Young Man Catches Woman Falling from 11th floor with Bare Hands

02:01
A young man caught a woman falling from a building's 11th floor with bare hands on Wednesday in Enshi City in central China's Hubei Province. The surveillance video footage showed Feng Ning running in front of the building at around 21:45. He kept changing his position while looking up to the building; seconds later, the woman fell right into his arms. Due to the huge impact, Feng was immediately knocked down on the ground and was carried to one side of the street by the locals. Feng said he was walking out of a restaurant when he heard someone crying for help from the nearby residential building. He then saw a woman hanging from the 11th floor window. "I ran to the building, but she had already fallen before I could reach the entrance. So I got ready to catch her instead. I don't know what happened next," said Feng. "There was a loud noise, as if it was an earthquake. Then I heard the young man screaming in pain," said a local witness. "The young man cried and cried while sweating badly. He looked as if he was in a great pain," said another witness. Feng was sent to the hospital, but the woman did not survive unfortunately. "Feng suffered injuries on his knee joints, and had a tibial plateau fracture. His anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments and the medial ligament have been dislocated," said Li Yanbing, doctor of spinal surgery department, Enshi Central Hospital. Feng joined the army as a college student in 2013. He retired in September after full service. He said his first reaction was saving the woman's life without considering whether he would be injured. "I don't regret. It's a shame that I couldn't save her," said Feng. Veteran Arrives in China after 54-year Wait in India

02:04
Wang Qi, a Chinese veteran who spent 54 years trapped in India, arrived in China on Saturday along with some of his family members. Wang arrived in Beijing at around 11:30 after taking a flight from the Indian capital New Delhi. He was greeted by officials from the Chinese Foreign Ministry and one of his nephews. The 78-year-old will head to his hometown of Xianyang, in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, where his relatives are awaiting his return. Prior to arriving in Beijing, Wang spoke excitedly about returning home. "After returning to Xianyang, I will meet with my brothers and sisters as well as other relatives and friends. I will also see my comrades in arms and classmates in school days. I guess they will be very happy. So will I. After 54 years, I can finally return home and see my friends from my childhood. I am so happy," said Wang. In 1963, the Chinese army surveyor crossed into India and was captured after being caught by the Indian Red Cross Society and handed over to the Indian Army in Assam. Wang Qi has not been able to leave India ever since. Until now, it is still unclear under what circumstances he was taken into custody by the Indian authorities and whether he was a prisoner of war, but it is believed he was not carrying any form of identification. After years of adapting to a new culture, lifestyle and language, Wang eventually married a local Indian woman in 1978. He longed to go home and often cried himself to sleep. Wang repeatedly applied to return to China since 1977, but never received a reply from the related Indian departments. In 2002, he finally contacted his mother on the phone for the first time in 40 years. Unfortunately he never got to meet her again as she passed away in 2006. Slowly he got in touch with his family in China. His nephew visited him as a tourist in 2009 and it was he who helped him get the necessary documents for his passport after half a century of trying. Wang finally secured a Chinese passport from the embassy in 2013 and has since then been receiving financial aid from the embassy. It is unknown whether Wang and his family will return to India after their visit. China's Chang'e-4 Probe Changes Orbit to Prepare for Moon Landing

02:15
China's Chang'e-4 probe entered a planned orbit Sunday morning to prepare for the first-ever soft landing on the far side of the moon, the China National Space Administration (CNSA) announced. The probe has entered an elliptical lunar orbit with the perilune at about 15 kilometers and the apolune at about 100 kilometers at 08:55, Beijing Time, said CNSA. Since the Chang'e-4 entered the lunar orbit on Dec. 12, the ground control center in Beijing has trimmed the probe's orbit twice, and tested the communication link between the probe and the relay satellite Queqiao, or Magpie Bridge, which is operating in the halo orbit around the second Lagrangian (L2) point of the earth-moon system. The space engineers also checked the imaging instruments and ranging detectors on the probe to prepare for the landing. The control center will choose a proper time to land the probe on the far side of the moon, according to CNSA. The Chang'e-4 probe, including a lander and a rover, was launched by a Long March-3B carrier rocket on Dec. 8 from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province. http://www.cctvplus.com/news/20181230/8099366.shtml#!language=1 Welcome to subscribe us on: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NewsContent.CCTVPLUS Twitter: https://twitter.com/CCTV_Plus LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/cctv-news-content Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cctvnewscontent/ Video on Demand: www.cctvplus.com If you are in demand of this video footage, please contact with our business development team via email: [email protected]

I Once Hoped that I Could Be Second Bruce Lee: Donnie Yen

01:54
I once hoped I could be the second Bruce Lee one day, said Donnie Yen in an interview with China Central Television (CCTV) on Sunday. Yen, a Hong Kong star, cultivated his interest in the martial arts when he was little with the help of his mother. "My mother forced me to practice Chinese martial arts in the beginning when I started to like it. She woke up at 05:00 or 06:00, dragged me out of my bed and made me practice martial arts. I went to school after practice. I gradually found myself gifted at and adept in martial arts. You know kids. When they discover they have some talent in a certain area, they would like to spend a lot of time on it. I felt I was quite good at martial arts. I worshipped Bruce Lee then and hoped I could be the second Bruce Lee one day,” said Yen. After spending two decades in the film industry, Yen had his international breakout role in Ip Man, a movie based on the master of the Wing Chun form of martial arts and one of Bruce Lee's teachers. "I became popular after more than 20 years of acting in movies. I couldn't have achieved what I have now without this time period. Without the experience, I may have not been able to play Ip Man (the grandmaster of the Chinese martial art Wing Chun) with such a flavor. So, I always tell the media that acting in movies is to reflect characters through their life experiences,” said Yen. He made his debut at CCTV's 2016 Spring Festival Gala with a martial arts performance. Yen is a Hong Kong actor, martial artist, film director and producer. Unearthed 2,000-Year-Old Sword Still in Mint Condition

02:08
Archeologists in central China's Henan Province recently discovered an over 2,000-year-old sword that was still glittering in mint condition when being unearthed. The sword was found in a coffin which was excavated in mid-December 2016 from a tomb in the ancient Chengyang City Archaeological Site Park in today's Xinyang City of Henan. The tomb dates back to the Warring States Period (475 BC-221 BC). Archeologists then transferred the well-preserved coffin to a museum of the archaeological site and found the sword next to a human skeleton in the coffin. According to the preliminary judgments of the archeologists, the 47-cm-long sword was made of bronze and belonged to a senior official in the Warring States Period. The ancient city of Chengyang was built over 2,700 years ago. Female Soldiers Train for Beijing Military Parade

02:38
A medical phalanx comprising more than 260 female soldiers has been undergoing arduous training at the military parade village in Beijing in preparation for the Victory Day parade on September 3. Bethune medical phalanx will be part of the armament formation, which means the female soldiers will need to stand still throughout the almost three-hour parade. Therefore, standing upright for long periods has been the main content of their training. Wei Lai, one of the soldiers, encountered some difficulties at the beginning of the training. "I used to be an athlete and I am still a little hunchbacked and bowlegged, but none of this should appear in the military parade," said Wei. Having been a table tennis player for more than a decade, Wei spent so much time bending down to hit the ball that her posture changed. However, she has managed to correct her posture in only three months. After her daytime training, Wei asked other soldiers to tie a steel frame to her back and a rope around her legs. She said that one time her legs were tied together for over three hours and she could barely move after untying them. "While standing there, we would imagine that it is the day of the military parade and it would be the least tiring moment. We imagine that we are standing on Chang'an Avenue and how many spectators are watching us," Wei said. Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan entertained visiting U.S. President Donald Trump and his wife Melania Trump with a Peking Opera performance at the Forbidden City, or the Palace Museum, on Wednesday afternoon. Trump arrived in Beijing Wednesday afternoon for his first state visit to China since he assumed the presidency in January. The performance was staged at the Belvedere of Pleasant Sounds, the largest opera theater in the Forbidden City, initially built during the reign of Emperor Qian Long (1736-1795) in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) to entertain the imperial family. With a history of more than 200 years, Peking Opera is one of China's main traditional drama forms and on the UNESCO intangible cultural heritage list. The art combines instrumental music, vocal performance, mime, dance and acrobatics. The presidents and their wives took in pieces from three classic plays, namely Spring Seedlings in the Pear Garden, Monkey King, and The Drunken Beauty. Before watching the performance, the presidents and their wives visited the conservation workshop at the Palace Museum. They attended an exhibition of antiques and watched the repair of some historical relics at the museum's conservation workshop, known as "the antiques hospital." The guests were also invited to experience a Chinese painting being mounted on a scroll. The workshop is the largest cultural heritage conservation center in China. It uses traditional techniques but is equipped with advanced technology. The presidents made positive comments on the deep cooperation in antiques restoration between the two countries. http://www.cctvplus.com/news/20171108/8065752.shtml#!language=1 Subscribe us on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/CCTVPlus CCTV+ official website: http://www.cctvplus.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/cctv-news-content Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NewsContent.CCTVPLUS Twitter: https://twitter.com/CCTV_Plus

3-year-old Boy Rescued From Well in East China City

02:00
A three-year-old boy has recently been rescued from a pump well in Weifang city of east China's Shandong Province. The boy fell into a 90-meter-deep well while playing around it on March 31. Firefighters arriving on the site found it unable to rescue the boy by going down the well, as the well was about 90 meters deep, with the mouth measuring only about 30 centimeters. They then tried to inject oxygen into the well and used a life detector to pinpoint the position of the boy.It was found that the boy was stuck at a place 11.8 meters down the well. The rescuers asked the family members of the boy to comfort the boy while preparing ropes.. The rescuers then let down a rope with a loop at end. But they found it hard to lasso the boy, who was stuck with only one arm up. Rescuers told the boy to put his hand into the loop of the rope. After many attempts, they managed to tie the boy's right wrist and arm. The boy was in the end lifted up after more than two hours. He was confirmed fine after a checkup in a hospital. World First Autonomous Dental Implant Robot Put into Use in China

01:52
World first autonomous dental implant robot was put into use in a operation on Saturday in Xi'an City, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province. The robot was completely developed by China and adopted the ingenious mechanical space fusion positioning method, which can not only improve the accuracy of operation but integrate with 3D printing technology to achieve immediate repair of denture. Before operation, patient needs to take a CT (computed tomography) scan to acquire all the data of the patient's skull and jaw, and then the data are stored through a special marking system, so that the robot arm can identify the corresponding location precisely in the non-open space and finish the dental implant surgery. During the operation, the robot arm got into the patient's mouth following the pre-set motion path. After locating the exact position absent of tooth, the robot arm installed the implant into the cavity. It took the robot less than an hour to install two implants into the patient's cavities. "The operation ran very smoothly. The biggest advantage of the robot is high precision with a error of 0.2 to 0.3 millimeters, which is much more precise than manual operation," said Zhao Yimin, professor in the Fourth Military Medical University. http://www.cctvplus.com/news/20170918/8061345.shtml#!language=1 Subscribe us on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/CCTVPlus CCTV+ official website: http://www.cctvplus.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/cctv-news-content Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NewsContent.CCTVPLUS Twitter: https://twitter.com/CCTV_Plus

China's Cliff Top Village Has Brighter Future after Installing Steel Stairs

02:38
The future of a village atop a cliff is looking brighter for its residents after local authorities installed steel ladders last year for a safer climb. In a remote part of southwest China's Sichuan Province, the village of Atuleer in Zhaojue County garnered fame after pictures surfaced showing the 800-meter ascent schoolchildren and the other villagers had to make to reach it. They had to risk their lives every day as they made the trek without any safety support. However, their lives changed last August, when the local government raised one million yuan to build a set of steel stairs into the face of the cliff, replacing the bamboo ladder. The stairs are wide enough for two people to pass at the same time. Residents seem optimistic about the improved transport infrastructure in changing their isolated and impoverished village. "Before, it was dangerous. Now we have the stairs, so we are all relieved, the old and the young. The journey is safer and we are confident in shaking off poverty," said a villager, who, along with the others, belongs to the Yi ethnic minority. The local government notes that many people are interested in the unique scenery and folk culture of the cliff-top village, and have already begun implementing measures to promote tourism. "This year, my goal is to have pigs, sheep and chickens. And I also plan to plant oval oranges. I will have 100 oval orange trees and I can sell them to tourists. I can earn at least 20,000 yuan a year. This is my goal after we have tourists," said another villager. http://www.cctvplus.com/news/20170208/8042619.shtml#!language=1 Subscribe us on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/CCTVPlus CCTV+ official website: http://www.cctvplus.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/cctv-news-content Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NewsContent.CCTVPLUS Twitter: https://twitter.com/CCTV_Plus

Chinese President Xi Arrives in Bangladesh for State Visit

03:53
Chinese President Xi Jinping Friday arrived in Dhaka, capital of Bangladesh, for a state visit, the first by a Chinese head of state in 30 years to this South Asian nation. Xi was received by his Bangladeshi counterpart, Abdul Hamid, and given a 21-gun salute at the airport. The host country dispatched fighter jets to escort Xi's plane after it entered Bangladesh's airspace. Speaking highly of the long-standing traditional friendship between his country and Bangladesh, Xi said upon arrival that China attaches great importance to relations with Bangladesh and is ready to join hands with the country to lift their bilateral relations and practical cooperation to a higher level. The friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Bangladesh not only serve the interests of both countries and peoples, but also have made positive contributions to peace, stability and development of the region as a whole, he said. During the visit, Xi will meet with Hamid and National Assembly Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, and hold talks with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. China and Bangladesh, both being populous developing countries, have maintained a sound relationship since they established diplomatic ties in 1975. In 2010, Xi paid an official visit to the nation as vice president. Though listed as one of the world's least developed countries, Bangladesh has been witnessing robust economic growth over recent years and boasts tremendous market potential with a population of about 160 million. Two-way trade between China and Bangladesh reached 14.7 billion U.S. dollars in 2015, up 17 percent year-on-year. China is currently Bangladesh's largest trading partner, while Bangladesh is the third largest of China in South Asia. Bangladesh is the second leg of Xi's visit, which already took him to Cambodia. Miss Uganda Pageant: "Beauty is Far More Shan Skin-Deep"

02:30
Twenty one contestants are preparing for the finale of the Miss Uganda pageant and one of them is a very special competitor determined to prove that beauty is far more than skin-deep. Nine years ago, 20-year old Aisha Nabukera was scalded with burning paraffin by her step mother. But the scars are not stopping her from pursuing her dream. "Seriously, I don't know what I should tell them. But they have to know that I am a grown up woman, a beautiful, confident woman right now and they should give me the support because what happened to me can happen to any other child, their own children, and so they should stop saying negative things. I know I can't stop people from talking. As long as I know what I want," said Nabukera Her rivals for the crown have lent their support. "Those scars are there, they will not go away. The more she gets used to them, the more she puts it out there. The more you talk about your problems, the more you forget about them. But if she sits back and keeps on thinking about what happened to her, it will affect her the more. But coming out gives her the strength," said Diana Nabimanya, a participant. There has been criticism about her participation. Several people took to social media with comments, saying she won't even be among the top five, another said she would bet a million dollars if at all she won. The comments went on and on. However organizers say, she has what it takes to compete. "That beauty also has to come from within and shine out. It’s not just that(shows her face) because if it’s just that( again touches her face), we can stand on the streets of Kampala. There are so many beautiful gorgeous girls and we are not looking for a video-vixen or a pinup girl and someone just looks nice pin up somewhere in the world and she can't even handle an interview," said Brenda Nannyonjo, organizer of the Miss Unganda Pageant. Nabukera is among the 21 finalists. She intends to use this platform to address issues of child abuse. "Many children out there have gone through child abuse, have been abused, have been tortured. They are not coming out, of all those kids out there. Of all those kids out there, I am the only one who came out and I stood for Miss Uganda to just fight against it."said Nabukera. Chubby Siberian Tigers Hunt Electronic Bird of Prey

01:33
What happens when you combine ferocious Siberian tigers with modern technology? Bouncing, pouncing, and even a bit of trouncing. Video footage of a habitat for these rare felines in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province shows them meandering about until they catch sight of a reporter's drone used to film with a camera buzzing around. The chubby tigers played cat and mouse with the drone until a two or three-year-old tiger swiped at the camera, a large paw filling its screen before losing signal. The group proceeded to tear the drone apart, with one literally chewing on the gadget as if it was a bird of prey. Unlike a bird, the drone started to give off smoke, which scared off the surrounding tigers. Staff members of the park in a well-protected vehicle then went to pick up the remains of the drone. Don't worry. Although they seem overweight, Liu Dan, chief engineer with the Siberian Tiger Park, said they weigh within their normal range. The park increased the tigers' food intake to keep out the cold in winter. It won't be as necessary to feed them as much during spring as it is in winter. Experts predict that they will once again be lean in about two months. A topping-out ceremony was held on Saturday for the 264-meter-tall minaret of the Great Mosque of Algeria, the tallest minaret in the world and also the tallest building in Africa. Present at the ceremony for the project, which is undertaken by the China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), were Chinese ambassador to Algeria Yang Guangyu and the Algerian Minister of Housing and Urban Development Abdelmadjid Tebboune. "We are grateful to the great Chinese friends, who come up with this masterpiece of architecture. It will be written into history as a monumental work of religious architecture. It is the third-largest mosque in the world, ranking only after the two Great Mosques in Mecca and Medina. It is a majestic building, which symbolizes the friendship between Algeria and China," said Tebboune. The minister conferred medals to Chinese and Algerian builders for their outstanding contributions to the project. Located on the coast of Algiers Gulf, the Great Mosque is currently the largest project contracted by a Chinese company in Africa for 1.5 billion dollars. "The construction standard of the project is very high. It is designed and built according to the standard that will withstand the test of time for a thousand years. After five years of endeavors, we have made first-step success of it," said Zhou Sheng, general director of CSCEC Algeria. Chinese President Attends Welcome Ceremony Held by Saudi Arabian King

02:31
Chinese President Xi Jinping attended a welcome ceremony held by Saudi Arabian King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Riyadh on Tuesday. Xi is in Riyadh for a two-day state visit to Saudi Arabia. This is the first leg of his three-nation tour of the Middle East, which will also take him to Egypt and Iran. Xi is scheduled to discuss with King Salman about lifting bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership. This is the first state visit by a Chinese head of state to Saudi Arabia in seven years. He will also meet chiefs of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Saudi Arabia is China's biggest global supplier of crude oil and its biggest trading partner in West Asia and Africa. In 2013, China became the biggest trading partner of Saudi Arabia for the first time. Two-way trade reached 69.1 billion U.S. dollars in 2014, growing 230 times over that of 1990 when the two countries established diplomatic ties. Saudi Arabia is the first Arab country Xi visits as the Chinese president, and this Middle East tour comes as China and Arab countries mark 60 years in diplomatic relations in 2016. World's Largest Tidal Bore Forms in China's Qiantang River

02:06
Thousands of tourists gathered in Haining City of east China's Zhejiang Province to appreciate the world's largest tidal bore at the Qiantang River around the traditional Mid Autumn Festival holiday from Thursday to Saturday. The Qiantang River tidal bore is a world-renowned natural phenomenon known for its momentum and charm caused by the gravitational pull of the moon. The best time to view the tidal bore is between the 15th and 18th day of the eighth month on the Chinese lunar calendar, exactly the Mid-Autumn Festival. Due to the Typhoon Meranti and Malakas, the tidal bore this year is higher than those of previous years. The nine-meter-high and 650-meter-long Laoyancang Dam, 12 kilometers west of Guanxi Town, is a best site to view the majestic scene. Tide, galloping like horses, hits against the dam and retreats after rising in the air, creating one of the two eye-catching scenes of the tidal bore, namely "back-flow bore." The back-flow bore then hits the seawall with the water rising up to 15 meters high, which is another unique scene known as "soaring bore." Police Dogs Put through Paces in North China's Inner Mongolia

02:23
Over 100 police dogs from armed police departments across China showcased their physical strength and practical skills at competitions held in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Thursday. The dogs were put through their paces by racing along challenging obstacle courses as well as completing practical tasks ranging from anti-explosive exercises, bag searches, drug detection and rescue missions. "The competitions covered situations that we often encounter during our real tasks. We designed the competitions based on these situations so that the competitors can learn from each other. And this also helps us to find a new way for our future training regimes in terms of direction and methods," said Song Wenjun, head of the training base in Hohhot, capital of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The event will conclude on Sunday. China's 2nd-largest Hydropower Station Wins Global Recognition

02:27
China's Jinsha River Xiluodu Hydropower Station, the second largest in the country, has received global recognition after the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) awarded the station as a FIDIC Outstanding Project of the Year last year. The station which straddles between Yongshan County of Yunnan Province and Leibo County of Sichuan Province in southwest China was the only hydroelectric project among the 21 award-winners of the year 2016. Liao Jianxin, an engineering director with the project's contractor, China Three Gorges Corporation, said the intelligent management system of the dam won the approval of the judging team. "The digital dam, in a nutshell, consists of the thermometer, strain gauge and other detecting equipment in the concrete of the dam. The whole construction process was monitored by these equipment, which gives a real-time account of the stress state and condition of the dam for the convenience of adjustment," said Liao. One of the strengths of the smart system is that it helps prevent thermal cracking, a common thermal effect on concrete, in the dam. "The 6.8 million cubic meters of concrete in the dam has no thermal cracking. As far as we know, no other dam in the world can avoid such cracking," said Liao. Built in the spirit of sustainable development, the station makes maximum use of the mountains on both sides of the river to house its workshops, underground power stations and transportation tunnels. A massive hydraulic generator set highlights the superior coordination of various different sectors of the station, said director Ran Yichuan, who demonstrated the smooth operational quality of the generator by balancing a coin upright on the ground. "The rotating part of the hydraulic generator set has a weight of over 2,000 tons. The stability of such a heavy rotating unit can be demonstrated in this experiment: As you can see, the small coin is only five meters above the rotating part, and it stands perfectly still. So the hydraulic generator set was very well installed. In more professional terms, the vibration part and throw are exquisite," said Ran. With 18 large generators and a total capacity of 13.86 gigawatts, the Xiluodu station is the world's third-largest project behind the Three Gorges Dam in central China's Hubei Province and Brazil's Itaipu hydroelectric dam. China Makes Breakthrough in Artificial Sun Research

01:16
China's Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST), the man-made sun, has made an important breakthrough by achieving an electron temperature of 100 million degrees Celsius in plasma and running under such a temperature for almost ten seconds, the EAST team announced on Monday. The research team said by using various heating techniques, the heating power reached 10 megawatts, the accumulation energy in plasma increased to 300 kilojoules and the electron temperature reached 100 million degrees Celsius for the first time. The EAST, with a height of 11 meters, a diameter of eight meters and a weight of 400 tons, is aimed at providing clean energy by inducing the deuterium and tritium in seawater to form nuclear fusion under high-temperature conditions. The latest research has provided experimental evidence and scientific support for the ongoing China Fusion Engineering Test Reactor (CFETR) project and laid a solid technical foundation for exploring and using nuclear fusion clean energy, according to the institute. http://www.cctvplus.com/news/20181113/8095632.shtml#!language=1 Welcome to subscribe us on: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NewsContent.CCTVPLUS Twitter: https://twitter.com/CCTV_Plus LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/cctv-news-content Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cctvnewscontent/ Video on Demand: www.cctvplus.com If you are in demand of this video footage, please contact with our business development team via email: [email protected]

The Chinese army's ground forces conducted a series of combat drills in different parts of the country recently to mark the 40th anniversary since China began to adopt the reform and opening-up policy. China began its historic journey of reform and opening-up when the third plenary session of the 11th the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee in December 1978 adopted the policy. Troops from different divisions of the ground forces carried out landing operations, night operations, aviation competitions, and other missions, in a bid to demonstrate the troops' capabilities in the age of digitalized warfare after 40 years of reform. http://www.cctvplus.com/news/20181124/8096582.shtml#!language=1 Welcome to subscribe us on: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NewsContent.CCTVPLUS Twitter: https://twitter.com/CCTV_Plus LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/cctv-news-content Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cctvnewscontent/ Video on Demand: www.cctvplus.com If you are in demand of this video footage, please contact with our business development team via email: [email protected]
Swimmer Fu Yuanhui Opens Up to Public upon Her Fame in Rio

02:30
Chinese Swimmer Fu Yuanhui, who became famous on the media during the Rio Olympics for her exuberant style, recently spoke up her mind in a TV talk show upon her sudden fame in Rio. With her fame and popularity since the Rio Olympics, Fu said that she is actually not happy being a public figure. "I became actually very nervous after I knew that I suddenly became famous, because I know in the long term all people that are held up high by public opinions will finally end up falling down on the ground. That's not what I want. I know I'm not a star type, because I'm a too down-to-earth person and there's none of celebrity air in me. So now I hope all this had never happened. That's the best for me. So I want to confess that I didn't understand why I became famous, and people don't know me. I was very satisfied with myself because I knew what I had been through and how difficult a time it was I had been through to reach where I was and even transcended myself. So I was really being satisfied," said Fu. She also took the responsibility for missing a medal in the 4x100m medley relay when talking about her famous remark of "I had my period" in the post-race interview. "I've always been such a character. I'm a person with a good sense of responsibility and will face up squarely anything that comes my way. If it's my fault, I'll for sure take the responsibility. I was very unhappy with my performance in the relay, which was slower than in the single event, though I didn't feel very well in my body," said Fu. Fu also expressed her love for a peaceful life when she talked about her retirement plan. "I used to think that after I retire I would open an animal shelter, or help people in need -- meaningful things like that. But actually I'm quite at a loss as what I should do after retirement. Most ideally I want to run a farm to raise all kinds of animals, where there is a nice environment and I can grow flowers and plants. That's the life I want most. But the precondition is that I must have achieved what I feel satisfied with in my sport career. Otherwise, I will enter another field to prove myself after retirement, because I believe people should keep up going as long as you're alive. If you do not give up on yourself, there will always be somewhere you can shine," said Fu. Refugees Continue Flocking to Greek Island amid General Election

02:28
Boats carrying refugees, mostly Syrians, continued flocking to Greece's Lesbos Island on Sunday while Greek citizens cast their ballots in the nation's general election. Various types of boat, including rubber dinghies, carried refugees to several beaches on the island, which is four kilometers from the Turkish coast. Refugees said it didn't matter where in Europe they ended up, they just wanted to find a safe place to stay. "Any country in Europe, 'cause we want the safe, only safe," said a Syrian refugee. According to estimates, around 6,000 refugees were likely to reach Lesbos Island over the weekend. But, another tragedy in nearby waters, the sinking of a vessel carrying dozens of refugees, was reported on Sunday. "The location is about three kilometers south of Mytilene City, 22 survived, 26 are missing," said Christiana Kalogirou, North Aegean Region governor. And, at least 13 undocumented refugees and migrants are still missing after a boat capsized amid strong winds off the island on Saturday. So far this year, hundreds of thousands of refugees, mostly Syrians and Afghans fleeing conflict, have crossed by sea from Turkey to Greece. An overwhelming majority continued onwards to more prosperous central and northern European countries. But, after the introduction of tighter border controls by several states lately, Greeks fear that such refugees and migrants will stay in a country that lacks the means to help them. China's Shenzhou-11 Spacecraft Succeeds in Docking with Tiangong-2 Space Lab

01:56
China's Shenzhou-11 manned spacecraft succeeded in docking with the Tiangong-2 space lab through a remote-controlled automatic operation early Wednesday, according to the Beijing Aerospace Control Center. After the successful docking, two male astronauts, 49-year-old Jing Haipeng and 37-year-old Chen Dong, will enter the space lab and begin their month-long stay there, during which they will conduct a series of experiments. Jing, commander of Shenzhou-11, will spend his 50th birthday in space during the 30-day mission and break the age record for Chinese astronauts in service. The mission is Jing's third spaceflight following his 68-hour Shenzhou-7 mission in 2008 and 13-day Shenzhou-9 mission in 2012, making him the first Chinese astronaut to enter space three times and setting the record for the most hours spent in space by a Chinese astronaut. His companion, Chen, with a safe flight record of 1,500 hours as an air force pilot, was named as one of China's second generation of astronauts in May 2010 and selected as a crew member for the Shenzhou-11 mission in June 2016. Firefighters Rescue Two Kids Stuck in Revolving Door in Northwest China

02:10
Firefighters on Sunday rescued a three-year-old boy and a five-year-old girl, who got stuck in a revolving door while playing at a hotel in Danfeng County, Shangluo City, northwest China's Shaanxi Province. The boy's ankle got stuck between the door wing and the bottom rail of the rounded door, trapping him and the girl inside. The girl bravely calmed and took care of the little boy while onlookers, including her mother encouraged the interaction. When the firefighters arrived at the hotel, they immediately used a handheld block saw to break down the glass and carried the girl out first. Firefighters then put a safety helmet and a blanket over the boy to protect him from sparks when firefighters sawed off parts of the door frame. The boy was finally freed after half an hour's effort and was sent to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The boy did not sustain serious injuries. http://www.cctvplus.com/news/20170314/8045412.shtml#!language=1 Subscribe us on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/CCTVPlus CCTV+ official website: http://www.cctvplus.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/cctv-news-content Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NewsContent.CCTVPLUS Twitter: https://twitter.com/CCTV_Plus

Pyongyang Hosts Its First Beer Festival

02:36
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) held its first ever beer festival in the capital Pyongyang on Friday drawing more than 800 residents, tourists, and foreign guests. The opening ceremony began at 19:00 on the pier of the Taedong River, one of Pyongyang's most famous landmarks, with performances, and free beer served for the visitors. The fried chicken and beer combo remained the favorite of the evening crowd. The event, which will last for about 20 days, is reportedly held to promote Taedonggang beer, Pyongyang's own brew and the most popular brand of beer in the country. The beer, named after the Taedong River that runs through the capital is a full-bodied lager a little on the sweet side, with a slightly bitter aftertaste. "It is great. This is one of the best beers," said a Pyongyang resident. "This is world class beer. It is great. We have our leadership to thank for being able to drink to our hearts' content today," said another resident. The festival will continue on the Taedonggang cruise boat every night until late this month. Chinese Veteran Returns Home From India after 54 year Wait

01:34
An 80-year-old Chinese veteran, who has been trapped in India for 54 years, has returned to his motherland on Saturday morning. Wang Qi, with his three family members, arrived in Beijing, the Chinese capital at around 11:30 Saturday after several hours of flight from New Delhi at 05:00. Then he will return to his hometown in northwest China's Shaanxi Province. Wang and his families reached New Delhi and went through the related formalities and obtained their exit permits from the Indian Foreign Ministry on Friday. Then they came to the Chinese embassy in India, expressing their thanks to Chinese embassy personnel. Wang joined the Chinese People's Liberation army in 1960 and was dispatched to China-India border in 1963 during the Sino-Indian war. He got lost in December of that year in a forest near his camp and was then taken to India by an Indian Red Cross vehicle. He was later handed over to the Indian army and spent seven years in prison. After being released, Wang was sent to a remote village named Tirodi in India's central state of Madhya Pradesh and started a life there. He married a local woman and the couple raised four children. The veteran had repeatedly applied to the Indian government to go back to China over the last few decades but he had been denied official Indian documents and citizenship time and again. His story was reported by media last month and instantly triggered calls for him to be repatriated. Luo Zhaohui, Chinese ambassador to India, said "the cooperation, support from the Indian side, and their unique way to handle the special case really help a lot."
