As one of the only "Amazon Guru's" on YouTube actually running a big Amazon business, let me show you what that looks like:)
This is wholesale selling on Amazon. And in my opinion, it's one of the best businesses in the world. (but hey, I'm biased)
Did you know that more than half of the BIGGEST AMAZON SELLERS in the world run a wholesale based business? That's right!
So why is it all you really hear about is private label? Well that's because like most real businesses it requires you get off your ass and get to work! haha.
But if you're one of those really hungry entrepreneurs who doesn't mind actually building a real business...maybe working some long hours, hustling, lifting some boxes, slapping on some labels, hiring a staff, or in general doing whatever it takes...than wholesale is absolutely the right fit for you.
If you're willing to put in that work, the sky is genuinely the limit for a wholesale business on Amazon.
The way it works is simple. We sell popular brand name products which we source directly from the brands themselves or their authorized distributors.
We look for products that are ranked really well so we know they'll sell fast! And then we're doing product research picking out the fast movers that actually make a profit. RINSE. REPEAT. AND THEN SCALE THAT ARE THE NAME OF THE GAME!
This video, shot over the course of a day and a half in my Brooklyn warehouse, shows a bit of the daily process.
-First, deliveries of merchandise arrives all throughout the day. These products are counted, sorted and then are ready to be added to Amazon.
-After that, we print FBA labels and then it's on to labeling and prepping our products. Some just get labels, but other stuff like liquids, powders, multi-packs and bundles require some additional prep work in the form of poly-bags, bubble bags or boxes.
-Now our stuff is prepped and ready to be sent out to Amazon's Fulfillment Centers. The inventory is carefully boxed, and each box gets an Amazon barcode label. The next step is to take our boxes, and play a fun game of Tetris putting together pallet size LTL shipments. (you don't need to ship on pallets in the beginning, but at scale its far more efficient.)
-The last step is to stretch wrap our pallets, one more set of labels for each one, and then out the door and on their way to the FBA center.
Then as I said: RINSE, REPEAT, WORK HARD, DO IT RIGHT, COUNT YOUR PROFITS :)
