Just a short clip of me fishing from the lighthouse on Fort Washington, Maryland. I'm using a Whisker Seeker Chad Ferguson medium-heavy 7'6" rod.

Fishing for Striped Bass in Washington, DC

06:54
A short video of me getting some early morning rockfish action. These fish I hooked into are on the smaller side of what's out there in the Potomac but they are tons of fun to catch on light tackle. I'm using a 7-foot St. Croix Mojo Inshore spinning rod with an Okuma Avenger AV-40b spinning reel. 20lb-test yellow braided (Piscifun), 30lb fluorocarbon leader. The lure is a Mark White surface plug, Oama color, 1-ounce. But rockfish aren't too picky and I think any large, light colored bucktail jig will work. I've also caught rockfish on swim shad-type lures.

Catching small omilu (bluefin trevally) at Lanikai Beach, Oahu, Hawaii

05:46
A short video of me catching three "omilu" (two tiny, one decent sized). Omilu is also known as Bluefin Trevally and is known in Hawaii for being a strong fighter and good eating! I actually caught five omilu that day but only got three on video. I caught a nice 1 to 1.5lb omilu just before I shot this video. Kicking myself for not turning my GoPro on during that fight! Location is Lanikai Beach in Kailua, Hawaii, on the east side of the island of Oahu. Time of video is dawn, and the tide was low. I used "ika" (squid) for bait. I was trying for "o'io" (bonefish) or maybe even a "moi" (Pacific threadfin) but only omilu were biting that day. The omilu were small but they gave a decent fight on light tackle and I have no complaints.
