and your day. Gladly they are not too often for all of us xx

Here in the uk it’s not allowed to charge a restocking fee .many buyers will not open a return if they don’t like an item because they know A the seller will refuse if a private seller (business sellers have to accept returns no matter what the reason within 14 days ) B They also know the seller will take a restocking fee so open a not as described case . I don’t know if this seller is selling under private or business but they should be registered as a business seller as that’s clearly what they are, which gives buyers different rights. Conservatively I’ve phoned Ebay CS over 500 times over the last few years and they have never been rude to me. I wonder if someone does not agree with you you class that as being rude . Lastly the refund of shipping costs and fees you got back from the Ebay manager came from EBays pocket not the buyer as a courtesy refund probably because they got sick of listening to you

Ralli they do train their customer service people correctly. The ones who are not in the US are trained to never assist the seller for any reason. I have literally had one tell me that word for word.

Hey trust me I'm on your side however I am not an ebay seller and I know how hard it is to deal with ebay support. But you listed this as a SCAM and I still have yet to see what the SCAM actually is. could you please explain to me how it is the buyer benefited from this? I agree it seems more likely the buyers fault and you should have got your restocking fee not have to pay return shipping and possibly no negetive dings, but I don't see any real evidence of a scam unless you are say that the buyer after purchase had buyers remorse so they cheated the system to avoid losing money? IMO this is not a scam to directly rip you off at the start. this would be more of unfair or slanted practice to game the system when the buy is not 100% satisfied which seem obvious to me they weren't. maybe probing deeper as to their dissatisfaction would have skewed the odds more to your favor.

Ryan, I have worked in several call centers doing customer service....large and small centers. When ever someone asked to speak to a supervisor, we were told by management ....DO NOT call a manager/supervisor.....get a senior rep to take the call....and that is what we did...you probably didn't even talk to a supervisor/'manager.....but glad it worked out for you.....this is just an FYI from a former customer service rep....:)

Just had same thing happen but I did not accept the return because the buyer had no case, ebay just fully refunded buyer and I have not received the goods that the buyer wanted to return. I feel robbed.

Just an update on the end result, spoke to the American department of Ebay, had to call them in the afternoon, otherwise you get someone in the Philippines who don’t really care. They will just award the buyer without reading any of the messages, item listing etc just to close the case and move onto the next one. So I called the American department and explained nicely what had happened and the awesome lady was just like “Noooooo no no, the buyer was way wrong! I’m going to reverse this and no one can then reverse my decision, I’ll fully refund you and remove the negative feedback the buyer left!” So as you say it really does depend on who you get. Was sooo chuffed, would have loved to see the buyers face when he got the notifications that it had been awarded in my favour.

there is NOTHING wrong with leaving a return open. as long as your comments left for buyer are air-tight; you will win on escalation. I sometimes put in my air tight comment....then call ebay and ask their opinion...if they are on my side I will ask CS rep to escalate on spot. Done this dozens of times. Also...somewhat known secret....many times ebay refunds buyer AND also makes you seller whole....telling neither party (buyer nor seller) that both have "prevailed." that's a fine result also.
This is how it works...they want u frustrated so u get to talk to the minion with no power.....hopefully u will go away frustrated and they win...ebay at its best....that is why it spun out your way....the first person is just a wall... Climb over it...peace out

this is the cost of doing business online. good the sellers are picking the costs for once. plus seller should be responsible for cost of item if item was late.

most of the time in my case, if i honestly request a refund for seller's fault, i get a request to pay for return shipping to seller.

I've come across several videos of Ebay sellers complaining about Ebay always supporting the buyer. Of course Ebay supports the buyer, that's why people shop Ebay. No hassle returns is why Walmart is the largest retailer on Earth. It works.
